The owner was also a pleasure to work with via phone and messaging. I will be using this company again in the future for sure.

I'm a 20 year military spouse with over 6 moves under my belt and I felt it was extremely important…read morethat other families planning their long distance PPM (previously called DITY) moves (or corporate, personal moves - whether military or not) to be aware that College Hunks employees are not trained at all to pack boxes appropriately or load up a moving truck to limit damage as it travels. In addition, the job came in almost 3x the quoted price AND we received zero customer support or communication from the franchise ownership when we experienced problems (read below for details). The negative vibes started when their team arrived the morning of our move with only 2 people and no packing paper, no boxes, no markers for labeling, etc. Although the pack out had been confirmed with College Hunks' scheduler and main POC (his name was Alexander - he oozes confidence but he is not accurate, effective or helpful in a negative situation) two days prior the team didn't get the memo and thought they were just there to load a truck (it was supposed to be a pack out and load job). We had completed a detailed on-site meeting/walk thru with their scheduler, Alexander, and discussed picture boxes, wardrobe boxes, etc. so it wasn't that the company had never laid eyes on the job. The lead packer, Ethan, did get on the phone when I told him the actual scope and he quickly got supplies and 2 more people to our site, which was great, but it went downhill from there. If that had been the only issue I would not be leaving this long winded negative review. When we got to our destination we unpacked box after box after box with ZERO packing paper. Most items had not been wrapped or protected at all. All they did was take drawers and shelves of items and throw them into a cardboard box and seal it up. I had many damaged and broken glass, wood and ceramic items on the other end. I will acknowledge there was 1 packer, named Ethan, that did use packing paper and attempted to label boxes (after he borrowed a marker from us and after we asked them to label). He was the packer in our line of sight most of the day so we had no idea the others were not packing correctly or labeling anything. Ethan was great and had a good attitude all day - if all of their employees behaved like Ethan it would have been a very different move. Movers should know this but when you pack a truck for a long distance move and the boxes have no packing paper or internal support (and they're only 1/2 - 3/4 full) they all start to collapse and crush down from weight above as the truck drives and bounces. This is why we had so much damage. None of our boxes were labeled and the final straw was their cheap packing tape wasn't sticking to the boxes so as the movers at the destination site picked up boxes they were falling apart and collapsing on them. Items were falling out onto the ground as they tried to move stuff inside. I reached out to Alexander several times during the pack out, and also while we were unloading, with photos and expressed our disappointment and concerns and he assured me that the franchise owner would reach out within 24-48 hours to discuss what happened. Well, it's been over 2 weeks and crickets - not a single text, call or email. So it's clear their upper management really doesn't care about customer service. They got their 3x money and with job over we don't matter to them anymore. Take this review as a beware - they look great at face value but their team is not trained, equipped or supported by upper management.

Also, despite donating thousands of dollars of belongings, I never received the requisite paperwork to allow me a tax deduction. I don't recommend this company, nor would I ever use them again.

At the end of the walk through, Jared reviewed what it would take to move all of my belongings and reassured me that all items to be moved would easily fit into their standard moving van. He also said he, Jared, would arrive on the day of the move with a crew of very capable and experienced guys. However, in the day of the move Jared never showed and left me with crew with very little experience. From the very start leader expressed to me that he had doubts that everything would fit in the truck and subsequently the storage unit I had, the size of which I chose based on Jared's reassurances. From the very beginning, the crew repeatedly packed and repacked the truck to make it all fit and by the time it was fully loaded and ready to go to the storage unit they had been working for 5+ hours which was already more than the 4.5 hours I was told would be the time for the entire move, loading and unloading. When we reached the storage unit, the process was repeated. The crew began unloading but each person had a different opinion of how to get everything in the storage units. By the time everything was out of the truck and stored away, it was past 9 pm. Eleven plus hours from start to finish. At that point, the lead crew member spoke with Jared, he blamed everything on me as if my input caused them to turn into absolute morons who couldn't move their way out of a paper bag. I was present for the entire move but the only suggestions or requests I made were only made when the crew leader came to me and asked what he should do. I did ask, since I had rented 2 storage units that they try to put the furniture in the indoor unit. But when I saw the confusion that ensued, I simply told them to pack as they saw fit and that I did not want to get in their way.I I would not recommend Robinson Relocations to anybody. During the move floors were unprotected and gouged and scratched and walls were also scratched and gouged. A 3 piece wall unit was ripped apart without the connecting bolts removed. In addition, 2 of the 6 glass doors were broken. A dryer and freezer were both damaged and the freezer stopped working. Parts were left anywhere. For example, 2 futons were taken apart. At the new house futon parts were found in the garage, some in the kitchen and others in the basement. Shelves to a bookcase were not found. Trash was left behind in our yard after they left. This is not a comprehensive list, just the major highlights. I filed a claim, and almost 4 months later here are the results. The damages to floors and walls cost over $1600 to fix. They offer $0 to repair. The bookcase cost $1100 30 years ago, and $7000 to replicate. They offer $850. The freezer reimbursement offer was $60. I elected $10,000 insurance, but you see the results of my claim submission. He assured me the move would happen in 1 day with two trucks and 4 men. I requested an early start of 8 am as I knew it would be a long day. The movers arrived at 10 am. They called me on the way to our home and told me that the move would take 2 days. I eventually got a message to Antonio and he showed up at our move. He once again said he thought the move could be completed in 1 day as promised. Well it took until 7pm to load up the trucks. They ended up putting us up in a hotel that evening. They returned the next day to unload our load once again about 10 am. They took all day-Day2 to unload our stuff, leaving after 6 pm on DAY 2. The men moving the stuff did get our possessions to our new home in one piece. However the cost of the move ended up being $1000 more than the estimate I had been given. Had I known that the estimate for the move was bogus, I would have gotten someone else to move us. So buyer beware, don't believe their estimate.
