I use to come here all the time then left for a while and came in for boxes of donuts. I think it's now under new management because the service was not the same. I was so happy to return and was disappointed. Also the $.75 to pay with a credit card was a major turn off. I don't like doing business with companies that charge you to use a credit card. Not a fan of this donut shop. The interior looks extremely run down and NOT clean. The donuts were quite dry and for some reason tasted stale. I went in around 5:45 PM After calling ahead for lemon donuts. When inside, the lady behind the cashier kept trying to get me to buy extra donuts after I clearly expressed not wanting anymore. She put them into bags and tried to get me to pay for it, I refused and she eventually put them back. Not a fan. BEWARE: Shady Shady Shady! I have been visiting this doughnut shop the last few months and have always been helped by the same lady in the afternoon. She gives you doughnut holes while you're waiting and slips 2-3 doughnut holes in your bag after you've made your purchase -- But she doesn't tell you that she's charging you for them!! This was confirmed today as I went with another suspecting friend. I ordered 1 doughnut, but she charged me $1. In the bag, she had placed 2 doughnut holes without telling me. My friend ordered 1 doughnut, but made sure to say, "no doughnut holes please", he was charged $0.85. I recalled a number of past occasions that I had been given doughnut holes without asking and didn't find out until I later opened the bag. They don't give you a receipt. My bad for not asking for one or doing the math until today, but this is SHADY business! Wow! My husband brought home these donuts home and they were huge! The box didn't even close. They were definitely a treat. Our kids loved the sprinkled donuts. Are you awake at 4 or 5 AM? GO. I don't even care if you're not in the mood for donuts, just GO. My friends and I have frequented this place on several early morning occasions after a long night out, and these are seriously THE best donuts in the area. I've tried other Rainbow Donuts locations, but this is by far the best. Their donuts are big and tasty, and they're especially delicious when they're fresh. The owner of the place is SO friendly, as well. Just this past weekend, my friends and I walked in just as the place opened at 4 AM. My boyfriend wanted a chocolate chip bar, but the owner said that it would take a few minutes longer to order, since he was still baking it. We said that wasn't a problem, so we all sat down to relax for a bit. In the meantime, as the owner's constantly filling the display shelves and tending to the donuts baking in the back, he comes out to the front with four cinnamon rolls for us-- for free! Once the other donuts were done, we ordered some more. I ordered a maple cake donut, and the icing was perfectly sweet, and the cake wasn't too dry like it ends up in many other donut places. One of my friends who ordered a dozen donut holes said the owner gave him more than he ordered, again, for free! This guy is amazingly nice! On a previous visit, my boyfriend ordered the chocolate chip bar again (it's seriously yummy and gigantic!), and the owner apologized for the donut being "too fresh," so much so that he couldn't put it in a bag because it would stick to the sides. I've been picking up donuts here for parties for my daughter. All different functions. And I do not honestly with a conscience do not see anything bad about this donut shop. The man that owns that works really hard. And I don't think he deserves the nasty comments and reviews that were left here he's been in business for many years. Local doughnut shop in my neighborhood! :) It's been here for ages now and used to stop by to get sweets for my class parties back when I was in high school before going to school. Such nostalgia! I would normally order about 2-3 dozen doughnuts and they always came out to be so cheap $17-$20 and the family working here is always so sweet and generous with bright smiles on their faces. I do recall that the doughnuts aren't as fluffy as KK, but still very delicious especially their blueberry doughnuts was a favorite among the class. :) read more

The ham and cheese croissants are to die for here! I work directly above and there was a point in time where my friend and i got so hooked that we would buy like 5 a day. I calmed down alot since then though haha i limit myself to about 1 a week now. I get coffee and donuts from here almost everytime i have a morning shift. The coffee is a little on the weak side but if the lady worker is there just let her know and she's always more than willing to make a new stronger batch for you. She makes the best coffee imo! The donuts here are good, the service is a nightmare. The first couple of times I came here I was told I was being 'given' a donut along with the one that I ordered. As it happens, I was being charged for what I didn't order. After realizing this, I'd kindly say 'no thanks' whenever I was 'offered a donut'. But recently, when ordering a dozen, I was charged $11 by the lady who works there in the afternoon, when they've always been $10. I asked the owner (who works the morning shift) how much a dozen are, to which he said $10.50. When I said I'd recently been charged $11he showed no concern whatsoever, and defended his employee's shady practice. Ultimately I realize $0.50/$1 is no big deal, but the principle of fair and honest service is not something the staff at Rainbow Donuts value. read more

Finally, i've found it ... the perfectly glazed donut. If you're picky about glazed donuts like me, then you know what i'm talking about. That thin coat of glazed sugar, slightly harden, but when you bite into it...all soft and moist on the inside. Similar sensation as when you eat m&m's. That's how they make'em here..... Because I am a local, I had to write a review about this place. It has been here for as long as I can remember and it has been the same owner all of these years! KUDOS to him. Their glazed donuts are not only delicious but are about 25% bigger than the average glazed that you can find at other donut shops. It's fluffy on the inside and slightly crispy on the outside. We initially came here the first time to get powdered donuts but they don't make them so I opted for a crumb cake donut. It was just ok. Their yeast donuts are definitely their signature ones. Lovely register lady comes out to the parking lot to mad dog and yell at you if you park in the fifteen minute parking spot in front of her shop. Even though I'm just dropping off my kid next door and will be gone in two minutes, I enjoy sitting there for ten more minutes to watch her squirm as she sits there "protecting" her spot. The donuts here are great! I love getting donuts holes so I came by before work to get some. The lady gave me a free donut hole to try which was nice. She charged me $3 dollars for 12 donut holes.. Last time I think I paid $2. The prices on donut holes aren't placed on the board so it can't say exactly how much it is (I don't come here too often) but she also handed me a sugar twist donut that I did not ask for..?
