Mold in the air vent

First room I got had very heavy air of a moldy mildew. Luckily I was able to get my room switched. Air was less heavy but found mold in the vents... as well as the bathroom. If it wasn't for traveling with a company. I most definitely would have chosen a different hotel. This place does not meet Hilton standards.

Old beat up thrift store crap

This place is disgusting - I walked in, set my bags down, went to the bathroom and...hair in sink, shower, all over the floors... broken glass/plastic on floor Carpet was filthy, crumbs and debris all over it - not to mention really old (I would never take my shoes off in this room). Furniture was probably 20 years old, fabric worn OFF, showing piping, a chair stained like someone had vomited or urinated on it - seriously, the attached pictures make the chair look good - the only thing that could clean it would be fire Shower head holder broken off - screw anchors all over the shower wall. Door handle/lock about to fall out and a hole drilled in door above the lock I walked in, walked right back out - wanted another room, they said they were full, refused to refund because I didn't cancel 24 hrs in advance This place should be condemned

This is a ZERO star review we were completely misled by online photos. We were expecting a high class stay because we associate that with an Embassy suites. This was a major letdown and ruined our trip. The first room we got looked awful the desk was all scuffed and the couch looked dingy like it had never been cleaned. We opened our curtains to find a brick wall as our view with an abandoned ladder. The room overall just felt dirty and dark. The front desk person was nice and did change us to a new room which was barely a step up. The heater didn't work!! The "maintenance guy" told us to "bundle up" just in case. We were freezing all night! Especially by the window which let in a draft. We were hoping to enjoy the breakfast the next morning. It was a good selection but the potatoes were cold and the chef overhead and said no they aren't go eat somewhere else. This was after getting no sleep at all because of the uncomfortable beds and freezing room. Bathroom was tiny could barely step in and sit! Shower water got lukewarm nothing above this. Stay away from this hotel it looks like its from a 1950s apartment complex! Not worth the money, brings down the whole brand of Embassy.

Nice TV, but nothing connected to it.

STAY ANYWHERE BUT HERE!!! Normally my family enjoys Embassy Suites, but this particular one was a nightmare from the start. One of the driving factors for choosing the Embassy over our other favorite Staybridge Suites was that Embassy has a larger gym with more equipment. As it turns out, it's all show and no go. Half the equipment was non functional, none of the TV's worked on the machines nor the large one on the wall. There's a water dispenser in the gym but it had no cups nor water. Same situation with the water dispenser in the lobby near the front desk. The entire hotel is dark and depressing and as other reviewers mentioned in desperate need of a renovation/update. I was willing to overlook these issues and just suck it up for the weekend until around midnight. I came back from the gym to take a shower and wasn't able to get the water warmer than lukewarm. Then the game of "name that mystery stain" began. There was one on the towels and another on the sheets. I called down to the front desk and while waiting for the replacement sheets, I discovered a BED BUG!!! Oh hell no! That's when I packed up and left to a different hotel. Sooo nasty!!

Slow shower drainage. This picture is the next morning AFTER I called down to the front desk and gave them an opportunity to fix.

Second time staying at this hotel but never again. My first stay was underwhelming. I'm sure this place was nice at one point in time, but it's definitely past it's prime. DEFINITELY NOT WORTH THE NIGHTLY RATE THEY ARE CHARGING. I've stayed at much nicer options for way less. I ran the AC at 64 all day/night and was still sweating. I called the front desk to complain about our shower drainage which they said they'd look into (don't think they ever did). The picture shows what we had to shower in the next morning. Several of the linens that I inspected had holes/rips reflecting how worn out this place is. Hotel has a dark and gloomy vibe. Not a fan of the french doors. Feels eerie to dress in that area of the room especially if you need to utilize the sleeper. Breakfast buffet is nice BUT it doesn't open until 7:30 on weekends. We were in town for a sports tournament and usually have to be gone by 6:45/7 am. So unless we had a late start time, then the breakfast bar was basically useless to us. They only have 4 bag carts for such a large hotel. Of course trying checkout Sunday morning, and they're all taken. So there I was, a single woman, lugging bags down to the car for myself and my kids.

Run down-bathroom had a hole in the wall. Front desk staff was not very responsive. Could hear everything in bathroom next door.

Overall the hotel is very good and is close to excellent. There were a few minor issues, but fortunately the front desk addressed my concerns. I am so glad I stayed at the Overton for my graduation. The customer service is top-notch which overcame the small issue of the loose border panel in room 1302 and the pillows not having pillow cases. This issue was quickly fixed and we were given breakfast vouchers as an apology. Overall this hotel is great and I will stay again whilst visiting Lubbock. (Suggestion for improvement, put a safe in each room). Despite the minor flaws, I will stay again and recommend others to stay at the Overton, too! Oh, the items offered at the breakfast buffet are delicious, especially the tomato grits, which I never had until staying at the Overton. The pool area is a nice place to gather. Thank you for providing a backdrop for a photo spot for graduation. Keep up the great work! I am eager to stay again the next time I visit Lubbock.

She said e pool was open when we complained all the anent were not available. Apparent, they just expect you to just ignore the dirt that's settled at the bottom. Additional photos to show the housekeeping services. Lazilymade the bed and didn't reset the pillows. Didn't take the time top prepare or properly clean the room, so don't lift your toilet lid. They likely don't either. The other room photos are likely for larger corporate or partner events. Leisurely travel is night and day because our room looked nothing like the photos. When it comes to shower water pressure, bring your own tools to clear the jets in the shower heads. These things have enough calcium build up to cure osteoporosis. In closing, Selena was unprofessional and needs to work on her people skills. She's also the one that said tue "dirt tank", aka pool, was open for use. She needs to be fired or at least get some actual hospitality management training. The only plus side was proximity to the Tech campus and Logie's. Now: bring your own laundry bag because athe one they gave us was the size of a gift bag ‍

To ensure this was addressed, we left the sofa pulled out so housekeeping would notice the area. However, when we returned, while the bed was made and the bathroom was clean, the floor was completely ignored. It was clear they simply cleaned around the mess. The lack of hygiene extended to the amenities as well. The coffee maker was extremely filthy, covered in thick dust and water stains, making it completely unusable. It is evident that deep cleaning is not a priority at this hotel. Furthermore, the room location was problematic; being on the same floor as the lounge, reception, and bar made it extremely noisy and busy. When we raised these concerns at checkout, the reception staff offered a simple 'sorry' but nothing more. There was no effort to compensate us for the poor service or the unsanitary conditions. We would not recommend staying here. Update: After posting, Hilton corporate reached out and provided some points to apologize for the experience.

My mother was having some trouble with her hip and is also afraid of elevators. Claudia kindly moved our room from the fourth floor to the second floor, which has easy access by an incline. That small change meant a lot to us and made things so much easier for my mom. Everyone we spoke with was so accommodating, friendly, and genuinely sweet. We haven't spent the night yet, but the room looks fantastic. We booked the King Suite, and it's wonderful -- a couch bed, a large conference-style desk for working, a big TV in the living area, and another TV in the bedroom, plus a spacious bathroom and closet. So far, we are extremely impressed. We'll update after our stay, but we definitely wanted to give a shout-out to Claudia and the front desk team for their kindness and excellent service.
