TLDR; skip this horrible carvel and go to the East rockaway one…read more I've come here a few times and it just never goes well. This time really just destroyed any chance of me being back. This carvel always has either young teens working who don't care at all and don't know how to do anything, or the entire owners family working who also don't care. This time was the latter. Clearly the owners son and daughter were working while he was just sitting there watching them. The son, who had to be like 14, took the orders. He had no idea what was happening, he kept looking to his sister who wouldn't help him at all. He didn't know what any of the toppings were, it was just a disaster. Every time I go in here I try to get a fresh bonnet (I just don't like the frozen as much) and they tell me they are out of the bonnet sauce but that the ones in the freezer were just made. As someone who worked for carvel, they are just lying because they are too lazy to make it. Those cans are huge and lasted a month. It's just not possible they are always out. Usually I don't complain about hairs in food because humans are humans and it happens sometimes but pulling out a long hair of the ice cream right after all of this was just the cherry on top for me. They just don't care at all in there

For as long as I have been alive, they have had the most consistent blend. Their soft serve Vanilla smooth and creamy. Definitely the best half of that ice cream cake. ;) Add their mid-week BOGO promo and you have a great deal. I have always been a fan of their soft: Pistachio, Strawberry and Vanilla, yes in that order, but this trip my local East Rock location was dishing up soft Mint! With it being BOGO Wednesday I had to go for it. What a Surprise and true delight! It reminded me of Mint chip, without the chips! That's right smooth and creamy like it should be, making it a Carvel classic. This trip during a time of isolation 3.25.20 [Corona19 pandemic], I'm proud that this local business was still serving it up to the community. Being that I was out picking up a togo lunch order across the way, figured definitely stop in to support them too. So ordered it up to stock up: 1 medium soft Vanilla with Strawberries and rainbow sprinkles, 1 Free medium soft Mint with Caramel and rainbow sprinkles, and of course a Pistachio pint! ;) Carvel Cares, Keep Strong through this! :)
