We stayed 10/8-10/9/22 and between the gang fight in the lobby and the run down room we won't be back! Rock hard bed, ceiling tiles falling in and gross shower plus no bolt lock on the door. This whole hotel is in bad shape. Yelling in the halls and banging doors most of the night made for little sleep.

Uncleaned room we were first given.

Just clarify from the start - the staff was very quick, courteous, helpful, and friendly. That being said, don't stay here. When we first checked in we were directed to a room that had not yet been turned over from the previous guest. So we walked into unmade beds, used towels on the floor, full trash cans, etc. Once we were directed to a room that had been seen to... it was only mildly better. There were unidentified stains on a pillowcase and a lampshade. There was an immense amount of dirt and dust in and on the A/C unit. Most alarmingly there was an unidentified substance built up on, if not growing on, the phone. Quite honestly I am relieved we only spent the one night there, and surprised we did not wake up ill.

STAY AWAY FROM THIS HOTEL! Overall has to be one of the dirtiest and poorest maintained national chain hotels I have stayed in (I have logged over 1000 room nights in the past 10 years). If it wasn't for the time of night we arrived, I would have left and found an alternative. Filthy dirty and a complete lack of care for the facility. Just plain SCARY.

Missing fire detector in second room

This was an awful location. The staff were all very friendly and helpful but it's clear that the owners just don't care to make sure the location is kept up well. We had mold, grime, flies, chipped paint. We were missing a dead bolt for our room and a fire detector. The room just really felt dirty and gross. The staff were all very nice and when I raised concerns they moved us to another room which at least felt a little more clean (and didn't have mold). However the new room still didn't have a fire detector and we still had flies. When we first arrived there were piles of trash in the hallways and it was just not good. We didn't see any roaches or anything but I'm not surprised other reviewers mention them since there was trash everywhere. I would definitely say you're better off at one of the other cheap hotels in the area.

Duty walls

The room is very dirty, the floor the cabinets, the chair lamps, don't say the walls have stains of all kinds, the parking lot with garbage, the employees smoking at the entrance of the place and throwing the butts on the floor the full garbage dump, the elevator or wanting to touch the keys very dirty We aren't coming back to this hotel it needs a lot of remodeling, and cleaning before they put in it back in business, Smell very bad inside the room, floors duty, bathroom hair and shower rod falling apart, The tv is old and has no good reception, NO WIFI I called the reception laddy and said let me re-set it, nothing happen no connection to wifi. Not recommended.......

Hotel guests SMOKE in the atrium and the hallways and this second hand smoke drifts through the A/C into the rooms. Breathing in all that unhealthy air. I do not know what the regulations are... Rooms are falling apart. Ceiling in the bathroom is disintegrating next to a bathroom door that does not close.

Smoke detector

If I could give this no stars I would. As we get on the elevator the tiles are broken. I wish that was the worst. We get off the elevator and the floors have clearly not been vacuumed for many days. We get to our room...and it's open...we go in nervous and the bed and towels have stains. We decide it's just one night we can deal so we start to unpack and discover the smoke detector in the drawer!!! The bath tub has scratches and the whole room smelt like chlorine. The door we discovered did not have a latch to it! So we ask to switch rooms and she accommodates us. We move and the room we thought was better but still had issues. The smell was gone, the bed still had a stain, the smoke detector was attached, and the door had a latch! However the toilet ran constantly and the seat had chips missing out of it. We get into the bed and the head board falls down! The lamp beside the bed isn't plugged in and there's no way to use it for the lamp or the connecting chargers. And the drawers are full of crumbs and trash such as a corn dog stick, used cups, and wrappers. We decide to go down to the pool and it is so dirty. The bubble in the hot tub don't work. The spa isn't operational. And the things floating in the pool were disgusting.

Sink is gross.

This hotel is disgusting and filthy!!! I would not recommend this place to even a homeless person if it was free!! Filth!! The floor was nasty, couldn't walk around barefoot. Wouldn't dare sleep under the blankets, they were stained and smelled bad. The bathroom looked like it hadn't been swept or mopped, maybe even cleaned in 10 years!! The mini fridge still had someone's old food in it!! The room was suppose to be non smoking the smelt like someone just sat and smoked a whole pack of cigarettes right before we checked in!! Filth!! Do not come to this hotel!! Unless you like filth!!

Semen or god know what was splashed all over the TV and the dresser. A sticker on the corner.

This hotel is THE ULTIMATE WORST. Immediately after you walk in the doors and head to the front desk you can tell what your experience will be. You can smell a funky scent that is a mix of pool chemicals and mold. Just awful smells. When we get to the front dest they have a tremendous disorganization, you can tell that loos more like a "get your taxes done fast and cheap" place and not a hotel lobby/front desk. After we get our keys we head to our room (253). The hallways smelled horrible. Just think of it like the smell of the dirties gas station restroom with no air conditioner, can you imagine the smell now? We finally get into our room to escape the awful smell in the hallway and our room stinks so much more than the hallway!!!! We could believe the smell would get worst once in what was supposed to be a nice clean room. The beds didn't have fitted sheets, there was something like semen splashed all over the TV screen, the mattress were horribly stained with pee, food, beer, coffee, or probably diarrhea. The other mattress had bare wires and one of then would poke you when you sat down on it! Overall it was the most unsanitary and dirties and awful smelling hotel i have ever seen in my life. We checked in and 10 minutes later, with a raspy throat from inhaling the crap I smelled, we were at the front desk checking out again. We had trouble finding another hotel but thank god we did find one. If you love yourself and your family, just dont even consider this place, is cheap but so unsanitary! -Disappointed sleeper in Lubbock.

