The sesame chicken, general chicken, teriyaki chicken on a stick, and sweet & sour chicken were all fresh, hot, and full of flavor. The lo mein was cooked perfectly and not dry at all. Rainbow Garden is a good option for Chinese food in Rolesville. It is in the same shopping center as a Food Lion; Dollar General and a Hardees. The menu is large and the prices are reasonable. My order was prepared quickly and service was friendly. They offer take out and and dine in options. Although some of the seating was stacked up on one table so that meant less available tables. I went with the beef and broccoli. I forgot to take a photo of it before transferring a third to half in my own dish. I had plenty left for another meal or two. Absolutely ridiculous, we door dashed this and Me and my wife were watching TV Eating, and all I hear is my wife say.... Ummmm babe. I was immediately concerned as she was pulling out a piece of heavy gauge metal from her chewed egg roll. Its a pretty decent size too. She got lucky this did not break her tooth, swallowed this and cut her throat all the way down, do damage to her stomach or intestines. It's been more than a year since my last review and we have come to love Rainbow Garden. It was a rocky start, but it is the neighborhood place and maybe we went on an off day. Recent favorites include: chicken chow mein, crab rangoon, and all the lo meins and sweet and sour shrimp or chicken. Granted, the sweet + sour are fried, but if that is what you are craving, they hit the spot. New Englanders; the sweet and sour chicken here is like the closet thing you'll find to Boston-style chicken fingers in the south. The chicken chow mein is a standout dish at our house, the flavor is always on point. We still don't love the egg foo young; the patties are perfect, but the sauce is light, thin and lacking flavor. The lunch specials - served until 3pm can't be beat. And we've heard- but have not confirmed- that the dishes cooked at lunch time tend to be spicier. Rainbow garden has become a go-to for those evenings when I come home from work late and too tired to cook. I love the broccoli with brown sauce, bean curd and broccoli (they will let you add a different sauce if you ask) and vegetable fried rice. They both enjoyed it and said "It was worth the trip." I on the other hand didn't feel that way. I had the sweet and sour chicken combo. The chicken pieces were small and some overlooked enough that you couldn't eat them. We all felt the fried rice was bland on its own; It needs a sauce to give it flavor. We have purchased the Sesame chicken combo many times from here and never had a problem! In fact we love the taste! Well today we were tasting it again so we decided to get some otw home this evening! We got home and started eating the chicken only to find out that the middle was raw on several pieces! I called them and told them and they told me to bring them done and they would replace them!! So we did but when I arrived they wanted to see the chicken and claimed it was not raw!! They wouldn't replace it and was literally calling me a liar and was arguing with me!! So they returned my $ and I am now sitting at Pand King waiting on sesame chicken and WILL NOT go back to the Rainbow Garden! They NEVER even planned on replacing our food!!
