I recently stayed at the Elegante when my company hosted an event there. Something about the decor/vibe seemed sketchy and the fountain and elevator weren't working but I think they were being renovated. With that said, I was blown away by so many things. From check in, when I was greeted with a friendly attitude to check out, a safe drop off from a really friendly shuttle driver. My room was so nice! There is a restaurant and bar onsite so why leave? Breakfast is included with stay and I loved the omelet station! The staff at the Elegante went above and beyond for our event. I always give a shout out when a hotel has a working printer in the Business Center- I highly recommend the Elegante! read more

Okay, after reading many of the reviews here I had a sense of trepidation. First the positives: an outstanding staff; place was very clean.( at least my room) and the breakfast is awesome. Complaints. It looks like an older hotel that has had some refurbishing, but not a total makeover. There are a few dings in the furniture and the walls, giving it kind of a weathered look. I don't know if they plan to do some more cosmetic touches but a little bit would go a long way. Overall a good value, but not on the level of the Hilton or Hyatt. read more

The entrance has a roomie side room with coffee and food. The front desk staff was accommodating and happy. The room was large and well equipped with every modern convenience. It was also very clean and well stocked with towels. Highly recommend any traveler. read more

NOVEMBER 2025 STAY: Stayed at my favorite hotel in Lubbock again 11/17-11/19/2025. Another amazing experience. Very comfy, love the amenities. Shout out to the female restaurant manager who i usually see at breakfast, sometimes during lunch, cannot recall her name. She recognized me from my June visit, and was ever so hospitable, friendly with a smile. I asked for a substitution of chicken for salmon, not expecting they could do it. Not only was I accommodated, but it was a lower price. She's definitely a keeper! The food was delicious & plentiful. Packed up enough leftovers for dinner. JUNE 2025 STAY: We stayed at MCM Elegante for 4 nights in the King suite. The price was great & definitely affordable. They put us on the 1st floor Atrium, which was convenient, cuz I can't walk far. We were initially going to stay for 3 nights, but had to extend. Staff was helpful to give me good rate for the 4th night. Housekeeping is daily, or however often you prefer. Front desk dispatch is speedy for anything else you need during the stay. Room was clean & comfortable. Microwave , Keurig coffee, refrigerator & space to store snacks, leftovers & beverages. Breakfast was delicious & plentiful with hot, cold & portable offerings. Made to order egg & omelette station for custom fare. Staff will give you to-go boxes if you don't have time to eat there, or if someone in your room hasn't woken up yet. That includes hot/cold beverages of your choice. We ate at Rustler's Cafe a couple of times for lunch & dinner. Delicious food, good service & priced right. We had cocktails in the Chill Zone lounge area. Drinks priced right, variety of house & top shelf spirits, as well as beer and wine. Bartender so friendly & helpful. We used the indoor pool during our stay. It was so nice to swim after a long day. There's a pool monitor employee that oversees the area. There's always clean towels stocked, rules posted, lounge chairs. We really enjoyed it. Next time we're in town we'll stay here again. This is a low end hotel. I wouldn't take my wife here. I stayed here alone for a meeting. Rooms are very tired and need repairs badly. Internet never worked in my room. Ceiling was falling down above the bath tub. Water pressure was good tho. The staff in the restaurant were very friendly. Faith always had a smile and was quick to take care of us when we ate there. This was my second visit to the Chill Zone Lounge, and this time I wanted to try the Ultimate Burger. A patron on my last visit mentioned how tasty it was and that the fresh jalapenos were hot! Well they were and that was the best part of the meal. This place had the potential to be a 4 star restaurant/lounge. What a let down. -1 star I ordered the 8 oz Ultimate Burger and asked for it Med Rate. I was told Medium was the best they could offer. Burger came out Well Done. Burger was reminiscent of burgers I had in elementary school. I am certain they are low-quality pre-formed patties. Horrible place to stay, if want COVID this will probably be a good place. Samatha Garcia the manager was not very accommodating after I reported the nasty uncleaned room. The toilet had dried pee stains on it and around it, the mattress had fresh blood and other fluids coming through the sheets, small bugs crawling in bed. Mrs. Garcia called me a racist name and said a curse word. Mrs. Garcia and the front desk and cleaning staff harassed me for 2 days there at that nasty hotel. The way I was harassed by the illegals working there it felt like the cartels were after me and they had called my employment several times and were threatening to call the police on me for a simple complaint. If I could them a -5 I would. I had brought in 125 kids from FWISD for a competition. After reporting it to the Director, she stated that she had stayed in worse. Stayed there for a Tech Football weekend. The room was on the third floor and the windows were filthy looking out to the roof equipment and the bathroom was very old. The toilet flowed so slow we were scared to use it and the shower drained so slow there was 1-2 inches of water in the tub by the time it was over. The hotel was informed and sent a nice man to address the issue, and the next day the same situation. This hotel needs a serious makeover and updating. The staff were very friendly and helpful. However, that was the highlight of the stay. The pictures on their website are NOT of the Lubbock location. I stayed there during a visit to see my son at Texas Tech University. The first room we stayed in had a terrible smell which we discovered the next morning was a leaky toilet seeping water/sewage under the tiles of the bathroom. They were able to move us to another room down the hall when we asked the next morning. The second room did not smell, however, there was mold growing on the bathroom ceiling as well as mold stains around the tub & grout lines. The corner shower shelves were pulling out of the tile they were drilled into and the towels, though clean, had seen better days. The walls were a lighter version of "Harvest Gold" giving everything a dark and grimy appearance. Overall, was not worth the price and felt like Motel 6's cousin but with a little lipstick. read more

