The owner was very mean after our trial. She avoided speaking to me after our trial and then I had to run after her to ask questions. She then muttered something about my son being too rowdy. I'm telling my friends and families to stay away from this place. Funny because so many people have told me that they had a bad experience here as well.

Very strange place…read more We were looking for a gymnastics place since my daughter expressed interest in returning to a gymnastics class now that things are open again. The closest ones to us are Bayshore Elite and this place, and Bayshore Elite had no spots for her age. My husband and I visited this place in person since we happened to be in San Carlos for shopping to understand their classes / signup process better, since the website didn't have a schedule of when the classes would be (of course, if the days of the week / time doesn't work for us, we can stop considering it). The facility is in downtown SC. They don't seem to let people in through the actual storefront address, so you go through this somewhat creepy alley attached to either a hotel or apartment complex and end up at their back entrance which is apparently where parents drop their kids off. I was appalled - the area is gated by a chain link fence and a badly maintained tarp, and looked like a garbage dump that I felt very leery about leaving my child at. I asked the adults in charge (coaches I guess?) who I could speak to about classes and they directed me to a grumpy woman who was very standoffish and flat out rude. She insisted that we had to sign their waiver before we could take a look at the facility (for general cleanliness, ventilation, upkeep), which was beyond odd since we were not getting on the equipment or trialing a class. Ok - I then requested a schedule so I could see if their classes even work for us. I don't know if she assumed we were suspicious people because we didn't have our child with us at the moment, but she then told us to go to the front of the building to get let in. Then, while we stood in front of the building as directed, she stood at the front desk not doing anything and proceeded to ignore us for over 10 minutes. I understand the concern for safety of children, but as a business owner, she could have also answered our question about class scheduling and with COVID still a concern, I definitely want to make sure any facility doing close contact sports is clean and has decent air quality - even before my child comes here for any evaluation. In fact, I'm curious what they were hiding by not letting us see the facility in person. Well, only because pickings are slim in the Bay Area for any child activity spots, and worse since COVID, I get home, get on their website, and grudgingly complete their waiver which asked for tons of info that I wasn't dying to give out if I didn't know whether I wanted to even engage further with this place. We didn't hear back beyond that, after they collected all our info. Hell, I also filled out the evaluation form to see if I could get her evaluated and again, didn't hear back. Anyways, rude staff, bad condition and SMALL facility, and I honestly wish the peninsula had better options closer to home.

I recently had a terrible experience at this facility with my daughter. After reading similar…read morereviews, I realize this was not an isolated incident. My daughter has attended several classes here, and she has complained to me about the constant switching of coaches, which has made her feel uncomfortable. At her age, she wants to have some familiarity with her coach and build a relationship with them. Completely understandable. The coaches appear to be young, with some being attentive while others seem disengaged, even using their phones during her class. This is understandable to some degree with teenage coaches, but the lack of proper management is alarming. Initially, I wasn't sure who the manager was, and when I asked to speak to one, I was told she was unavailable, handling something in the office. I politely waited, but after about 20 minutes, she never came out, so I had to leave. I was given the manager's name, Charisse, but she appeared to be laughing and joking with others while I was waiting, making no effort to address my concerns and come out to speak with me. The worst and most unprofessional part was during my next (and last) visit, when I made a point to speak with the manager, Charisse. She demanded I speak with her outside, for reasons unknown (maybe to avoid being in front of other parents). She was incredibly rude and unprofessional, refusing to listen to the concerns my daughter had the courage to bring up. Instead, she mocked me and belittled my daughter's skillset, claiming that if she didn't like the coaching changes, she should look elsewhere because they didn't need our business. I was shocked by this situation. I strongly urge all parents to reconsider entrusting their children to this poorly managed establishment. As Charisse advised, please look elsewhere - this organization does not need YOUR business. (This happened a while ago but held off on posting a review in hopes of improvement.) I also know of a ton of families who have switched gyms for similar situations. Management needs to address the unprofessionalism of this manager and begin to have a more routine coaching schedule for the gymnasts to feel comfortable.

