We heard about this place through my husbands co worker. Let me tell you!!! It did not disappoint! We started off with spring rolls. Small but very good! We both got hibachi rice. Hubby got steak and I got shrimp. Great portion and great prices! We ordered a side of hibachi noodles. GUYSSS these noodles were some of the best that we've ever tried! Not exaggerating! Anyways, I kept eyeing their macha green tea crepe. I got one and it was a great way to end our delicious dinner. (If you've never had matcha maybe hold off on that. It has a strong taste.) I was hoping for better food and been wanting to try for a while. The chicken hibachi was over cooked but some where ok to eat, shrimp was not deveined, the rice had lot of over cooked very hard some pieces throughout and salad was hard to eat and not cut small enough and could not cut in the small bowl. read more

Usually, I'd give Rainbow 5 stars, but I was not too pleased with my last experience. I ordered the chicken and steak lunch hibachi. I got an insane amount of rice, and I wish I had gotten some more vegetables instead. I think that there should be a more even ratio of rice and vegetables. The whole meal including the yum yum sauce was too spicy for my taste, something I wasn't expecting at all. It came with soup and salad which were both great. I also think the prices are very fair. We ordered two hibachi style lunch boxes which comes with friend rice, your choice of protein, veggies, and noodles. The portions were generous and the quality and taste of the food was on point. For lunch the box came to about $10-$12 depending on what protein choice you went with. The service was great. The girl who took care of us was so sweet and very attentive. There was another table eating during the time we were there and we noticed that they were giving the girl a difficult time. She kept up her positive demeanor throughout their stay. This place is an absolute gem. We were looking for options to dine in for lunch. The first 2-3 places we drove to were closed around 2 PM. Thankfully we stumbled upon Rainbow. They have a pretty well laid out menu with some very interesting options for drinks and desserts. We ordered spring rolls, veggie gyoza, a mango slushie, vegetable tempura and the cheesecake for dessert. Not one thing disappointed! Everything was just perfect!! Their homemade salad dressing is something you should try. To top it all, was the welcoming and attentive customer service. If you're in the area, definitely give this place a try. Food was good and the staff was nice. Our only negative thing was a $2.50 up charge for fried rice. Which is normal however the rice had no flavor to it, no veggies, or meat. It was just flavorless yellow rice. Which is not what we expect when ordering fried rice. We enjoyed their sushi, gyoza, and general tso chicken. read more

I am so glad this place opened. They have amazing drinks and food for a reasonable price. Their hibachi dinner portion are quite big as well. I totally love the green tea slush with red bean. This place was delicious. Waitress was wonderful. Shrimp and scallops hibachi lunch was fresh and filling. Left with leftovers for a yummy lunch for the next day. Small, quaint new little addition to Ventnor. Ate there tonight and the food was amazing. Nice size portions. ING was super friendly and nice. We had hibachi dinners- shrimp and filet. Flavors were good. Steak was tender. Portions are big. Rock shrimp was good but on the sweeter not spicy side. Oh and we got the crepe dessert with fruit and Nutella filling and mango pancakes. Service was pretty slow. I understand it was a Friday night and it was a little busy, but no one even brought our table any water until 15 minutes after we sat down. Once we ordered the appetizers and food did come pretty quickly...but the issue was when we got our order of the 'Sushi & Sashimi for Two'. Some of the sashimi was clearly still frozen and rubbery and the white tuna sashimi was yellow. I did not want to risk eating it, but my boyfriend took a bite out of it just to see if maybe it was the lighting of the restaurant that it looked that way, but NOPE it was not fresh. We told the server and she checked with the sushi chef and told us that the chef had told her the fish was brought in earlier today (probably a lie). After my boyfriend and I were almost done our meal, my other friend that was with us still did not get her food. She noticed other people that got seated after us getting their food before hers. She saw the waitress in the back pacing/looking panicked and looking over at our table. CLEARLY they forgot my friend's order. We will not be returning to this restaurant and I hope my boyfriend does not leave with a parting "gift" of food poisoning. read more

Wow. Who would think that anywhere within 20 miles there would be a very good place to enjoy Japanese Cuisine. I gotta be real here. The food was very good. The Rolls, probably could have been more generous in the size of the roll, and the Eel Skin Roll was not put together well, but the flavors were super, the fish was fresh and tender. The Miso Soup was very flavorful. I just wish the bowl of soup was more substantial. The Springrolls were fantastic. Fresh, fried, and wow. The problem I keep coming back to is the Spring rolls come 4 to the order, but the rolls are SOOOO Small. Enough for 1 person. The service was good. Best miso soup in south jersey; so much flavor, seaweed, tofu, and scallions! My daughter got the shrimp hibachi, she said it was the best hibachi shrimp she's had. I had the hibachi vegetables and noodles which were so fresh and flavorful. And of course for desert we got an Oreo crepe cake, yummy layers of crepe and a light and fluffy not too sweet cream topped with Oreo crumbles, amazing! This place was great! By far one of my favorite places that I've been to recently. This is a smaller Japanese restaurant with a worthy selection of deserts. Our main goal for this visit was to try the fun deserts they had to offer but we still had a savory dish in the side to combat sweetness. We ordered the vegetable lo mein which was so good. If you like hibachi style vegetable this will definitely be enjoyable. The hibachi veggies mixed with noddles was flavorful and made for one of my favorite lo mein experiences. We also received a complimentary side order of their spring rolls which they use a different kind of wrapper for. I really enjoyed them, they were shrimp and the wrapper they used was crunchy and flakey. The first desert we had was the matcha Mille crepe. Presentation wise it was a little lack luster due to the shade of green from all the matcha powder but this was on of my favorite deserts. It had a good flavor and like the rest of the deserts we tried was not overly sweet. Next up was the mixed fruit jasmine tea. I tend to find jasmine tea a bit too floral for my taste but the addition of the fruit really cut that down and made it super refreshing. We also tried the avocado cheese foam tea which was really just an avocado smoothie with cheese foam on top. The name of this drink was a little bit confusing and I was surprised but happy with what came out. Then there was the Special Mango Juice Sago and Pomelo with mango ice cream. I wasn't sure what to expect with this desert but I enjoyed the lightness of it and the fresh mango was amazing. The last order that we got was the mango crepe. Originally we were interested in the mango pancake but they didn't have it at that time and then we wanted to get the waffle with mango and vanilla ice cream, however, they were unable to do the waffle at that time so we got the mango crepe. The crepe came with fresh mango, a chocolate spread and a ton of whipped cream. I personally could of done without the chocolate and with a touch less whipped cream but it was still a lovely desert. I would 100% come back here again for more lo mein, spring rolls and to try the rock shrimp. And I would still love to try the mango pancake or the waffle next time. read more
