A last minute change of venue caused my husband to reserve a 22 pound turkey on a Saturday before Thanksgiving. Clearly not enough time to defrost poultry unless I used the cold water method. Who has time for that? I ventured out of the city and went to Rainbow Farm the Monday before Thanksgiving. The drive consisted of a peaceful country setting with colorful fall foliage in the background. I was greeted by a staff of 6 helpful people. A woman had performed the transaction as well as giving me helpful tips. The turkey was presented on a scale, then sealed in a bag which was surrounded by another heavy duty plastic grocery bag, and one of the men carried the fresh turkey to my car. I was genuinely thanked for my business and wished a Happy Thanksgiving. I was so grateful I tried to tip. They were all honest and told me everything was included in the pricing and I was given my change. It is now 10 pm on Thanksgiving day. My guests just left in awe of their amazing turkey dinner. The turkey cooked faster than usual. The meat was tender without brine. I did not try a new recipe. I only cooked a fresh and never frozen bird. This was a stress free way to get farm fresh turkey. This experience was the opposite of a hectic grocery store on super bowl Sunday. What more could you ask for? read more

DO NOT USE!!! I ordered a 25 lb turkey well over a month before Thanksgiving. I received a phone call the next day to confirm the order and to tell me I could pick it up Mon, Tues or Wed the week of. I got a voice mail on that Monday saying they had a machinery problem and were not getting around to killing the big birds until that day and asking if I could come Wednesday, no big deal. Show up on Wednesday and the largest they can offer me is a 15 lb bird. Are you Fn kidding me?!? My mother was furious since it was my idea to try a fresh turkey this year and this place actually had been recommended to me. Well let me tell you that person who recommended me is not recommending this place anymore and I have been letting everyone know about my experience that I can. They almost ruined thanksgiving! They knew they didn't have any big birds and lied to me, they also had my phone number and probably knew that this was a problem weeks before and could have informed me so I can make the best decision for my family. Sad Day! I called to order our turkey here for Thanksgiving for the hundredth time! The phone was disconnected. I rechecked the number and called again, disconnected. I called the local town hall and found out that the owner Tom Mello had passed away only a few weeks prior. Our thoughts are with his wife Judy, and family. Hopefully you guys will be able to carry on the tradition and farm, if not we will treasure the wonderful turkeys we have enjoyed over the years. read more

I was a customer for the last 7 years and always had some issues with receiving the size bird I had ordered but we'll never buy from them again after this year. We placed our order well in advance, came to pick it up the day before Thanksgiving and were told they had voicemail issues and didn't have a bird for us. That was it, they knew it was their fault, didn't make any effort to have a reserve set aside for their problem or try to call people back. Order from them at your own risk. read more
