I wanted to establish a relationship with a new mechanic closer to home. After looking at reviews, I thought I'd try Ralph's. The reviews were good and stated he was fair and honest. I called on a Wednesday to make an appointment for an inspection and oil change. They scheduled me for that Friday. I dropped my car off in the AM before opening and handed my paperwork to Ralph. I got a call later in the afternoon that I had an exhaust leak and needed a gasket and spring bolt kit. I don't know what changed since my last mechanic inspected this. Anyway, Ralph wouldn't pass my inspection without this. So I authorized the work and had to fork out an additional $136+ dollars. I go to pick up my car later that day, pay for their service, get into my car and immediately notice that my glove box and center console were ransacked. I had to be somewhere so I left, knowing I had nothing of real value in either compartment. I later checked and didn't see anything missing. Later I also observed that there was grease on the outside of my door, grease on the inside of my door, grease on my steering wheel and gear shifter, as well as grease on my AC and radio controls. But the worst part? There was blood on my interior door panel along with the grease. They never bothered to protect my interior from dirt, and during a pandemic, left me with their blood to clean up. Also, I noticed that now oil was leaking onto my driveway. So they either didn't tighten the filter enough, or cross threaded the filter when they installed it. There was also damage to my roof top cargo carrier from when they had my car on the lift. I called Ralph's four times and left four messages and did not receive a call back. I even contacted them on their Facebook page. They ignored me. Attached are pictures of the car door with grease and blood. I will never use Ralph's again, nor will I recommend them to family, friends or anyone else for that matter. I am also considering other legal options at this point. read more
