I loved the Ralph Foster museum. They call it the Smithsonian of the Ozarks. It takes the better part of the day to visit. The title is very accurate. I grew up spending entire summers in the Ozarks, and the showcases at this museum brought back tons of memories. What was impressive was the fire arm exhibit. It is on the 2nd floor off the elevator. That and the Kewpie dolls were worth my $6.After the fire arms exhibit, I was exhausted. They have every firearm you can think of. Pocket sizes, Derringers, Magnums, revolvers, .38's, rifles, and an entire Smith and Wesson display that if you like firearms, you'd salivate over. If it shoots, it's there. I like Kewpie dolls too. That museum that's over on 65 before entering Branson? Forget it. Go to this museum. You'll get the history and an impressive doll display. In the wild animal area there's a zebra, and several other animals, for historical purposes. The Ralph foster museum leaves nothing behind. There's a wonderful Missouri music hall of fame area. You'll leave there thinking about it, and about everything you see. Students are guards, and also take your admission. They are very mature and very helpful. If you're in the area, trust me...if you want to see something cool, stop by this museum.

The exhibits are powerful and respectful, honoring service members across generations in a meaningful way. The staff and people you encounter are welcoming and genuinely kind, adding to the overall experience. Located right in the heart of Branson, it's a convenient and worthwhile stop that leaves a lasting impression.

From Pearl Harbor to Fort Monroe, Little Bighorn to Fort De Soto and everywhere in between, we've been there. Like many Americans I've had grandparents, aunts, uncles, and extended family going back every generation that we've traced that have served in US wars going back to the Revolutionary War. I had to speed through some rooms to get to a spot where I was alone so I could catch my breath to stop the tears welling in my eyes. I'm extremely critical of the US Military Industrial Complex and it makes me so angry and sad to see all the names of the people who died and their families ripped apart for the benefit of bankers, military contractors and politicians. There are a lot of neat artifacts in here going back to WWI. My favorite artifact was the vest for a carrier pigeon. If you're interested in politics or history or the military, this is a nice museum to stop at as an adult. I wouldn't bring small children here because the subject matter is too heavy. Engine, inside, outside looked nice but the engine was shot. They wouldn't let me test drive it off the premises so I couldn't tell much just driving it in the parking lot. It was running badly but like a lot of classic cars I thought it was cold and needed to warm up. I got it home and it was still running badly. I called them back and I got the message machine. I never heard from them again. I had the carburetor adjusted, didn't help. I put new plugs and wires, (tune up) didn't help. I changed the distributer. didn't help. Checked the compression, THERE IT WAS. No compression on every cylinder. I called again, no answer, left a message. Never heard from them again. Out enjoying the money I just gave them I guess! I'm rebuilding the motor now. It's been a little over a year since the parts are hard to find for a Buick 340. Again, BE CAREFUL AND CHECK EVERYTHING. THEY ARE UNTRUSTWORTHY!