From start to finish, Megan made the experience exceptional and completely stress-free. She took the time to review our preferences and coordinate all the details well before the event, so when the day arrived, all we had to do was show up and celebrate. I was truly amazed by Megan's ability to juggle a million roles at once -- seamlessly acting as maître d', DJ, ringmaster, custodian, safety officer, and more -- all with effortless grace. I also loved that the children were safely contained in a lively play area where they could run, tumble, and explore freely without constant supervision. It allowed me to actually enjoy the party without chasing after my daughter every few seconds! Each activity -- from the parachute games and zipline to the bubble dance party, bean bag toss, and puppet show -- was perfectly tailored to my daughter's high energy and interests. Her and her friends' smiles lit up the entire room! One parent even told me it was the most fun kids' birthday party she'd ever attended. Thank you, Megan and My Gym San Carlos, for creating such a magical and unforgettable third birthday celebration for our family!

This is a review for the business practice not the dance class…read more My daughter wants to try ballet so I contacted the business via its website for a trial class and mrs Briones never once told us there is a trial fee. But after the trial when we decided to join another ballet school, I kept getting an email about $20 fee. All other Ballet schools in the area offer a free trial class and to me it is a standard for a good Business. If I would have known there was a fee, I wouldn't even try. On their website there is an offer for Free boy trial class so it is totally not transparent. The business clearly doesn't disclose its business policies to its customers. Please on the watch out for their shady practices. Update So I saw a reply message from the owner explaining why there was a trial fee (which again wasn't communicated at all from the beginning via email). But what made me even more upset was when she/he stated "we saved your spot for months"...OMG that was totally incorrect!!! Luckily all my communications with them was via email so I had smt to go back to.

All climbing gyms have something of a funk, but this place is the worst. I joined to take the yoga classes mostly, but that's a hard pass. Classes start on time, but the gym allows members to show up late. When they do, they move the curtain, light up the whole room, and the noise of 100 climbers floods the room. Right in the time when you're settling in and trying to focus. Then the weight room is above the yoga room, so you get to hear weights slamming down during class, which is also disruptive. I found the classes super uneven, some being great (Bronwyn) and others being a weird combo of loud music over soft voices so you can't hear the instructor, or instructors borderline shouting at folks to expel breath as loud as possible. Not what I'm looking for. So, no problem, it's not for me. It's close to home, price is reasonable, and they have good climbing facilities. Boulder area isn't the best, but the rest of it is quite good with interesting routes changed often...enough. When I went to cancel, I was hit with a "policy" that you have to cancel on or before the 25th of a month or they will charge you for another month. I reached out on the 26th, 5 days before the next charge cycle. Seemed like plenty. Complained, go zero response. So basically I consider they robbed me of $110, because of course the cancellation policy is not visible..until you go to cancel. Hope it was worth the money, Movement. Cannot recommend.

She's a very timid kid who's normally very clingy to me. Since her first session she felt comfortable and ready to participate and looks forward to going back each week. She's 3.5 for reference. I do have two cons: The first: parking. It's not really within their control and there are options. The small parking lot and garage are very narrow but not a deal breaker. We prefer to park on El Camino (which has its own challenges with how busy the road is). It's close to HWY 92 which is a plus for us. The second: there are huge windows to watch your child dance/participate yet parents grab chairs and pull it up to directly in front of the glass which makes it harder for everyone else to watch. And those same parents that put their chair against the glass (blocking everyone else's view) end up on their phone not even watching. I wish the school would put up a sign and remind parents to sit further away so everyone can watch.

It's a nice way to introduce different styles of dance to younger kiddos before committing to a specific style of dance. They do two recitals a year - one in December and one in June. I will say, this is definitely not a conventional dance class. It's more play, movement with props and toys. But my toddler LOVES it. I plan to keep her in Small Fry until she turns 5. I will then transition her to PCPA, which is the sister program to Small Fry for older kids.

We were in the Game Room (vs the Art Room) --highly recommend because they can hop from activity to activity. Some played Nintendo Switch on one of the two large TVs (multiple controllers) while others played ping pong or the basketball arcade game. There's also a pool table & foosball table, with plenty of seating and conveniently located next to the restrooms (and water fountain). Everything was in good working order and well maintained. Half of the time for the party is spent in this room, the other half (for pizza and sundae bar) were hosted in the dance studio room, which was a nice change of scenery and kept the kids entertained. Shout out to the staff who look after the kids and the facility. Love that they offer the pizza and ice cream as add ons because coordinating food while managing the party is always a challenge. I brought some salad to supplement and it was no big deal. They provide the plates, utensils, table cloths, and light decorations. There was a basketball game that day but you can catch a glimpse of the court from previous posts here on Yelp.