The staff here is extremely nice. Ladies both at the front desk and Christina at the bar. Always a smile when greeting you and informative with the area. Met a few people at the bar that made me feel like I was already a local. This establishment was really clean and had a lot to offer from the pool and gym. Pros: Staff was very nice. We had breakfast, lunch and dinner in the restaurant and were pleased with the food and cleanliness. The lounge area was very comfortable and we enjoyed the coffee and bar options. Cons: The bathroom was disgusting.... Absolutely gross. The fan in the room sounded like an airplane and we couldn't turn it off. Almost impossible to fall asleep to. Couldn't get the AC to feel comfortable. It was hot/cold all night. The hairdryer didn't work at all and the bathtub wouldn't drain. Overall it wasn't the worst hotel but they could at least clean the toilet and make sure everything works. This property could use a serious update!! The staff is polite and eager to assist. Free breakfast buffet in the mornings. Great location overall with close proximity to downtown museums and convention center. The hotel hallways seem sterile and uninviting. I personally didn't care for the bathroom setup with bathtub and toilet separated by a door from the vanity/sink area. The bed and pillows and awesome and super comfy! The carpet in my room was stained and dingy looking. I kept my shoes on. The level of cleanliness definitely needs to be stepped up! The couch in my room looked gross but may just be old. Once again, an update is needed! Overall good experience from this stay. With some updating I'm sure this property would achieve a higher star rating. read more

Not impressed. The staff was great! But the hotel is in serious need of updating. It was not gross, but it was not clean. Very worn down. I think there are different 'towers' and maybe some rooms are better than ours, but I would never recommend this place to a family. Pay the extra twenty bucks and stay at the Holiday Inn. Oh, also we had NO WATER after 9am during our stay.......and offered no discount for the inconvenience. read more

The carpet was sticky. There was dirt visible on the bedding. The shower curtain was moldy. The pool is locked unless a staff memeber is present to monitor your activities. On a positive note, the doors locked. I did not let this affect my rating, but I do think people should know that they will be greeted by the Ten Commandments and multiple God, Jesus messaging in the lobby. This may be a welcome choice to some visitors but is not inclusive to many. read more

This is a great hotel for Texas Tech travel. The beds were very comfortable, the staff are all nice and eager to help. Breakfast was pretty good and it was nice to have access to the bar after the game (but last call is 9:55pm). Shuttle will take you to Tech and the airport. Will definitely stay again. read more

Well, 3 stars is probably aa appropriate rating! Not overly disgusting but definitely not top of the line! Pretty run down, lobby is updated but halls and rooms need work ! Started the week with a broken phone jack on wall and a pen laying next to it, that was never fixed or picked up. Then there was the toilet seat that wouldn't stay up, I had to hold it up with my knee while trying to "pee," good thing I'm talented, and the slow draining shower tub because of gobs of hair in the drain, told them 3 times, never got fixed. Then there was the refrigerator, 3 of us in different rooms had all of our stuff frozen and ruined. Then the phone on the night stand that didn't even have a cord attached to it, like a movie prop? Then the garbage behind the chair that was never cleaned from past patrons, who knows how long? And we finished the week off with a giant cockroach! You make your decision? It was a work trip so I'm not sure of the cost, but hope it wasn't expensive? Not the worst ever, but not the best. I'll try to post some of the photos... read more

