I used to do personal training with Kardelen before she worked at Bay Club, and I miss her so much…read more I've tried to figure out how to make Bay Club workouts fit into my day because I loved training with her, and I love the facility, unfortunately it's just too far from where I live/work. If it was closer I would join in a heartbeat. Training with Kardelen was never just an hour on the clock. She genuinely cared about me--not just as a client, but as a person. She went above and beyond to create a program that was completely personalized to my body, my goals, and my life. I never once felt like "just another client." If you're a member at the amazing Bay Club, you would be incredibly lucky to have her as your trainer. With Kardelen, you're not a number--you're a person she's fully invested in. And as a bonus... your body will look amazing too

Updated review:…read more Unfortunately, Bay Club Redwood Shores management continues to devalue their memberships. Membership prices continue to increase, while perks are taken away. For example, starting May 1 2025, standard memberships get 2 guest passes per quarter and they now expire the same month they're issued! The locker rooms were partially updated in 2025 (locker units and flooring) but the bathrooms and showers are still original and dated. The weight room has nice new machines although maintenance can sometimes be a bit behind. Some of their cardio machines are in disrepair (stairmasters making noise, out of service) and there are areas of the weight room that aren't cleaned often.

I had my 11year-old's birthday party over there in SCYC. Super easy process, super nice people,…read morehappy kids. The only complaint that kids had: they wanted more time. lol, if possible maybe we will hold the place for longer next time. I spoke with Zoe over the phone to go over the details, payment etc. She's very nice and efficient over the phone. On the event day, everything was prepped, the staff was watching over kids without being intrusive (for their benefit, kids were playing nicely, not throwing nintendo controllers to eachother etc). I will be back for more birthday parties until my kids grow out of it.

Purpose of visit: birthday party…read more Under-appreciated gem tucked into the heart of San Carlos, near Burton Park. I hosted a birthday party for children there and the kiddos loved it. We were in the Game Room (vs the Art Room) --highly recommend because they can hop from activity to activity. Some played Nintendo Switch on one of the two large TVs (multiple controllers) while others played ping pong or the basketball arcade game. There's also a pool table & foosball table, with plenty of seating and conveniently located next to the restrooms (and water fountain). Everything was in good working order and well maintained. Half of the time for the party is spent in this room, the other half (for pizza and sundae bar) were hosted in the dance studio room, which was a nice change of scenery and kept the kids entertained. Shout out to the staff who look after the kids and the facility. Love that they offer the pizza and ice cream as add ons because coordinating food while managing the party is always a challenge. I brought some salad to supplement and it was no big deal. They provide the plates, utensils, table cloths, and light decorations. There was a basketball game that day but you can catch a glimpse of the court from previous posts here on Yelp.

Fullsterkur is an absolutely wonderful gym and I would recommend anyone, no matter your skill level…read moreto join. The members and staff are incredibly welcoming and treat each other with love and respect. If you need a spot, help learning an exercise or just have questions about fitness in general, there is usually someone there with the knowledge and willingness to help. You will never have to wait for equipment like at a commercial gym. The gym is open 24/7. The equipment is constantly being updated and there are always new toys to play with. It is clear that the owners care about the gym and constantly invest in it. I've been in the powerlifting community for over a decade and can say with absolute certainty that if you're looking for a gym to join, I would absolutely 100% recommend this one!

Lemme just start by saying that if you're looking for a gym in the bay, steer clear. I checked this…read morespot out based on the reviews and some recs, but I legit had to do a double take because what I heard and what I saw were completely different. Equipment: If stuff isn't broken or bent, it just isn't there. I've seen gyms with half the space have more kilos and power bars available. Not to mention they have an entire area dedicated to machines that look like they only get used when the cleaners dust them off. I heard the owners have been promising more stuff, but nothing's come except a small ah set of plates. Facilities: Bathroom was straight up vile with a busted toilet seat. Floors are legit slimy, and I saw maybe two people tops wipe off their equipment. I asked some of the other members if the gym ever brings in a maintenance crew to clean the place down, but they told me the cleaning is done by like a family and kids LMAO Management: Day-to-day is run by this dude named Jostin (Justin?), but outside of my first visit I barely saw the man. Bro is either not at the gym or locked up in the back office. Only time I remember seeing him was when his doordash arrived. The other owners are barely in too, and I heard the main dude isn't even in state anymore??? Cost: Game time. Based on what I've said, guess how much they ask for a month. Two-fn-hundred without a contract, 150 for a 6 month. Place thinks is premium-premium but is giving vibes that make 24 look like Equinox. The members must love burning cash because they could do so much better for much less

I've been going to Advanced Sports Performance in San Carlos for the past 3 months now, doing…read morepersonal training with Coach Rick, and honestly it's been awesome. Definitely deserves all 5 stars! Right from the start, Rick's attention to detail is next level. He explains everything so clearly: why we're doing a certain movement, how to fix my form on the spot, what the plan is building toward, and how it all fits my goals. It never feels like a cookie cutter workout. It's all tailored just for me, and he pushes me in the best way possible without ever making it unsafe. In only three months, I've seen huge progress. My lifts have gone way up. I'm adding serious weight to squats, deadlifts, presses, you name it. And my cardio has gotten so much better too. Stuff that used to wipe me out now feels way more doable, and I'm bouncing back quicker between sets and days. What really sets it apart is that Rick doesn't stop at the gym stuff. He puts together full plans that include nutrition advice and diet changes geared toward better performance, recovery, and how I want to look and feel. Those tweaks have made a massive difference in my energy and the results I'm seeing. The gym itself is clean, loaded with great equipment, super convenient location, and the whole team has this motivating energy without it being over the top. If you're looking to get serious about your fitness with smart, personalized coaching, this is the place. Huge thanks to Rick and the crew. You guys are helping me level up big time!

5/5 - Love This Gym!…read more Advanced Performance Gym is honestly the best. No matter your fitness level--beginner, advanced, or somewhere in between--they make you feel totally welcome. The coaches are super supportive and actually pay attention to what you need. I trained here through my pregnancy and came back postpartum, and they were incredible. They helped me modify workouts, made sure I felt safe, and never once made me feel out of place. And honestly? This gym makes me feel badass. There's something about the energy, the workouts, and the people that just makes you feel strong and capable every time you walk in.
