don't come here if you're hungry, took about 40 minutes to get our appetizers and an hour to get our entree. food is amazing but extremely disappointing service read more

Been going here for over 20 years. Food is always consistently delicious. Staff extremely friendly.

Ate here for the first time recently. Food was delicious (I enjoyed the gnocchi) but did have to wait a bit for the waitress to come at the beginning (we almost walked out) and to get our check at the end. The in between was fine. Our water was also not refilled. However, I would recommend this restaurant as the food was great. I agree with the other posters the prices are a little on the high side, but it's BYOB so that kind of balances it. Atmosphere is nice too. read more

While the food was excellent last night at Raimondo's -- all four of us liked what we had very much -- on a busy Saturday night the service was horrible. Our server was pleasant and enthusiastic, but went AWOL on us for about 30 mins. We waited more than 90 minutes (you heard that right!) to get served our entrees; when we finally tracked him down, he explained that there was a backup in the kitchen. We explained, nicely, that that's the kitchen's responsibility, and his was to communicate with us. To boot, the proper thing to do would've been to apologize and perhaps comp us a dessert (or something!), yet when the check arrived, no such concession was made. Unfortunately, we won't rush back. read more

early bird special spot. decent Italian food for an island. open all year. no atmosphere. byob.

Our party of four was seated in time for the early dining specials. Both the food and service were the best I had on the south end of LBI this. Meal included appetizer, salad, entree, coffee/tea and dessert. Great choices for each. Our server, Stephanie, was excellent! Thank you Raimondo's for a wonderful dining experience. read more

Food and service were excellent. Pricing was very uneven., Appitizers and soup were priced OK but most main courses were through the roof. Some ,however were fairly priced so you can eat reasonably priced food if you select wisely. Entrees were priced up to $55. read more

Mediocre food, rude staff, high prices. I would have given the place three stars (rounding up) for the food even though it's overpriced compared to the many other options on the island but the older lady at the hostess desk, who I believe is the owner's wife brought the rating down. They really treat their customers like it's their honor to be there. It's as if customer service is a foreign concept to them. Bottom line is that there really is no reason to choose this place over any other on LBI, especially if you're looking for great seafood. Dine elsewhere. read more

We went for our mother's 80th birthday. There were 10 of us and when we made the reservation, they told us we would be seated in the semi private terrace. When we arrived, we were seated in the main dining room. No big deal. We had also inquired about bringing a cake. We were told that it would not be a problem and they would keep it in the fridge for us. There were two servers that would be taking care of us who came to our table promptly and opened our wine and gave us glasses. After that, the service quickly went downhill. We ran out of butter, olive oil dipping for the bread, water, soda, etc. My aunt got the gnoochi and said it was terrible. No one came back to check on our meal. My 4 scallops for $39 were cooked to perfection; however the risotto had way too much salt. Three people had chicken parm and said it was good. But here's the kicker, the complete turnoff- After our meal, the server came out to ask us if we wanted the cake cut on plates. Of course! that would be great! Then she informed us that there would be a $3.95 charge per person for the cutting fee because they will add whipped cream and berries. In our messaging back and forth about bringing our own cake, this was never mentioned. Needless to say by this time we decided to end the night here and have our cake at home. Overall the food was very good with the exception of the gnocchi but not worth the price. There are much better restaurants around. For that price, you expect superb and it was definitely not that. read more

WOW!!! Been coming here for years and never been disappointed!! Jerry, Rich and John are fantastic servers!! Always very attentive, and never leave anything unattended to. Make sure you pay attention to the specials, they are the best!!! Not to mention Lisa, Donna and Brittany(ENJOY)!! The hostess's.It feels like family every time we are there. great place for great italian food although as others mentioned it is pricey. The food tasted fresh and was delicious. the filet mignon i order medium rare came out a little more medium than medium rare, but the quality of the meat covered that up with no problem. But it is very pricey there. read more

I had a great experince eating at Raimondo's. The atmosphere was great, I like quiet. The waiting staff were polite and efficient. They gave you good advice on the food, which was exceptional. This week I'm taking a couple of more friends to enjoy this establishmnet and I would reccommend it to anyone who enjoys a great dinning experience. read more

The food was good. But the service was so slow we almost fell asleep. We got there at 9 and didn't get our main entrees until 1130. We asked the hostess what was taking so long and she blamed it on us! She said it was it was our fault because there were 3 courses. 3 courses shouldn't ever take that long! Overall good was good but the service was so awful that I would never go there again. read more

My husband and I have been coming to Raimondo's for 3 years every time we are on the island for summer vacation. We enjoy a high end meal once in awhile and Riamindo's is just that. Although I agree with a few previous reviews that their pricing/policies are a bit over the top, it still doesn't distract us from going there. This restaurant is more for grown ups, who aren't afraid to pay a little extra for a well cooked, tasty meal. I just had the seafood raviolis and although there were only 3 large raviolis, it was accompanied with a large grilled succulent shrimp with mushrooms, red peppers and fennel all in a lobster sauce which was light and extremely tasty. Coming to Raimondo's is something I don't do much so when I can, I savor it. My only dissatisfaction is the size of the tables for 2. As diners, we would like to feel we have more elbow room while dining on their delicious food. Please give us some more table room!!! read more

I'm not really into Italian food but I went along with the crowd. Everyone seemed to like their food but weren't wowed. Service was decent and because we made an earlier reservation we were sat right away which wasn't the case for those behind us. read more

Been there maybe 100 times. Every meal was outstanding. Service excellent. Best restaurant on LBI by far.

We returned to Raimondo's after a very good meal last year, and were disappointed. The two appetizers were not like we had last year. The eggplant tower had heavily breaded and fried eggplant layered with tasteless tomato slices. The heirloom tomato salad was a huge disappointment; there were only a very few wedges of tomatoes scattered through mostly lettuce and croutons. This is advertised as an heirloom tomato salad! The pork chop was very good and tender, but the seafood carbonara was too heavy on the cream and I didn't notice any shallots or pancetta in my dish (as described in menu)! Not sure we will return. read more

Long time residents of LBI my husband and I go to Raimondos once or twice a season and were looking forward to our night out this year. When we sat at 7:30 there were two large tables around us with a number of kids who were clearly ready for bed. I ordered a simple spaghetti with vegetables and shrimp for close to $35. When it came it was bow tie pasta and had no shrimp. I mentioned it to my server who apologized and immediately took it back to the kitchen. When she reemerged she had the same bowl of bow tie pasta with a few shirmp thrown on top. Her explanation was that they were out of spaghetti. The kitchen clearly could have cared less that this was not what I ordered. Any restaurant that cared about their customers would have explained the situation and let the customer decide what they wanted rather than making the decision for them. We will not be going back and have already told anyone who will listen! read more

We had a table for 4 on sat night the 13th. One of our guests decided to order salad vs. entrees because he was not feeling well. The rest of us all ordered full dinners and appetizers. We were informed by the waitress that we all had to order entrees or we had to leave. Simply put, the waitress said this is our policy. This was NOT posted anywhere in restaurant or printed on the menu. We chose to leave because this did not feel right to us. I asked the owner, Karen, on the way out why she was doing this to a loyal regular customer and she very forcefully told me that she had 3 months to make her money! When I questioned if this was even legal, she said don't tell me how to run my business. I was in shock upon leaving and embarrassed in front of our out of town guests. This is NJ being "stronger than the storm?" Is this Legal? By the way- we left the waitress a tip for her trouble, as this is really not her fault. read more
