The waitstaff and woman manager were very welcoming and attentive. I actually saw an " add on " to a salad of cranberry chicken salad- and asked if they could just make a basic chicken salad sandwich open faced on toast- with sliced apples on top. OMG- it was huge and delish! And they were accommodating even though it was not a regular menu item! Now that's service! The coffee was really good too, and everything was reasonably priced! I'm sorry I didn't have room for dessert! I highly recommend this wonderful little gem! Great food, great prices, and great service with a smile- what more can you ask for?? I'll be back! Thank you! Staying at my brother's summer home for a few days in the winter off-season near Horseneck Beach in…read moreWestport, Mass., I headed out to Tiverton, R.I. in search of dinner. It was a very pretty 20-minute drive to the Four Corners Grille, with great GPS service throughout the short trip. Good thing, too, because it's a winding way, with miles of sturdy dry-stone walls along the way. I chose Four Corners Grille in large part because I'm a major fan of fried clams. Living in Ohio and Washington, DC, I've searched without success for authentic fried clams; Four Corners is the first place that ever met (and indeed exceeded) my expectations. I started with New England Clam Chowder (cup, $7), but since I really wanted to try the lobster bisque, I ordered a cup for takeout dinner the next day (cup, $8). The main attraction, whole belly fried clams (market price), were amazing! The serving was more than ample in number (I had enough leftovers the next day for a meal to go with my takeout bisque). The clams were perfectly breaded and seasoned, and came out sizzling, along with hot rustic French fries and Cole slaw. I don't believe I've ever had such a tasty serving of fried clams in my life. Service was attentive, and the dessert menu was too tempting to pass up (I had the turtle cheesecake, split between both nights). Well worth a trip!

Aldi is the kind of grocery store that rewards the prepared shopper and I say that with admiration…read more You bring your own bags, you bring your quarter for the cart, and in return, Aldi brings you something rare in retail: consistency, clarity, and value without the fluff. Let's start with the layout. Whether I'm in Missouri or Maine, stepping into an Aldi feels like slipping into a familiar rhythm. The aisles are predictably arranged, the signage is direct, and the essentials--milk, eggs, produce, pantry staples--are right where I expect them. That uniformity isn't just convenient; it's comforting. I know where my stuff is, and I don't waste time wandering. Now, about the prices. Aldi is inexpensive, not cheap. That distinction matters. Cheap implies corner-cutting, i.e., flimsy packaging, questionable quality, or a race to the bottom. Inexpensive means smart sourcing, streamlined operations, and a no-frills approach that passes the savings on to you. Aldi's store-brand products often rival national brands in taste and quality, and the savings are real. You won't find loyalty programs or coupon gimmicks here. Just straightforward pricing that respects your budget. The quarter-for-a-cart system? Brilliant. It keeps the parking lot tidy and the overhead low. And the bag-your-own-groceries model? It's a small trade-off for the kind of prices that make you feel like you've outsmarted the system. I'm a huge fan. Aldi doesn't try to be everything. It just tries to be good at what it does. In a world of bloated supermarkets and performative retail, that kind of focus feels refreshingly honest. [Review 1081 of 2025 - 86 in Rhode Island - 24635 overall]

Had to use the ladies room that was actually clean but had no toilet paper. There was trash and empty boxes scattered thru out. The self checkout looked like it never got cleaned.
