The purple haired Gen Z employee was sitting at a table on his phone. The chef, Jose, had to come out of the kitchen just to get his attention so he could take my order and answer the phone that had been ringing. I placed a simple order for an 8 inch cheesesteak and asked if they had Cooper Sharp cheese. The employee responded, "Like Cooper American?" I said yes, that's exactly what I meant. When I went to pay with my card, I noticed there was a $2 surcharge for using a card. I switched to cash, only to find out afterward that I had been charged extra for the Cooper Sharp cheese. It would have been nice to know that before ordering. When my cheesesteak came out, I was honestly shocked. There was barely enough meat to cover half the roll. Since it was a takeout order, I brought it back inside and politely said, "I'm sorry, but this isn't right. There's barely any meat on this sandwich." The employee looked at it and asked, "So, like, what's wrong with it?" At that point, I asked him to get the chef. The chef told me every cheesesteak comes with 8 ounces of meat. Whether that's their stated portion or not, the sandwich I received certainly didn't look like it. Then he said, "I don't know where you're from, but this is how we do it here." Well, I'm from Philadelphia, where the cheesesteak was invented. I've eaten cheesesteaks my entire life, and I know what a proper cheesesteak looks like. The one I was served was skimpy, overpriced, and nowhere near what I expected. To make matters worse, when they processed my refund, they initially tried to give me only $10 back even though I had paid almost $13. They didn't even seem to know the price of their own menu items. The dining area reflected the same lack of attention. The employee went right back to sitting on his phone while the tables remained greasy and covered in crumbs and residue from previous customers. Instead of helping customers or cleaning the restaurant, he was completely disengaged. The Alfredo sauce had the right consistency, but unfortunately, it was just as bland as the pasta. Even the shrimp, which I normally really enjoy, lacked flavor. This was honestly the first time I've had shrimp that was both bland and disappointing. I also decided to add broccoli, but unfortunately, that was bland as well. What makes it even more frustrating is that I specifically asked for a recommendation on what to order, and I was told that "everything was good." Unfortunately, that definitely wasn't my experience. I hope they take this feedback seriously and consider improving the shrimp Alfredo, especially when it comes to seasoning and overall flavor. When I called again, I told them I was willing to accept the incorrect pizza and only asked that they deliver the cheesy bread we had already paid for. They refused because the cheesy bread itself cost less than their $15 delivery minimum--even though it was part of an $80 order and their mistake was the reason it was missing. I live only about two miles away and was home alone with two young children, so I couldn't simply leave to pick it up. Mistakes happen, and I tried to be understanding, but refusing to deliver a paid item that your restaurant forgot is extremely poor customer service.
