First time here . I order vege burger. Its does not have cheese . Fries are burn brown. I ask for cheese and its take long time. So for convenient i called in to ask for cheese and she talk to me and soon she hang up kind of rude. And sone2one give me cheese and its so dry arround and soon the man come to my table ask me what wrong i showed him the cheese is old and dry. And he tell me dont come back. And i havent try tge hamberger. The man. I guess the manager come to my table ank me to pack box togo. And ask me ad soon I'm done. He want me to leave. Now i try the vege burger and the patty is dry lije card box. This is tge terrible restaurant i ever eat un my life . And so rude. What kind of a business is this. No good. Dont taje complain. Then one of the waitress ask me to leave. And latter give box togo and said i was told to ask to leave. And also when i first come the table was little dirty. And little wet. My fiance have go to tge bathroom to get papertowels to wipe table. We normally went to red robin before. They also make mistake. They even make 4 mistake in one time. Like glass of water is dirty they happy to give me new one . Fries was cold they give me new one. They give change is not enought i dont complain. Whatever i said i helping their business better. And they are try to please customer. And even they make mistake 4 time in that days . I still gave 8 dollars tips. I am a very good tipper. There was a new employee who serve me . I give her $10 tip anyway. But my hamburger i have one bite. The patty its like cardbox i dont want another bite. And thy give box to go. Yak .. and i guess t he manager i guess also is a cook. Have no head net on his head. And he dont even have a chef apron on. And he have about 1" of beard. And another cook have long hair also have no hair net and apron either. ZERO stars. I went to rainbow cafe this morning. I was a few minute early. I had been there early before as I was today. I tapped on the front door. I saw the manager.He came and unlocked the door. I was thinking coffee coffee coffee. Then as the manager was talking at me. I heard and felt the resistanxe and negativity in his tone of his voice and saw the same in his body language, aka none-verbal communication. I stepped back.Then °an employee had come up behind and to the far side of the manager. (I had eaten there before and had seen this emploee when he came out of the kitchen area.) As the manager said his last unkind words to me, , the employree, a burly hefty hard man who looked as if he were going to beat on me. As he was coming towards me, the manager said, no, I'll take care of this. Take care of what? I got scared and left. All this over a few minutes. I won't ever be going back. This is the kind of people that run this restaurant. Not ok. Customers spend money at the restaurant and are to be treated with respect. Not here. Truth lives. NEWLY REMODELED, NEW OWNERS. This place has really turned around science about 2 years ago. The place looks snazzy all evergreen decor and soft comfy booths brand spankin new. Breakfast is Bomb digatty, Lunch is off the hook, and Dinner is awesome. I eat here all the time, and they never let me down. The owner is nice and attentive she will listen to all you're comments and suggestions. I'm a very picky eater and the very nice waitress and the awesome cooks accommodate all of my ridiculous needs. so like the other review before me i read don't let the negative reviews keep you from coming in and trying them out.. I am writing this review regarding my experience working at Rainbow Cafe in Auburn. I was terminated after being told I took too long cleaning the bathrooms, even though I was carefully disinfecting surfaces to ensure proper sanitation. The individual who trained me demonstrated cleaning the restroom in about five minutes by using the same towel to clean the toilet and then wipe down other surfaces and even tables in the kitchen. This practice is unsafe and can spread bacteria and contamination. I chose to take extra time to clean the restrooms thoroughly and hygienically, and rather than addressing these serious sanitation concerns, management complained about my pace and ultimately fired me. This experience raised major concerns for me regarding food safety and cleanliness standards at the establishment. read more

Went to see how the Rainbow Cafe was doing after the shut down. There were two customers in the bar, just like before. The pull tabs had been shut down due to inability to pay off winners, just like before. The owner vehemently rejected my suggestion to have a George Floyd memorial to generate some badly needed business. It was sad to see that some people just can't shake the macho racist views of their teenage years, just like before. I have not eaten there since 4 years ago when my wife had lasagna that was still frozen in the middle because it had not been microwaved long enough. So I can't really comment on the food. Today was my second time going to Rainbow café and I really REALLY like the pancakes! They are warm, sweet and chewy! I ordered the 222 Double rainbow special where you get 2 eggs, 2 pancakes and 2 pieces of either bacon or sausage and it's cheap! My server was really sweet both times, really accommodating to myself and my 13 month old. The food comes out warm and QUICK! The atmosphere is very quiet and it has a "locals only" feel which is awesome. I would recommend trying this place out if you want a cheap, quick breakfast with great service! read more

I really don't know why this quaint little place doesn't have more stars on Yelp. It is a real classic café and lounge with a banquet room to boot! It was clean from the kitchen to the door, friendly service with a smile and some polite conversation. The coffee was fresh and good. They cook good looking classic Americana café food. Well the rainbow is under new management, 50 years of excellent food and staff is gone. Rainbow is only offering breakfast, no lunch or dinner, SAD! THE new staff is OK, but the place is not the same. Cold! All the warmth is gone and the place is just average now! The rainbow bar is also COLD. I am missing the warmth. Been going here for 10 years! its just a good old fashioned Diner. The staff is ok. Its slow, but its for us regulars, we like it! This is the kind of place you bring family members you havent seen in a while to talk & catch up. Its a good home feeling place. It may look old an worn out, but thats called history. read more
