Haven't been to a tree farm before but I thought this place was solid. You have the option of picking one of their precut trees are going out into the field and choosing one yourself. Great part about choosing your own tree is that you have the opportunity to cut it down. FYI there is a $66 minimum when it comes to cutting your own tree. It's about $11 per foot. Staff are friendly and helpful. After we cut our tree they put it on their wagon, took it to the front to prepare it for us, and tied it to the top of our car. Parking is pretty limited so try to go earlier in the day if you can. Also, they seem to have different types of trees on the farm but they didn't have labels telling you which was which. I'd suggest asking a staff member before choosing anything.

A very nice couple bought this farm a few seasons ago. They have expanded and have a day, today, where Santa and Mrs. Claus are there for pictures and hand out a little something for the kids. Trees are $10/foot and they will cut it down for you, shake it, bail it and bring it to your vehicle. You can cut a tree down yourself too if you like and they have great, sharp little hand saws that do the job. They also have cookies, hot chocolate and hot cider inside where you pay for your tree. Busy there today. So much so that they ran out of cups. The only con for the experience today. Great photo opportunities here too!

My two toddlers went to the Pre-K Experience and had a great time with the crafts and the animals. However, for bathrooms the kids (ages 3-4) used porta-potties unassisted, which is incredibly dangerous (they could fall in, they had to climb up to use it, they couldn't reach the hand sanitizer, nobody helped them wipe). The director assured me that once they came out, an adult would put hand sanitizer on them. The Board of Health said this was not up to code but since they weren't officially a "camp," they didn't violate any laws. However, this also means that the people that work there may not have CORI checks, immunizations are not asked for from other kids, etc. This may not be a big deal to some people (and the farm is very cute), but they were dealbreakers for me.

Dalby Farm focuses on endangered domestic breeds, so they have some interesting goats, sheep, pigs, chickens, ducks, and geese. No cows though, my little guy was disappointed, but he loved the chicks and the goats. There are some exotic animals--chinchilla rabbits, golden pheasants, and peacocks. Open every Sunday from 11-3 from May-October, there is a small store that sells fresh eggs from the chickens, local honey, goat milk soap, as well as jewelry, t-shirts, gift baskets, and home decor. Group tours can be arranged, as well as birthday parties; the farm is open for smaller tours during events through the spring, summer, and fall.