We go to the Hotel Elegante for their meals. Their cooks are amazing. All of their salad dressings are house-made, and their desserts made on-site. Today we were there for the Easter Brunch with fresh, beautifully rare leg of lamb. Also the best pie I have ever had--apple caramel pie. It had the softest, most flaky crust. It's too bad more people don't know about the hotel and its excellent food, always perfectly prepared. The staff are friendly and attentive, but not intrusive. I noticed other comments on the hotel about all the mention of the owners' belief in God. I think this is simply a feature of the local and regional culture. You will find hotels and restaurants in other states such as Missouri and Mississippi that have overt references to a Christian God. It is not a bad thing. They're not being exclusionary. read more

We loved our stay in this hotel. Nicely updated. Bath and body works products in our bath. Beauty Rest mattress on our very clean bed! (I am an under the cover checker!!! Their breakfast was amazing. The staff were so helpful and the chef made amazing omelettes, pancakes, or waffles (or all three). When we arrived, I wasn't sure about the location because I hadn't been in Lubbock for decades!! I'm glad that they put the engraving of the 10 commandments outside the front door so you can check off all of the ones that were probably broken in that building the night before. This barely adequate hotel is just that. Sheets were torn and ratty. The bathtub would not drain. The property looks dated. I have to unplug the clock and move furniture in order to plug in my phone. Heck, had to iron my shirt in the bathroom just to find a damn outlet to plug it into. Place needs some work to become a good business class hotel. read more

If you need wi-fi, don't stay here. Yelpers have been reporting since 2015 that it's no good, and I can assure you, it hasn't been attended to. It is unusable. The front desk said "the general manager has been notified" and suggested I use the business center, but I was told by other guests that was no better. Hotel commandment #1: Thou Shalt Provide Wi-Fi. I was with a group and many reported bathtubs that didn't drain. Gross. This has also been reported on Yelp for a couple of years and appears it's not getting better. My bathtub drained, but was slow. Hotel Commandment #2: Thou Shalt Provide Working Plumbing. Rooms are very shabby and furniture/paint/decor is dated. The Comforter on the bed did not have a cover and had a tag that said Dry Clean Only. I had to wonder if it was actually clean. Hotel Commandment #3: Thou Shalt Occasionally Update Thy Decor and Bedding. I experienced very mild weather during my stay so didn't need to test adequacy of AC/Heating. But each time I arrived in the room, Housekeeping had drawn the black-out curtains, I'm guessing to keep the room cool. I found it creepy to arrive mid-day to a room that was completely dark. Upon opening the curtains, I found another reason they were drawn.....the windows were absolutely filthy. Hotel Commandment #4: Thou Shalt Provide Working A/C and Clean Windows. No A/C outlet available near the bed. In this day and age most travelers plug and charge their phones next to the bed. This needs to be addressed. Hotel Commandment #5: Thou Shalt Provide Charging Capability Next to The Bed. Now the good stuff: I agree with all the Yelpers that say the staff is super friendly and welcoming. They are all great, from the front desk to the food and beverage service. A huge plus. My room was very quiet. The breakfast buffet was very extensive (although the Starbucks coffee taste watered down, a huge minus). Having a restaurant and bar on-site is convenient, and their food/drink prices are very reasonable. My room and bathroom were adequately cleaned when I arrived and each day thereafter. The shuttle was very convenient from the airport and the shuttle driver was over the top friendly and helpful. So it's not all bad, and if you can get a reasonable room rate it's okay, but no wi-fi is a deal-breaker for me, as are bathtubs that won't drain and inadequate AC in hot weather. read more

Check in was easy. Front desk super nice. Our room was clean. Liked how the vanity/sink and the toilet/shower rooms were separate. That makes it easier for two people to get ready at once. The Bath and Bodyworks shampoo and conditioner were great. However, the VERY SLOWLY DRAINING bath tub is a little annoying. We went down about 8 to eat and sat in the dining room for a while before finally moving over to the chill zone so we could get waited on. This is my only complaint about the hotel. Not sure if the waitress was having to cook and serve drinks but it took FOR EVER to get drinks. The breakfast was awesome! But that dining room is super small when a lot of people come in at once. It would be great if they would space the coffee away from the juice because it caused a traffic jam. And all the complaints about the neighborhood it wasn't that bad. Although the parking lot sucks because if there's something going on you have to park a long way off. While we were there a Jehovah's witness convention was going on downtown. Excellent experience at this hotel. I booked two rooms in person as I was in a pinch due to our original hotel being a disgusting fraud. We were greeted immediately by Zeke at the front desk. The whole experience with him was on caliber with a vacation resort. Wonderful guy. The rooms were immaculate. Beds were comfortable and all the linens were crisp, clean and of high quality. The entire hotel was very clean and laid out well. All of the staff were professional, yet warm. The free breakfast is very good. I highly recommend this hotel. read more

