Shave ice was very tasty but also very pricey. They make their syrups using fresh fruit making the shave ice taste even more refreshing! Plenty of covered seating offered right near the truck. Staff was very kind and I didn't have to wait long for my order. The truck had great decorations and the menu was drawn on the windows.
I came here at about 8pm and had to eat my shave ice in the dark, on a sticky table. Apart from that, I enjoyed the natural syrups, although they didn't taste as strong or sweet as their artificial counterparts (to be expected). I prefer JoJo's, but maybe I'm just basic, haha. Staff were friendly and accommodating.
The best shave ice I've had , without question, in all of Hawaii. We went twice and would have gone more if we discovered earlier. The lilikoi was delicious. Coconut foam - yummy !! Price is steep, but it's worth it. The service was wonderful. The ambiance was fantastic with covered area to enjoy the delicious treat! Also next to Shaka burger and sushi.

The way they add some vanilla ice cream and the way they shave the ice...blends everything together real nice!!!! Ty who helped us was a great vibe & flowed us in the right direction! Another recommendation from a friend, and this one did not disappoint! Laura talked us through the process as this was our first shave ice experience. Dare I say we were spoiled by the best on our first go?? Laura makes all her syrups herself from real fruit. We went with a towering mango, coconut, lilikoi, and lychee with coconut foam, and it was truly delicious to the very last drop. Bonus that we got to meet her very sweet senior doggo who was making the rounds on the patio. Love the truck and the woman behind the magic! Such a great find! Mahalo!!
Order lolikoi lover with li hing mui with coconut foam on top. It's amazing. @owner, you need to patent and sell that coconut foam in supermarket for all the non dairy people. Ambiance is very nice too

This is the tastiest, most delightful shaved ice my family has ever had. My son demanded that I leave a 5 star review ASAP. Full of flavor with no shortcuts taken. Stop by, if it's nearby, stop by. And even if it's a drive and a little out of your way, stop by! You won't regret it. We ordered the Passion Dragon: mango syrup, tropical flavors, coconut foam that tastes like it was flown in from heaven, and a scoop of vanilla ice cream at the bottom. Absolute perfection. Here's what makes it different: most shave ice spots leave you sipping melted cough syrup at the end (looking at you, the "famous" one that rhymes with Hashimoto ). Not here. Laura makes all her syrups fresh, so the finish is smooth, refreshing, and delicious all the way through. Pro tip: don't skip the coconut foam, and mix in the ice cream early -- it takes the whole thing to another level.

Everything is 100% all-natural, made from real fruit with no additives or artificial syrups, which means no post-sugar craziness for my kids (huge win for parents). The texture of the ice is insanely soft, like fresh snow, and the flavors are so vibrant and real it's like biting into the fruit itself. My kids were obsessed -- and I didn't feel guilty letting them go all in. But let me just say -- do not leave without trying the coconut foam on top. OH. MY. GOSH. Of course I found this little shave ice food truck via Yelp! It's in a little field across from the Costco gas station. It's also next to a sushi place that we didn't have a chance to try ... but maybe next time! Anyways, the cashier and person who made our shave ice was super friendly and was really great at preparing our shave ice. They really took their time and seemed like they were genuinely enjoying what they were doing, which I always love to see. I chose pineapple, guava, and liliko'i plus a snow cap - wow, it was so delicious!!! I wish I would have come across this place earlier in the week so we could have came here more than once. Definitely seek this place out and you will not be dissapointed!! read more

By far the best shaved ice we have ever had! We tried all the "popular" spots. None of them compare to Shave Ice Kauai (including the other places that use real fruit syrups). Tai is a true artisan...somehow he makes ice that doesn't give you brain freeze or feel cold. It's remarkable. This spot is a true hidden gem and should be on everyone's radar. read more
We are driving back from Poipu Beach and decided we wanted some shave ice. We found this shave ice truck in a little food truck court and we stopped in to give it a try. The best part about the Shaved ice was that all the syrup are made with real fruit no fake preservatives. Every kind of order for every kind of taste you might have from coconut to strawberry to raspberry to even ginger and Matcha if you like it. Definitely should give us a try if you're over in this area. We give it five stars. read more

I got to try Rainbow Shave Ice Kauai and it did not disappoint! The brightly colored truck is nicely tucked in the corner of the Ohana Hale Marketplace Kahuku, right by Ride & Grind Cafe and Tina's. When you look at the overall food trucks that are occupying the spaces, it fits perfectly well and adds variety with the already existing options. I ordered the Kahuku Sunset and it was good and refreshing! It's sweet but not over-whelming. The flavor is rich and natural because their syrups are homemade and organic--so don't expect this to be your typical shaved ice experience. I got to meet Laura and Maverick, the owners and they are friendly and welcoming couple. To any that are in the area, look no where else, come here and get your shaved ice! read more

I don't know even where to start!! Laura makes all of her syrups from fresh fruits, the coconut topping was one of a kind and the ice cream at the bottom, sealed the deal!! Absolutely the best on the island! She is hidden in the front corner. The area had beautifulfoliage and the setting was very rustic! Her service was amazing considering, she is a one women show, This is a must stop, truly a hidden gem!! read more

AMAZING. Everything about it. The woman working (who owns the truck) told us all about hand making the syrups every morning which was necessary because the quality doesn't keep up to her standards after a day or two - great to know she really cares about the quality of what she's serving! AND the flavors were all to die for. AND and she hooked us up with an extra dollop of some (also homemade) coconut whipped cream and HOLY MOLY. I wish we'd gone earlier in our trip so we could've gone back! The serving is also HUGE and a great deal for the price. There are only two picnic tables immediately near by, but they're covered so you can easily grab a cup and sit in the shade to enjoy! read more

Ya... we went back.. like a couple times. (Which was special because we were not staying nearby). The shaved ice is absolutely the best we tried while in Hawaii. And Laura is so sweet! She gets it perfect! We loved coming here, not just for the best shaved ice, but for the kind customer service and generosity. Mahalo Laura! We went to the food trucks in Kauai today. After a delicious dinner, we needed a dessert. So we went to Rainbow Shave ice cream. What can I say: we have eaten a lot of Shave Ice during our vacation - this one was the best. The owner is super nice, very helpful and very welcoming. She only uses syrups from her own production and no additives. Absolutely recommendable. read more
