Delicious food and the margaritas are amazing (mora/blackberry is the best). I went with a few friends last night and we all thought it was great! We had arroz con pollo, bandeja, the tostones con guacamole and also a ceviche... Everything was just right! They also had a show (which apparently will be an every Wednesday thing) playing Cuban and Flamenco music, it was also very entertaining. Overall it was a superb experience. Looks like a nice and clean place. The fruit drinks made with milk or water are really good and there is a variety of food on the menu! We order a griddle full of a variety of different meats, rice and beans, fries, and platanos and it was just ok. It came out smelling burnt and over fried. The meats such as the chicken and the steak were extremely overdone and too dry. I think we could have made a better selection but overall everything on the menu should be worth it and it was no where near worth the price. The music is extremely loud so it is hard to make a lot of conversation but overall good service though. read more

Went here on a recommendation when we visited New York on new year's eve, and was that the right choice. We usually grab a martini at the bar before dinner. The bartenders makes an excellent Lemon Drop Martini! Drink slowly!!! The martinis taste innocent, but I got a little tipsy after drinking just one. Nice little spot, with TVs to watch soccer, or football. The staff is attentive to a point, but you need to wrangle them sometimes to get a drink order in. I asked if they had a drink menu, and they said they didn't. Not less than 10 minutes later, a party of women walk in, ask me if I can move over for their party, which was fine by me, and the same bartender rattles off the drink menu. You have to love selective service. I'm a pretty big tipper when I go out to restaurants, since the wait staff don't get paid well for the most part. I doubt I'd be back here anytime soon. read more

The service was ideal because aside from the waiter assigned to my table every time I looked up any of the waiters in the restaurant were asking if I needed anything. When the cake was being served half the people were not asked or served coffee/tea. Maybe they should invest in a customer service class. The room is airy and comfortable, and with the huge windows open today it had all the charm of outdoor dining yet in indoor comfort. Chicken empanada appetizers were delicious, with a garlicky sauce I'd never tasted before and can't wait to have again. Penna alla vodka was lovely; My fellah loved the chicken breast with lemon sauce, which we were told was usually served with a half chicken. Why have they started to enforce gratuity at Bachu? They never had before. Forced gratuity means lack of service which is what I had experienced recently. Gratuity has never been forced in any Manhattan bar I've been to, why in Jackson Heights? Food mediocre and over priced. Drinks decent but I can't spend more because of the forced tip. read more

I was happy to see this gorgeous place replace what was there before- an ugly, dark, and dirty restaurant. This is definitely a nice addition to Jackson Hts. The service is excellent. My boyfriend and I went to check out the new place in the neighborhood. We had high hopes for the place but those were dashed quickly upon ordering our drinks. I ordered a fuzzy navel and the waiter and bartending staff were not sure how to make it even after we told the waiter what was to go in it. We then had to write out the recipe for the manager and he proceeded to make the drink. When we ordered our meals we wanted something simple and yet what we got what a big headache. I ordered a meal that was steak and steamed potatoes yet I got greasy fatty steak and something that was grilled and not steamed for potatoes. My boyfriend ordered a meal that was to be chicken without any steak or pork. Instead of chicken he got pork and steak and when we stated that it was the wrong meal all the wait staff was unsure what to do. When we then told the waiter what my boyfriend would take in replacement they took way too long to bring it. It was empanadas so it should have been easy. Well that took forever and when we went to the manager to tell them that we wanted to pay for our drinks and leave he seemed confused as to why I didn't want to eat fatty meat and my boyfriend didn't want to wait 20 minutes for his new food. We left after paying 14 dollars for our drinks, 1 beer and 1 mixed drink but realized we would never go back. Such a shame as we like to try new places. The food was very limited and made us realize this was not a place for us. They definitely lost our business. read more
