Dreams of younger years are always had when I see a TCBY...Why you ask, well because as a teenager I'd swap at least one lunchtime period in High school to do dessert for lunch. My all time favorite was always WhiteChocolate Mousse with PBcups or straight up liquid gold...Peanut Sauce folks! I noticed this Independence Day [2019], that my savvy smart phone chirped and alerted me to a Verizon members deal of getting 6oz of a TCBY frozen delectable Free...so that was it, I had to go back and revisit. We all know you are going to get more than 6oz [pay for the +difference], and it was a nice, hot, summertime day so lets jump in! I stopped into the Lynbrook location and was pleasantly surprised to see such a change from childhood. They look more like one of the modern day 16 Handles or Swirls type of locations. You serve yourself the flavor(s) that you like, add desired topping(s), weigh and pay! This location was super clean from the floors, small seating area to the machines and toppings station. That's exactly what everyone wants to see. Especially when you are treating yourself to a sweet treat and use to scoop ice cream as a youth...I know how messy it can get. I noticed they still had my all time favorite WhiteChocolate Mousse...Hooray! Although they had more temping flavors that I just had to try from TCBY. I mean its reduced far yogart right, so as an adult that still calorie conscious, especially as an Elite #LIYelper why not. Therefore a small dollop of this and that...well of Salted Caramel, Peanut Butter, Strawberry, Pistachio and a double dollop or perfect swirl of WhiteChocolate Mousse to shape the mosaic masterpiece. I didn't see the liquid peanutbutter, but opted for a few fresh strawberries and a sprinkle of the mini cookie dough pieces. I had to ask self, "Where was this serve your own masterpiece when we were younger", but then again probably good that we didn't because 1) We didn't have that kind of lunch money given to us [at least I didn't at $1.15 for the school lunch, vs going out for the walk to the local stores]. 2) I like many others that were athletes would have burned the calories [the toppings folks, not the reduced fat/calories yummy yogart], but I'm sure other kids wouldn't have (and they question the increase of juvenile diabetes & obesity levels these days). Nevertheless, this was a wonderful treat to kick off the tastebud fireworks this 4th of July. I can see myself infusing this location, with my other frozen favorites. First of all, they have a taro flavor !! That should be reason enough to visit this location. I was warmly welcomed by an older gentleman( forgot to ask his name !) He was super helpful and professional. There was another customer who was trying to passively skip ahead of me/pretend she didn't see me, but the man behind the counter handled the situation professionally and didn't allow me to have a bad experience despite this other rude customer. Nice variety of toppings for sure and plenty of flavors. My gripe is really not with this location but just with TCBY in general. There price per ounce when they weigh it with the toppings is absolutely ridiculous. The equivalent price for what you would get at coldstone or Friendly's or 16 handles makes TCBY a complete rip-off. read more

I haven't been here in 15+ years but two things have remained the same since last I came. The yogurt is incredibly cold and the white chocolate macadamia nut is fantastic. I considered taking off a star as some of the flavors aren't great (the coffee tastes like my butt, presumably although I can't confirm), but this place is so clean and well lit and enjoyable that I just didn't have the heart to. There are plenty of excellent flavors as well. Pistachio is quality as well. Enjoy it, kids. read more

I love almost everything about this place. It's clean, the yogurt is fantastic, and the variety of toppings is amazing. Typically self serve yogurt places can get messy and look unappealing; that's not the case here. I took off a star for one reason: you cannot sample flavors yourself. Ass. Complete ass. As a young boy (lied about my age I'm only 14 so I can just write this) it was a complete scam of my 17.25 and had to borrow money from a friend. My froyo came out to 18.37 and it was only 2. As you enter there is a deceiving sign that says in big font $6.40 right above the bowls but in a much smaller front it states that it is for a separate item being sold. Besides the horrible pricing and bad service the actual frozen yogurt was disgraceful. The mint flavor tasted as if I had Colgate toothpaste lingering from previously sucking down a whole can of toothpaste or mouthwash. Bad quality yogurt as well because it melted so soon and bad flavors with not a lot of variety and choice. I would score it a zero but that cannot be done. read more

I love TCBY! I think it is such a neat idea to make your own sundae with the self serve. The white chocolate mousse is my boyfriend and my favorite. Also the raspberry is delicious. The price is determined by weight which could be tricky if your eyes are bigger than your stomach. They only have two cup sizes and both are huge! So be careful. I took off one star cause one of the workers seemed like such a crank ball when my very pregnant friend asked for ONE sample before she decided if she liked a flavor or not. I caught her rolling her eyes. Also she was rude when i asked her what time they closed. If you cant handle being in a customer service industry, then don't work in one. Located in the little shopping center across from the Lynbrook LIRR Station this TCBY is clean and convienent. The staff has always been very nice staff and there is plenty of parking. They sport at least 8 flavors of soft serve, which provides plenty of options. But I always find TCBY to be a bit overpriced. read more

I stopped by here on a Sunday afternoon and it was totally worth the trip from manhattan! I pulled into the shopping plaza it's in and was very happy to see there was plenty of free parking in front of the store. There was not one other customer in there which was great for me. Nothing bothers me more than when they have a long line at self serve yogurt places and you have to watch your yogurt melt as you're waiting to pay. The price was decent at .49 cents an ounce. They even had dipped waffle cones that you could put your yogurt in but those were an additional $3 and probably at least an extra 200 calories. They had more than the standard flavors they have at other yogurt chains. I saw bananas foster, hazelnut and white chocolate mousse flavors. I sampled white chocolate, hazelnut and golden vanilla. All were fantastic! The texture of the yogurt was so smooth and thick. I could've eaten a whole pint. I decided to get the classic Tcby flavor white chocolate mousse. It was one of the best yogurts I have ever eaten. My only complaint about the store is it was way too hot in it. There was no air conditioning on and if you're eating your yogurt in the store it would have melted fast. So I got at least 13 ounces of yogurt and the quality stayed perfect until I finished it. If I lived close I would be here everyday. Definitely come here when you're craving yogurt. It is sooo much better than the other local yogurt chains! read more

TCBY was the starter of the "Yogurt" trend. With all the many yogurts shops openings, TCBY still stands the top of their game with good quality tasting yogurt. I've tried the "new" self serve places and their yogurt doesn't stand a chance and after your done adding on the toppings a small can run you $5.50. The self serve, $.39 cents an ounce doesn't seem that fun anymore. I'd rather have someone take my order and have a delicious tasting yogurt with toppings for half the price. read more
