It's been awhile and I saw the same smiling faces as I walked in. Some things never change. And, the fact that the dining area hasn't changed brought my rating down because frankly the dining area is old and more like a supply storage closet. Perhaps it had the same ambiance when I did my prior review but today I noticed that it's not a pleasant eating experience if cardboard boxes filled with sushi trays and food containers are your dining neighbors. The lunch special comes with a "salad" and ginger dressing. The green leaves were limited yet cold and crisp but the dressing when added to the "salad" left a watery pool once the few lettuce leaves were consumed. My two rolls were a bit "chewy" and far from the best I have enjoyed. The soy sauce presented in another plastic cup (Sushi Town offers everything but the chopsticks in plastic.) was grainy and dreadful. Why not have a name brand bottle of soy out on each of your two tables? As I left I picked up my plastic water bottle ....smiled at the very nice people who run the place ... forgetting to say goodbye to my cardboard lunchtime neighbors. read more

I started ordering from sushi town during the Covid lockdown, seeing as they were one of the three places that offered contactless take out, payment and pickup. They have cultural decor inside, but from my experience, they are primarily a take out restaurant now. The cashiers are always nice and their prices are hard to beat. Serving sizes are great, the sushi is both fresh and delicious. Their menu is insanely large, and they offer more than sushi/sashimi. They have dinner plates, bento boxes, steak plates, etc. I love sushi town, they have never messed up an order, and I am happy to tip extra for their above and beyond service. So far, Sushi Town is my favorite spot in our temporary town of Egg Harbor Township! Not only is the food delicious but the wait for pickup was FAST, like ready in 15 minutes fast. J and I shared 4 rolls, as we typically do. We got the spicy salmon, Philadelphia, A.K 47, and the JLo roll. I honestly have no complaints! All rolls were tightly packed yet filled with all the fresh goodness. J's dad also participated in the fun and got a California roll and a shrimp avocado roll- both with brown rice. He said they were both ok....to be honest, his sushi opinions aren't trust worthy as he's not a sushi snob like us, LOL! I'm certainly looking forward to returning for a second round! read more

Gave 3 stars and giving the benefit of the doubt it was just an off night, otherwise I'd say 2 stars. We go to Sagami's in collingswood for excellent authentic sushi but Sushitown isn't bad for a local place. Pickup guy was not friendly, which can be forgiven if your spot on with the food, but not tonight. Ginger was well past fresh date as it was bright red and had a strange taste. Have never had bad ginger, now I have. All 4 of us thought the Philly roll was off a bit, we couldn't place it, stale rice, cream cheese that picked up other refrigerator flavors or smoked salmon was off, couldn't place it. Spider roll was soggy. Overall disappointing. Inconsistent so will give one more chance. read more

They are very friendly and kind and really work hard to make their customers happy. I've been going for years right after gym sessions down the street and I've always loved it. Recently got a party tray for a friend's birthday. We got several of the special rolls and the prices were not unreasonable. I personally prefer the nigiri over the maki (roll) styles, but with such a selection and variety I was happy to partake. I came here many times with my co-workers for both sit-down and take-out lunch. They have matcha tea, which is a plus. Their sushi lunches are great deals, but they just put way too much rice on their sushi. I end up getting half a bowl of rice after peeling some rice off the rolls. They have a hibachi lunch special as well, which isn't too bad. The only thing I have issues with is the plastic bowls they serve even when sitting down the eat. All in all, decent place for quick sushi to take out. But if you sit down, don't expect great service. There are only 2 tables with a little wrap around sushi bar with a few chairs. I've been craving sushi for roughly four months and I was very glad to see a few spots opened nearby since the Covid-19 outbreak shut many of the local restaurants down. Looks are deceiving, in which this is a perfect example, as the business is located in a strip mall & it's easy to overlook a place, especially when it comes to location. I was a bit optimistic at first, but ended up ordering almost a dozen sushi rolls since my family and I were hungry. For a last minute order, I was very pleased to see such a wonderful presentation & the quality itself was not bad at all. I also have to add that the pricing CAN NOT be beat, which the majority of rolls here cost roughly between $5.00-$9.00 which if you're a sushi connoisseur, you know how quickly the expenses can rack up. All of this food was under $100.00 & that's incredible. All in all, I would highly recommend this establishment to those looking to grab a quick bite at a very modest price. read more

Small mostly takeout sushi in a strip mall. We decided to give it a try and eat at 1 if 2 tables. There's no atmosphere here but from the reviews I read, no one seems to care. The kani salad was very good and the avocado salad was fine, but a bit small for mostly lettuce. A nice touch is matcha tea which I love. The assorted rolls were fine, the fish tasted fresh but there was entirely too much rice and not enough fish. Maybe a winter thing and it gets better in the summer when businesses picks up. I wouldn't make a special trip there but if I'm passing by, I'd pick up dinner to go. See what you think. read more

Not sure if I just had a bad batch of sushi considering the amount of great reviews I see, but we ordered a large party tray of sushi and it tasted very fishy. I was unable to stomach a lot of it, including the cooked eel rolls without tasting the fishy aftertaste. Definitely a small place, but the sushi and fish is very fresh. The price is very reasonable and the portions are fair. It's great definitely a great option if you just want a nice quick meal without spending the big bucks, but yet much much better than fast food or pizza!! Customer service must depend on the waitress and on the day because mine was annoyed and frustrated with us in asking simple questions and making things very unreasonable like why can I have my salad before my food "because it HAS to go together" when I asked I can't just have it before? Came here because I saw the great reviews and I have to say I was not impressed. It's very mediocre. The place is very small, just two tables for 4 people and just a few seats at the sushi table. The tables were sticky and everything is dated. To access the restroom you have to go through the kitchen and it just wasn't appetizing when you walk through it. I was hoping the food would win me over but it was just okay. My kids had the chicken fried rice and it just felt a bit sticky for me. Myself and my friend had the sushi lunch special, which comes with salad and miso soup. The salad is just romaine lettuce with a few carrots and dressing, tasted bland. Soup also seemed watered down. Sushi was good. My advice, just get the sushi and definitely get it to go! read more
