I had 3 pieces of art I wanted to frame, Michaels was going to charge me a ridiculous $800 for so I took it to Rainbow Frame instead and Mason worked with me on finding cheaper alternatives and cut the cost a lot. Not only that but he did a fabulous job with my art, he had it done in less than two weeks! He built a wire and got me wall hangers to hang each piece as well (I didn't ask for), he also helped me load it into my car. This place is awesome because the owner, Mr. Lim is so nice. First time I went in there I think I spent 30-40 minutes just talking to him. When I came back to pick up my custom shadowbox, we talked some more. He asked/gave me what I thought to be a really big compliment. He wanted to know why I left the active Army and went to the Reserves. He told me that he was asking because he could tell I was military. He said that he dealt with a lot of people who came in and out of his shop and could perceive my military bearing. I gave him the answer. Really nice man and does great work. I've been coming to Rainbow Frame and Art for well over ten years and I've always been blown away by the exceptional quality of the work. Mason is truly a craftsman and expert in his field, and his eye for detail is second to none, which is beyond valuable given the permanence of a framing project. As an example, my wife and I recently brought in a large, high end print from our favorite photographer. We selected our frame style and went on our way. Mason called me a few days later saying that for such a special project, he had a few ideas to really make it look the best it could. This review is long overdue! I brought in a medical diploma at Christmas that is a family heirloom to be re-framed. It appeared that over the many years moisture had got in between the glass and the document causing a very wrinkled appearance. The shop owner, I dont recall his name, was super nice and helpful. He took time to review what I was asking, mounting and framing a flag and some metal pieces with it. After he told me the cost, it was a bit more than what I had in my head for this. He then helped me by explaining a DIY way to do it and even cut me a piece of mat board! Very nice, highly recommend and next time I need professional framing, I will be coming back. read more

While moving, my mom broke some frames and asked me to bring a frame to this place to get it fixed. The glass was shattered, the back was ripped, and there were a few scuffs on the frame. However, my mom didn't want to replace it with a new frame and said that she had called the owner and he seemed very friendly and would be able to fix it. The owner was super friendly when I came in and showed him the frame. I asked him to just replace the glass and backing but when I came to pick it up, the frame looked like new. He had also touched up the frame so you couldn't see the scuffs anymore. Also when I picked it up, I brought another frame that my mother had broken. He said that he would fix it in a few hours and gave me a discount on the second frame. This frame had a little plaque on the glass and a sticker with a story on the backing but since the glass was broken and the back was kinda ripped, we just expected the glass and back to be replaced. But with the second frame, he also touched up the frame and managed to save the plaque and sticker and stick it onto the new glass and backing. :) read more

Honestly... I can't speak for the quality of their work. I wasn't given the opportunity to find out. Things that put me off of this business: 1) I wandered around the tiny shop for ten minutes and was completely ignored by the man working there. (no idea his name. older asian guy.) Is it so hard to offer up a "Hi, I'll be with you in a moment"? 2) I was unimpressed with their selection of frame materials and the way they were stored. A semi-average amount on the wall in the back corner and others just randomly stacked around the cluttered environment. 3) I noticed a bunch of finished pieces awaiting pickup by their owners just scattered around the little showroom floor, leaning against shelves, standing on top of stacks of other things, etc. Not the best way to protect a customer's property. I got a "not too sure about this place" feeling when I walked in and looked around, but then being ignored by the staff cemented the deal. I took my three large pieces of artwork elsewhere. I had time to look at every single thing in the shop twice before deciding to give my hundreds of dollars of work to someone that actually wants it. read more

Very patient and professional. I must have changed my mind half a dozen times before taking masons advice which turns out to be better then I had in mind before I walked into the store. There's a wide verity to chose from. Just let him know the configuration of how you want to hang the pictures and where it will be hung and he will assist you. I came in wanting just solid black frames but after talking to mason about how I wanted the pictures in my living room pretty close to each other and the color of my furniture we decided to go with a more natural wood look but different shades to best match each of my artwork. And if you already do know what you want he'll do that for you too. He's not pushy. He's been doing this for a long time. Big selection of frames and one I got was only in for a few weeks, so his stock isn't out of date. Prices: For what you get, excellent. I know custom framing isn't cheap! I originally came to Mason based on yelp reviews and closeness to my house. And when I mentioned to a friend I was going to take things in for framing she told me all about her awesome experience! She did some traveling out of the USA and brought home some wonderful art pieces. She had told me that Mason spent a few hours going over all of her art and created a beautiful display for all the pieces she brought in. My first experience with Mason I brought in a shadow box frame and some Legos I was putting all together as a present and Mason took the time to cut some matting and bring the whole thing together and it was ready super quick!
