Excellent turnaround time for cleaning AND alterations! I brought in about 16 cherished items (10 of which had to be taken in post-pregnancy & significant weight loss). It was a BIG job and only took 2 to 3 day turnaround for all but four items! They were very patient and kind as I explained everything and they measured me explaining their ideas for how to tailor items to my new body. In addition, they were extremely sweet to my toddler daughter! At one point, she was asleep in the car and the seamstress volunteered to sit with her so I didn't have to wake her up. And then when she woke up and came inside, they played with her and drew pictures with her while I finished up. She may love this place more than I do and I am pretty impressed with this local business. The price was very fair, as well, for everything I needed! Definitely coming back! read more

Took in a black beaded cocktail dress that to have it shortened. It was pinned at the right location, mid knee. When I came to try it on before picking it up it, she had shortened to 2 inches ABOVE my knee. She said they saved the material so they could sew it back on. Went to pick it up again and it looked horrible. Then noticed that she cut the lining even shorter. They had to sew that back on, and it looks horrible. Not my regular dry cleaner or tailor and will not go back there ever again. read more

I'm so pleased with the sequin dress I had altered at Rainbow Cleaners. My bridesmaid's dress was basically custom fitted to cinch at the waist. The neckline was lifted and extra sequin fabric pulled at the back to showcase the backless plunge that allowed the gown to fit my body well all the way down to the floor, dressed hemmed to length. Very feminine and clean alterations throughout. Sonny was extremely helpful and accommodating given next day rush. I highly recommend Rainbow Cleaners for alterations. read more

Worst alterations I ever received! Took in a sundress to shorten by 5 inches and the hemline was all crooked. They proceeded to argue with me that he is a professional and would not admit to their mistake even after I tried it on at the shop and they measured that it was off quite a bit on one side. The second piece they were supposed to tighten the elastic waist line on a pair of shorts. It didn't even look like they did anything and they were still extremely loose. Terrible customer service!! Paid to have a shirt fixed and it was not completed. When I went in to request to fix she had a terrible attitude and was very defensive. She said I could pay her again. I will never use them again. My husband requested they be careful around buttons on his shirts and she said that is crazy I have never heard that request in 30 years. The woman who runs things is horrible. You better count your dry c items upon dropping off because very likely that a lessor number are available when pick up. Happened numerous times and switched to Tide Dry C in same strip shopping center. More expensive but have NEVER lost an item. Don't take a chance with your clothes by going here. They lost my husband's pants and after much arguing she agreed to pay for them. Several months later they "misplaced" two of his shirts that were never found. She also overcharges by saying that your credit card is "no good, use another" then charges the same amount on both cards. When I saw the double charge a few days later, she claimed the credit card machine was broken and she would take one charge off. She never did so I called the credit card company and they declined to pay her. She played the same scam on our son. We don't go to this place anymore but our son took a sport coat and shirt to be cleaned. When he got them home, the same stains were still there, the sleeves were stretched out and one shoulder pad was twisted and bunched up. Go anywhere else but here. I usually use their tailoring/alteration service for my jeans (original hem), shirts/blouses buttons or loose seam and various dress alterations; and gladly to report no issues with any of my alterations. It's sometimes hard to find a good alteration place for your favorite clothes but I would recommend to give this friendly neighborhood dry cleaner w/ alteration service a try if you are looking for one in the area. read more

I've been going to Rainbow for 22 years and for the most part have been satisfied. Most recently though I suspected they were overcharging me fir my white and blue collared dress shirts. Today I dropped off 6 shirts (4 of which were brand new and never worn) and asked the lady about the coat pet shirt. She replied they were $2.00 per shirt. I think that's what she stated. I then asked her why she was charging me $16.95 for 6 shirts to which she replied something about my shirts having oily collars. So my suspicions were true. By the way she didn't even look at the 6 shirts- she just took it upon herself to charge me more. Bye bye Rainbow after 22 years!! Got to try something new!! I brought in a pair of men's dress shoes for a complete replacement of both soles (which had holes worn in them) and heels. 3 weeks later (yes 3 weeks) I picked up my shoes. For $72, a thin piece of leather was glued on the soles and both heels were replaced. I questioned the owner who said I didn't need the soles replaced. I said it doesn't matter what you say I need; it's what I asked you to do. After wearing the shoes 3 times, the thin layer of leather is peeling off. Never again! No business for Rainbow Cleaners! TERRIBLE! RUDE! if you bring in 6 dress shirts for laundry, she tells you half of them need special care (dry-cleaning) cause there's oil on the collar. She wants $5 a shirt to dry clean instead of $1.60 to wash. Scam scam scam. Dont believe her. The laundry service (washing) takes everything off the same way. When I told her I dont want to dry clean the dress shirts I just want them laundered, she told me to take them home wash them myself and for $1.60 she will press them. I have never experienced such rudeness in my life. Any other cleaners would never tell you you have to dry clean a mens business dress shirt. Over priced! Discusting people. read more

I wanted to give this business a fair chance, as so many locals wanted to support it. However, my experience was so bad, I will not return and am noting that others have had similar experiences. I had brought in a man's shirt to be laundered. The front counter clerk noted some sweat oiliness and told me they would address that. OK, no problem. What I wasn't prepared for: what I thought was to be $1.85 laundered shirt ended up being a whopping $9.00 dry cleaning charge. Of course no disclosure of those extra charges were disclosed when I dropped off the shirt. So in order to get back the shirt, I had to pay a hefty fee and they STILL were not able to get the oily parts clean. The counter clerk was rude, shouting at me (difficult to understand) that what they did was standard. Ummm, no. Had I known they were going to upcharge ridiculously, I would have opted out. They never disclosed that their "extra attention" would inflate the cost 5-fold. Not returning. read more

HORRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE! I took my work blazer to be dry cleaned here since its near my house. My blazer was quite old and fraying at the cuffs. The owner stated that I needed to have the cuffs repaired in order to have it cleaned. As she was explaining this to me, she proceeded to tear apart the cuff using her fingers through the holes. She asked me if I still wanted to have it fixed and cleaned and I said "Well, I guess I have no choice now." She had caused it to be unwearable. I left feeling like she had ruined my jacket and I felt horrible. I went back the following day to tell her that I just wanted to throw the jacket away. Although she had quoted me a service time of 4 days, the jacket was already fixed. I had no choice but to pay for it at that point. I did state that I felt horrible about what she did and she got really defensive and yelled that she didn't need my money. She proceeded to charge me the full quote price and took my money anyway.
