Quick and pleasant checkin. Room was spacious and comfortable. Pillows a bit sparse......thank goodness I bought my own. Bathroom clean and good water pressure. Breakfast was OK, eggs, sausage, waffles, cereal, yogurt, and breakfast sandwiches Had a foot locker in my back seat and no one messed with it. Great location to Aboulas and Caprock Bar. read more

Fairfield Inn & Suites in Lubbock Texas. This hotel is located in an area where there are plenty of restaurants and fast food places to chose from. Most of these places are within walking distance!! This hotel is also easy off and easy on the freeway. Just cut through the park lot to get back on the freeway if you need to go in the opposite direction. There is also a Walmart and Murray gas station within the same parking area. Plenty of parking spaces as this hotel is close to 2 other hotels. Arrived at Fairfield and we were greeted by Bradley, a nice young man with a nice smile and great Texas manners. Right away Bradley made us feel at home and give us each a "welcome bag". The great thing about the "welcome bag" was that it had bottled water in it. We were not up graded to a "king suite" which is custom as we are lifetime platinum Marriott members but it was ok as we were treated well. This hotel has coffee & tea available in the lobby 24/7. And a Free small Continental breakfast in the lobby in the morning. Reason for 4 stars not 5 stars. No towels in fitness area and NO shower caps in room nor in the hotel!!?? Housekeeping said they were out!! Sorry not trying. Again nothing really bad as we got up in the morning did our exercise had some yogurt and coffee. Showered dress packed and left this place we had arrived around 5pm and checked out by 10am. It works. read more

Your very basic, 2-star hotel. Ample parking in the front and back of hotel. The interior is a bit outdated but not horrible. Indoor pool was out of commission (they're waiting on a part but I wish it was advertised that it's currently closed since that's one of our deciding factors in choosing a hotel) BUT they did mention we could use the Hampton suites pool next door. Breakfast was super basic, coffee wasn't very good, but the 3 stars are for the cleanliness, friendly personnel, shower water pressure, and central location. read more

This hotel is located near several restaurants and is easy to get to. Check-in was easy and everyone I encountered was really friendly. I also appreciate the size of the bathroom counter. There is plenty of room for your toiletries, etc. A lot of hotels have a tiny space. There are a few upgrades that I would make. They were out of coffee pods to make coffee in the room. I know everything is in demand currently but there are other Marriott properties. I hope they tried to borrow/buy some because this could be a big deal to people. There was coffee in the lobby that you could go down and get with tiny cups. It's still an inconvenience. Another example- in the breakfast area, they had a handwritten note on the toaster that says "left side broken". Really? Get a new toaster. Things like this don't align with Marriott brand standards in my opinion. At the end of the day, nice people and a comfortable bed so I would come back. read more

The hotels is within walking distance of several restaurants which made it very convenient. The Room was very clean and the beds comfortable. The breakfast was simple but hit the spot. It's always tough deciding where to stay in Lubbock. I consider most 2-3 star priced hotel properties by Wyndham, Marriott, & Hilton are pretty similar but yikes. This Fairfield Inn was pretty rough. Not a good experience. Long story short, make sure you double check your price when you check in. They took off one of our discounts on the room without telling us. When I contacted the manager, she said they did tell us. I double checked with my entire family and no one heard this. It was at the end of a long and very carefully budgeted vacation. We would not have just said "Oh, ok great" upon learning the price doubled. Also, if they had told us, we had other options like putting it in my name or staying next door. None of these options were discussed with us upon check in. If they had told us, we definitely would have asked about any other options before agreeing to take the room. I asked her to double check with her staff bc I don't think they are being truthful, but she stuck by the lie. That's what pushed me to write a bad review instead of letting it go, bc after all this I just got a sense that the staff here is very shady. They blatantly lied about telling us about the price range, and then the manager refused to do anything about it. She states that it is up to guests to understand Marriott policy, which might be the case with discounts and that is what it is, but I feel like any time your bill doubles, you should be told before you check out and automatically pay for it. Aside from all the bill trouble, I was a little concerned that so many of the problems repeated throughout the bad reviews listed here were still a problem when we stayed. Our room was given away and we were given the wrong key, tried to open someone else's door for several minutes. (This would have really freaked me out if I were that guest) The elevator was broken, pool closed etc. I thought the staff could have been friendlier when we stayed there but after communicating with the manager for a week, now I have no doubt. The breakfast was fairly good, so at least they have that going for them. I would like to add that we have not had any problems like this at any other Marriott location. Also while the manager here was borderline rude and frustrating to work with, customer service shared my concern about the shadiness of our experience and this location and worked diligently with me to get it corrected. I will continue to stay at Marriott hotels, but not this location. ETA: it has now been a month since customer service said we would be refunded. They OK'ed the refund, but it still has to go through the hotel manager. I have now called 4 times. One time I left a message, no reply. The other three times customer service called her to tell her to refund it. She told them she would. But still nothing...sooooo frustrating. read more

