Lovely atmosphere for low key, classy wine tasting with both an indoor and outdoor space. Very friendly staff that are knowledgeable on not only all of the wines but the Paso Robles area as well. They offer several varietals and all of them are good, it's hard to choose which to buy! Note: this is NOT the place for large/loud/rowdy groups, party busses, or the like...that's not the vibe here.

Such a GOOD BOY!!!

Another enjoyable stop during my Paso Robles adventure. The facility was top notch, the service was excellent, & the tasting was excellent. I wound up buying a bottle of 2014 Chardonnay. I'm a real newbie when it comes to wine so I tend to go with the sweet, lightweight stuff but this REAL wine was so good I couldn't resist. I appreciate the time my server took to answer questions patiently even though my knowledge base regarding wine was so limited. Really pleasant young lady. She brought her dog Indy, a Golden Retriever, with her to work so I got to spend time with the dog as well. What a sweetheart of a dog. When I retire (dear God I hope it's soon!) I really want a Golden. If you visit RailsNap and see Indy walking around greeting guests, please say hi for me. Such a good dog!!!

Plenty of outdoor seating. Cheese platters are also available in addition to the wine. They have both reds and whites available for the tastings.

One of the reasons to visit this winery is to meet the owner Pramod Kolanu who has transformed the former Maloy O'Neill property into such a beautiful place. The tasting room is very practical and large. Pramod is very fond of gatherings and hosting events. He was in the middle of a two-day hosting of other winemakers when we visited, but took the time to chat with us. His efforts to make his patio a welcoming area, complete with a place for music and dance, will really serve him well in what will be a bright future. Using the top of the hillside on the property was a very wise choice as it affords huge views in all directions. We liked and bought the Rosé for our summer drinking needs. The Cab was imminently drinkable and would be very popular with folks who have yet to develop a discerning palate. Low acid, low tannins and good fruit forward is the Cab's calling card. It could be an all occasion red wine to serve to non-wine drinking friends. Great hosting of the tasting and the wine club would be easy to join. Strongly recommend to people just getting familiar with the Paso wine industry. Be sure to do the check-in for their Yelp deal.

The West side of Paso with its French lineage wineries and mega-million dollar showplace estates get most of the press and almost all of the accolades in this region. Even so, it would be foolhardy to write off Paso's Eastside wineries completely because of this and Rails Nap is one of the great reasons you shouldn't. Located a few miles south of hwy 46 among some picturesque rolling hills covered in vines sits Rails Nap. It's a fine property that certainly cost a couple dollars itself but is in no way overbearing or ostentatious. Because of the times you can't check out the wonderful tasting room but there's a spacious patio and an outdoor bar that sufficed very nicely. And in a few months, their amazing elevated deck will be finished and you can taste while taking in the panoramic view of those beautiful rolling hills :-) But I know you're not driving out there for the view ;-). The great folks manning the patio had 6 wines open for tasting the day we visited and were very happy to provide table side service with excellent descriptions for each wine as they were poured. The offerings were fairly standard for the region starting with a Rose' and working our way through a Chardonnay, a couple red blends and finishing with a straight up Cab Sauv and finally a Petit Verdot. The wines were rich and fully flavored with the nicely balanced Chard and the stunningly good Cabernet Sauvignon (2016) being favorites. We loved the cab so much we bought several bottles. The chard was also a standout being rich and full flavored but still having some crispness and acidity. Overall, Rails Nap is an excellent place with great wines, a fantastic location and wonderful people. This is exactly what you want a winery and a winery visit to be, so don't be afraid of Paso's Eastside :-)

Super engaging staff, with fun activities (corn hole, games, etc..) to keep you around! Sights are amazing and plenty of space to make you feel at home.

Beautiful Winery with Spectacular Views! Visited this winery by fellow yelp reviews and not a disappointment! The drive up the hill was exciting and the quietness outside was definitely different. They have nice bold reds and the Rose was fantastic. Purchased the Aner..Yumm! This is a must see and try fantastic wine!

Fabulous view, great wine, and delicious cheese and crackers.

I cannot say enough about this fabulous winery. They are in a gorgeous setting with rolling vineyard hills and have arguably the most spectacular hill to watch the sunset from after a glass of wine. We enjoyed our wine tasting and were thoroughly content with the sunset on the hill.

Gorgeous tasting room and the wines were all stellar. The view was amazing and the property was stunning. We had the pleasure of receiving our tasting from the owner himself (Pramod Kolanu) and he was warm and professional. He had great knowledge and pride in his estate. Thank you for making our experience so wonderful, we will be back!

Very nice small winery. Very friendly. We liked the Rose and the Aner. Off the beaten path but well Worth the travel.

This winery is very beautiful and the tasting room and patio are very inviting. The inside is cozy and welcoming. The owner was very fun and easy to talk to. The wines were all amazing. Very clean and refreshing, I loved them all. We had a great time at this tasting and highly recommend this place to any and all, be it veteran wine tasters or newbies.

Great new winery in the Paso Robles area. Great service and good wine on a beautiful property!

We stopped here on the way back to our Airbnb and so glad we did. The two women working were so friendly and gave us local recommendations, in addition to some deals on their wines! We loved the Rosé, Grenache, Cab sauv and Tennat. Indiana, the guest relation officer (golden retriever ) was very welcoming.