This hotel's slogan should be DGAF! My boyfriend and I stayed her after a long drive. We got in around 12p and walking into the hotel I heard the sound of a water fountain which to me means...Fancy! Keep in mind I was very tired and it was dark. We walked in our room and it looked like whoever painted the room committed a heinous crime on a can of white paint. It looked like a CSI episode but instead of blood everywhere it was white paint. On the floor, on the curtains. I am not an expert painter, in fact I am the worst but even I know you need a drop cloth and you remove the curtains before painting. And the accent wall you can tell they did not understand the concept of painters tape because the accent wall color bled onto the white wall. I'm like whatever, a little jackson pollock never hurt nobody. Apparently the cleaning people also DGAF because it was also very dirty. Random toys on the floor, stickers on the mirrors and the pillows! My God the pillows!!! They looked as if someone used them to dust (which would partially dispute my very dirty claim). ALSO THERE WAS A PUBE ON ONE OF THE PILLOWS!!!! This was 100% my fault for not doing my research or reading reviews before I booked the hotel. Learn from my mistake!

Stains in carpet near front entrance of room

We needed a couple of last-minute rooms late tonight in Lubbock. Found this place on Booking.com and the price was right. Hotel is an old Ramada Inn, and it's pretty obvious that it has not been updated since the mid-90's. Paint is worn, carpet is worn out, and it just does not have a fresh feel to it at all. The bathrooms were not clean, dust everywhere, odd smell, there were clumps of what looked like pizza sauce on the carpet, and the a/c unit looked like someone had smashed it repeatedly with a baseball bat. Also the shower in one of our rooms did not function at all. Beds are long overdue for replacement...not very comfortable. Staff was nice, but nothing was done about these problems, which was lame. I know that you get what you pay for, and it is true for this Red Roof Inn. Easily the worst chain hotel I've ever stayed in. Save your money...find another place. I have to say that after I contacted the manager and RRI (corporate), they did refund the entire amount for the rooms. That was more than I expected, and the reason for 2 stars. Hope they can turn the place around.

Overall the hotel is very good and is close to excellent. There were a few minor issues, but fortunately the front desk addressed my concerns. I am so glad I stayed at the Overton for my graduation. The customer service is top-notch which overcame the small issue of the loose border panel in room 1302 and the pillows not having pillow cases. This issue was quickly fixed and we were given breakfast vouchers as an apology. Overall this hotel is great and I will stay again whilst visiting Lubbock. (Suggestion for improvement, put a safe in each room). Despite the minor flaws, I will stay again and recommend others to stay at the Overton, too! Oh, the items offered at the breakfast buffet are delicious, especially the tomato grits, which I never had until staying at the Overton. The pool area is a nice place to gather. Thank you for providing a backdrop for a photo spot for graduation. Keep up the great work! I am eager to stay again the next time I visit Lubbock.

Horrible experience. Find another place to stay. The management, Selena, especially was the worst…read moreof it. No help at all. She said e pool was open when we complained all the anent were not available. Apparent, they just expect you to just ignore the dirt that's settled at the bottom. Additional photos to show the housekeeping services. Lazilymade the bed and didn't reset the pillows. Didn't take the time top prepare or properly clean the room, so don't lift your toilet lid. They likely don't either. The other room photos are likely for larger corporate or partner events. Leisurely travel is night and day because our room looked nothing like the photos. When it comes to shower water pressure, bring your own tools to clear the jets in the shower heads. These things have enough calcium build up to cure osteoporosis. In closing, Selena was unprofessional and needs to work on her people skills. She's also the one that said tue "dirt tank", aka pool, was open for use. She needs to be fired or at least get some actual hospitality management training. The only plus side was proximity to the Tech campus and Logie's. Now: bring your own laundry bag because athe one they gave us was the size of a gift bag ‍

To ensure this was addressed, we left the sofa pulled out so housekeeping would notice the area. However, when we returned, while the bed was made and the bathroom was clean, the floor was completely ignored. It was clear they simply cleaned around the mess. The lack of hygiene extended to the amenities as well. The coffee maker was extremely filthy, covered in thick dust and water stains, making it completely unusable. It is evident that deep cleaning is not a priority at this hotel. Furthermore, the room location was problematic; being on the same floor as the lounge, reception, and bar made it extremely noisy and busy. When we raised these concerns at checkout, the reception staff offered a simple 'sorry' but nothing more. There was no effort to compensate us for the poor service or the unsanitary conditions. We would not recommend staying here. Update: After posting, Hilton corporate reached out and provided some points to apologize for the experience.

My mother was having some trouble with her hip and is also afraid of elevators. Claudia kindly moved our room from the fourth floor to the second floor, which has easy access by an incline. That small change meant a lot to us and made things so much easier for my mom. Everyone we spoke with was so accommodating, friendly, and genuinely sweet. We haven't spent the night yet, but the room looks fantastic. We booked the King Suite, and it's wonderful -- a couch bed, a large conference-style desk for working, a big TV in the living area, and another TV in the bedroom, plus a spacious bathroom and closet. So far, we are extremely impressed. We'll update after our stay, but we definitely wanted to give a shout-out to Claudia and the front desk team for their kindness and excellent service.