I stay nearly 300 nights a year on the road all of which are Marriott properties. This hotel is probably one of Marriott's worst run. I've stayed there 3 times only because it's close to my project. Front desk associate, big guy, loud, overbearing, rude, name might be Cory. Likes to blame "corporate" for everything. Booked a double queen. 2 sets of towels!! 1 packet of regular coffee...makes one whole cup!! No lotion. Elevator and halls dirty. Definitely not up to Marriott's standards. Hotel is older and could be nice if run by better people. Corporate rate high too! Contacted their sales department for frequent stay rates but have yet to get a callback. Marriott's satisfaction guarantee means nothing here. read more

NOPE. We made an online reservation, arrived and were told no room was available. "We don't know how you made a reservation because we don't have any rooms." Then someone had left early, so they said they would clean that room for us. We finally got into the room after 11 pm, and there were dirty sheets with visible hairs and black dirt. I had to call for clean sheets and change them myself, at midnight. Also, wifi code didn't work. Not happy, at all. Update: 1:00 am, my family was finally sleeping, and the door to our room was opened with a room key by a group of young men we've never seen before. I'm not sure what the hell is going on with this place, but it is NOT GOOD. If I could give zero stars I would. read more

We had a fabulous time staying at Fairfield over New Years weekend. Jack, one of the night clerks, was super friendly and very knowledgeable about the area. Because of his insight, we saw and experienced more of Lubbock than we could have imagined. Rooms were comfortable and economical, and the hotel was close convenient to the highway. This was the most unpleasant hotels we've stayed at in 2018. The bathroom in the first room they offered us was dirty so they gave us a different room. Unfortunately, the second room they gave us was dirty as well. The bathroom floor hadn't been clean nor had the room been vacuumed, though the bedding was clean. The biggest problem, however, was the noise. We were woken in the middle of the night on the second night of our stay by a group of high school boys who were hollering to one another in the halls and banging doors behind them as they went in and out of rooms. Then, the room directly next to us decided to watch television and turned the volume up rather loud. We called the front desk, but they either weren't in a hurry to respond or else decided not to. We will not be returning and likely won't be staying at a Fairfield again any time soon. read more

We were in route of relocating from Washington State to Georgia and drove through Texas on 1/30/2020 and this is where we ended up. As a Gold Elite member we as a family have expectations and this location on did not even reach the scale to be measured by that bar. We waited 20+ minutes to check in as the lady at the front desk was having a conversation with the person in front of us about food and personal experiences, not once did she acknowledge our presence, when she finally wrapped up her personal time it took all of 1 minute to give us our keys. I know hotels are not responsible for items stolen from peoples vehicles but we were told it was a safe area and that we should be just fine, the night shift keeps a lookout we were told, this was not the case for us, we were robbed and they stole everything. The hotel has no cameras outside which meant we were screwed all together, filing a case number with local authorities was the only action that could be taken. Till this day, neither management from the hotel nor Marriott personnel have reached out with regards to my family's loss, and I am beyond disappointed with their disconnect. All I can say is I'm thankful there are other options that my family and I can use in the future where our business can be more appreciated and valued by our commitment. So in regards to this hotel, operations is a joke, respect is non existent, and because of what it lacked and what we experienced I'm happy to give up the gold elite status we earned to better assure appreciation and care for my family. read more

My brother has ALS and is confined to a wheelchair. So, my mother made a reservation 30 days in advance and asked the person on the phone to ensure he had the accessible room. Then, on the way to the hotel I called at 6:00 pm to confirm the reservation and confirm it was the accessible room. The clerk said yes everything is fine and it was not a problem for us to check in at 9:00 pm. When we arrived, the clerk (the same one I talked to at 6:00) could not find the reservation and had already given away that room. They were totally booked and could not help us. Almost all of the local hotels were booked. We finally found a place at 11:00 pm, but the shower was not accessible. So, my brother had to go all weekend without a shower. Cleaning staff has a ridiculous policy of throwing away your once-used soap, shampoo, etc even though you are not finished using them and still have one or two nights left. What a waste! They also threw away my personal face wash! I complained and was told I would get credited with a few hotel points. I'm not holding my breath. Also, could not reserve 2 queens without calling. Noisy air conditioning in the room would not stop when in the auto position, a light kept flickering all night long on a smoke detector above the bed, the sheets and covers barely reached the edge of the bed, and the people up stairs stomped on the floor all night long.