He was welcoming, attentive, and incredibly knowledgeable throughout the entire tasting. He didn't just pour the wines, he walked us through each one, explaining where they came from and what made them unique. You can tell he genuinely enjoys what he does, and it elevated the whole visit. FOOD: We didn't go for a full meal, but we did have some charcuterie--and wow. The cheese selection was delicious and paired perfectly with the wines. Simple, but very well done. AMBIANCE: This spot has such a cozy, homey feel. Sitting on the couch honestly felt like hanging out in someone's living room (in the best way). It's relaxed, comfortable, and perfect for slowing down and enjoying good wine and conversation. DRINKS: We did the 6-wine tasting (2 whites, 4 reds), and it was a great mix. Each wine felt thoughtfully chosen, and with Anthony guiding us through the tasting, we got so much more out of it than just drinking. His knowledge really brought each glass to life. OVERALL: If you're looking for a laid-back, intimate wine experience with great service, this is definitely a spot to check out. I'd come back again just for another tasting with Anthony.

By the end, pretty much everyone in our group had found a wine they wanted to take home--including the ones who swore they weren't buying anything. Dennis, our Tasting Room Host, made the experience. He was warm, very knowledgeable, and genuinely engaging with everyone--from the serious wine lovers to our six-year-old--while keeping things professional and elevated. The whole visit struck that rare balance: polished without feeling formal, refined without ever feeling rushed or "in-and-out." Dennis has been with Eberle since 2017, and you can feel how much he cares about the place. He spoke about the winery with such genuine pride, and as you look around the tasting room at the rows of award ribbons from years of vintages, it hits you--this is a place with real history behind it. That sense of legacy and care is woven into the whole experience. The historic wine caves are a must, the complimentary tasting felt generous and unhurried, and the grounds have that unmistakable Paso magic--rolling hills, big oaks, golden light, and room to breathe. We even crossed paths with Gary Eberle (founder, 1979) and his sweet black poodle, Vieto--one of those authentic, only-in-wine-country moments that sums up the welcoming spirit here. If you go, ask for Dennis--he turned our first visit into one we'll plan future trips around. Good to know before you visit: * Make a reservation--it gets busy * Don't skip the cave tour (you can even taste down there) * Large lawn & games--great for kids and mixed groups * Very dog-friendly * Private, romantic tastings available in the caves * Complimentary tastings + military discount available * Plan to stay a while...and bring your camera :)

Our first stop when we arrived in Paso. We've been to so many wineries, this would be one of our top 10. The spice pairing is unique but pairs so well with the wine. Buy 3 bottles to waive the fee. Since it's more of boutique, the bottles are quite pricey, mostly ranging near the 100s. But it was our favorite the whole weekend we went there. And we bought 6 bottles. We loved the spell and got 3 bottles of that! It's a Syrah cab blend. Has the Paso flavor that we love. It's not a vineyard, just a tasting room but worth a visit. We met the wine maker too. Friendly and attentive service. Can't wait to pop open a bottle at home soon!

They had a room set up in the back for us (it pays to make a reservation) and it was personalized with our name and it had a comfortable couch and other seating, with a beautiful tapestry on the wall. Our "guide" for today was Nyoka, and she was fabulous. I don't know if she was solely helping us or not; however, it sure seemed like it. She was really sweet, was so informative and just a pleasure to talk to. We did the tasting, and we also did the optional spice tasting for an additional $15. I would strongly encourage you to add in the spice tasting. It is definitely well worth it, and it goes with the wine tasting so well. Nyoka was very good at not only telling us about the wines; however, also telling us about the spices, history, growing conditions, the owners, and even the geography -- along with a map as a visual. She was truly a pleasure. We did end up buying three bottles to take home. These bottles are a little bit pricier than ones we usually buy. We usually fall in the $50 range and these were definitely in the $75 to $90 range for most of them; however, they were definitely good and likely premium. We had an excellent time, and would return again in the future.

The host at the entrance was incredibly dismissive and wouldn't even let us finish our sentence before cutting us off. We were told our only options were to come back in an hour, a "limited" tasting, drive all the way downtown, or just pick up our shipment and leave. We asked for the Wine Club Manager to resolve the situation, but she wasn't on-site. To be offered a "partial" tasting as a favor after nearly ten years of support was the final straw. A Memorable Experience Rooted in Family, History, and Great Wine…read more We discovered Steinbeck Winery through their website, where the rich family history immediately drew us in -- especially the story of the 1956 USAF plane crash on the property during a rainstorm. The owner's quick thinking and medic experience helped save three of the airmen, though sadly, one lost his life. That deep connection to history and place was felt throughout our visit. We took the Jeep tour with Cindy, which was the highlight of our time there. She gave us an incredible behind-the-scenes look at the winemaking process -- from picking the grapes to pressing and barreling. As we rode through the vineyards, Cindy shared stories of growing up on her family's farm and the history of Paso Robles. We even got to taste grapes straight off the vine to check for ripeness -- such a cool touch! After the tour, we enjoyed a wine tasting, and every wine we tried was excellent and easy to enjoy. The Viognier really stood out -- crisp, refreshing, and perfect for a hot day. The Crash red blend, created in honor of the airmen and the crash, was a beautiful tribute -- complex yet smooth, with a soft finish and a subtle dryness that made it memorable. And don't forget to say hi to Cri Cri, the winery dog! She's the sweetest greeter and fully deserves all the belly rubs.