Very friendly staff and very clean! The hotel needs some updating. Minor things such as broken light switch covers to the bathroom door not shutting and the base of the bathtub being so worn out theres basically a 1 inch gap from one side of the tub to the middle. The hotel was packed so I'm sure they are getting enough profit to fix these? I mean a light switch cover is what $2 at the most? It's a very nice hotel so I guess I'm just confused by the damage not being fixed. I have read other recent reviews stating they could tell there were renovations being made but I didn't see that. The food was great! Their fries are hand cut and tasty and we got there late for breakfast but what we got was really good! read more

Update..3 years later and I arrived to the desk and was greeted warmly, my room was ready and waiting. I was in a lovely suite. There was a sitting area, with sofa, chair and tables. My room opened up to the fountain area and that was pretty. Parking was easy and plentiful. The room was very clean and well appointed. There was a little fridge, microwave and a Kurig coffee maker. The room provides Bottled water, popcorn and coffee and tea. Vanity area was well designed and excellent soaps, shampoo and lotion. Towels nice and plentiful. The best thing in the room is that bed. The best mattress anywhere. Pillows are great...(not little bouncy blobs of foam.) lush comfortable pillows. Free all you can eat breakfast comes with the room..not just any breakfast..it's a "Spread" with made to order omelets and waffles. Fresh fruit, cereals, biscuits, juices, breakfast meats, potatoes...it's all on the buffet. The evening you get two complimentary cocktails at the bar. The bar also has Starbucks coffee and bottled waters. The restaurant also has lunch and dinner and I did not eat one thing that wasn't delicious. There is a clean sparkling pool in a secured area, work out room and just a lovely atmosphere. Friendly people found throughout the hotel. read more

We arrived around 10:30pm & checked in with the annoyed front desk attendant, asked for our reserved crib & went to our room. About two hours & four phone calls later, someone arrived at out door saying that "they ran out of cribs, but here is a blanket if you want to make her a pallet". Very disturbed by this I asked to speak to the manager, in which I was told there was no overnight acting manager. They stated that the gentleman was new & did not know where to find the cribs. I will not take this as an excuse because he could have asked somebody who would know where the cribs are. An hour later he brings a crib apologizing of what he had done. We felt a little better as we realized that maybe he did not mean to intend harm. As we went to set up the crib, there was no bottom piece attached for the mattress to sit on. The next morning we went to enjoy our complementary breakfast & we stopped by the front desk. I told the front desk attendant about the situation in which she rudely replied "oh ya they told me about YOU, I'll have them bring one up to you". As we entered the restaurant for our food, we were told that breakfast ended at 10am, even though the front desk told us 10:30am & all the menus in the hotel room state 10:30am. As the waitress was being polite by asking the food attendants to leave the food for a couple of minutes longer they abruptly replied "you know they're probably lieing about the time, they always do"...Five additional families came in after us stating the same breakfast time. We were not upset by the situations, we just did not like the way they were carried out. The man who brought the crib to begin with should of found the resources to the crib instead of bringing us a blanket. Whoever is responsible for menus & time changes should make others aware to decrease future conflicts. read more

Best night's stay for your money! Clean spacious rooms. QUIET rooms! They even brought us a cot and extra bedding before we made it to our room after checking in. Housekeeping staff was available at 10pm when requesting extra towels too! EVERY staff member I came into contact with was extremely pleasant and helpful. Did I mention FREE Breakfast! It isn't just pastries and cereal either! Omelette bar, waffles, bacon, sausage, French toast, waffles, fresh fruit, biscuits and gravy AND MORE!! Small indoor pool for the kids. Consistently come here monthly for a weekend. This place is running down pretty badly. Toilets leak, yoilet seats don't stay up, some showers don't drain properly, and wifi is horrible. Everything technically works and the service is ok but I would see if any newer places are available. read more
