One of the more interesting places I have visited. Initially did not know what to expect but turns out one of the best times I ever had. Never threw an ax before that was a challenge all by itself but the company of our friends made it that much more enjoyable. It was a win for me because I learned how to throw the ax and even hit the bulls eye! If you are looking for something for a group to do indoors this is a great spot! The instructors teach you everything you need to know so you won't feel intimidated. I highly recommend this place and would not hesitate to visit again but bring friends as it will be more enjoyable.

So my boyfriend came in town from Memphis to visit his sweetie. He has never been axe throwing so i decided to take him!! Let's just say i think he's been before I would definitely recommend this place! First off the staff is so welcoming and friendly. I loved how knowledgeable and attentive they were! They explained the games so well. Gave pointers on how to properly throw the axes! It was so much fun!! I enjoyed how they joked and laughed with us! Overall i loved everything! Thank you guys so much for your awesome customer service! I will be back

This is so much more fun than expected. I went into this thinking, oh well I'll throw an axe around a couple of times and then go home... Well first off you have to pick a cool viking name and also a team name... then you get instructions... listen closely... it's not as easy as some make it look... I had a terrible time getting the axe to even stick on the board while some of my team were throwing bulls eyes already. Eventually I learned... back to that later though. Our Instructor (Master Splinter) was very engaging and soon we were involved in different CV competitive games... I think there were 3 in all before we got to the individual competition, elimination Style... ask for Mr. Master Splinter for added fun. Well, my inner viking must have come through for me and I ended up winning the title of Lumberlord... which was then proudly stamped onto my body. At the end you get to put on some viking garb and take awesome pictures. Altogether a wonderful and fun experience. I highly recommend this for anybody... and no worries, they can teach anybody. Also you can bring drinks with you, yes even beer... Tell them Sigi sent you ;-)

Fun! It was great fun! And, it was fun! I didn't know what to expect, but if I had expectations, what I received would have exceeded them. We went here for my wife's company outing (she had a cool job, with cool outings...). We came in, signed waivers, and got right to work on safety instructions. Then it was on to training. Once we were all trained and showed our safety competence, it was on to the games. We had enough for two teams and competed for the best team. The final game was the best axe thrower. Who would have thought throwing an axe and making it stick into the wood target would bring such a feeling of success?! But it totally feels great when that thing sticks. And a bullseye feels even better! This is a great place for groups - big or small. And you can also go it alone. And ... did I mention - this is fun!

I wasn't really sure what to expect going into this place, but it sounded like a fun thing to try out. We had a group of 12 people and took up 4 lanes with 2 main instructors (Master Splinter and The Ax Wife). The first thing we had to do was sign liability waivers and then we were told to pick a funny Viking name for ourselves. No one knew what to choose, so most of us went to Google and just picked a regular Viking name. Once divided into teams, we put our "names" on our board and chose a team name. Then, the fun commenced. We started off by getting instructions on how to through an ax and then being able to practice for a while. Once everyone was done practicing, the games started. We played 3 group games and one individual game (with a single winner crowned). I won't spoil the surprise, but the winner gets a major prize bestowed upon them. After all the fun, we donned viking attire and took group photos. This was a hilariously, comparatively, fantastic evening out. It exceeded my expectations, and I can't wait to do it again. Notes: Wear comfortable clothes, including close-toed shoes. -It is a workout, so stretch your upper body beforehand or you'll be super sore the next day. -You can bring your own food and beverages in (including alcohol), but they do cater and have a food area for parties or corporate events. -Arrive 15 min early to sign waivers -Even if you've never thrown or handled an ax before, you'll still have a great time -Pictures and video are allowed -It's located right next to the Guitar Center off 86th Street (NW of the mall)

I can now cross axe throwing off my bucket list! Several of us ladies that do martial arts together went to Ragnarok to celebrate one of their birthdays and it was such a cool experience! Although we had to wear masks the whole time, it didn't deter from our experience at all. We laughed so hard, and the employee Chipper, who was with us the whole time really made the experience even better! He was so helpful, attentive and hilarious! This location is taking great precautions to keep safe including spreading out groups, masks, designating per party restrooms and sanitizer available. This is something I can't wait to go back and try again! I see a date-night here with the hubs in my near future!

Anyone who thinks this is crazy or scary hasn't had the experience of throwing an axe yet. It was crazy fun! Not only was the experience very invigorating, but the employees make it fun as well. I would dare anyone to try this out and tell me that they didn't have fun. I double dare you! I came here with my co-workers for a company event, and I was definitely intimidated at first. We all signed our waivers, and our instructors, Pork Chop and Hukk, gave us a great intro to axe-throwing by saying that the god, Loki, has sent them here to make warriors out of us. We each got to do a training session with the instructors, and then the games began... We split into teams, and played three games. Each game had a theme of going into battle and training for the battle, that kind of thing. I struck a bullseye a couple times during the games, which got me a picture on Instagram. Woot woot! Finally, the winners of each group were named Lumber Lord, and given a stamp in a place on their body of the group's choosing. Our boss got a "tramp stamp", and our other co-worker got what they called a "treasure trail" stamp. Guess where that is. Lol. After the humiliation of the Lumber Lords subsided, we took a group photo in Viking garb. They also have a bar where you can get drinks like soda and beer. And make sure you're not wearing heels or open-toed shoes. You must wear closed toed shoes to your session. You won't regret it!

This is by far the *lamest* axe bar I've been to. I'm sorry, but every other axe-throwing bar I've been to gives you 1.5 hours of actual axe throwing, not a bunch of hand-holding nonsense. At the other bars I've been to, you get at least 60 throws without supervision. Here? You're lucky to get 15, and you have the "Axepert" there the whole time. You go to an axe bar to throw axes, not to play a bunch of ludicrous games that take more time than necessary and give you a few throws apiece. There's no way to develop a good rhythm when you're throwing one or two shots at a time. And I'm pretty sure their lanes are way shorter than other places. Also, according to them, there's only one way to throw an axe (again, different from how other places teach you), and they won't let you do it in any other way, which is super fun! At every other axe bar I've been to, you reserve a lane for your party. Here? You're likely to get paired with a bunch of people you don't know, which can be cool until they randomly split up your party. I came to hang out with my friends, not a bunch of randos. Other axe bars have real bars, not a couple of basic beers (out of the can/bottle) and a couple of basic wine options. Hope you like the one IPA they have, Yuengling, Stella, or Dragon's Milk because those are literally the only beer options. Also, I was going to give this place two stars because I thought the customer service was good at first. That is, until the "Axepert" starting hitting on one of the women in our party who was here with her boyfriend. So, honestly, screw this place. Go to Bad Axe instead. You'll actually get to throw axes. Only go here if you want to get treated like a child while drinking garbage beer. read more

Really fun place! I prefer this location over Bad Axe in Indy. It's a bigger range and much easier to get booked. My friends and I had a great time for my birthday. Sapling was a great coach! The only reason for 4 stars instead of 5 is the beer selection isn't great. They only had an IPA, Dragon's Milk, Yengling, and Stella. They need more variety. read more

Not even worth a single star. We just left the gun range with no instruction and had to go through a half an hour of instruction to throw an axe. What a waste of money!!! We were asked to leave all because we just wanted to throw the axes on our own. Told we wouldn't get a refund and then we were threatened with a phone call to the boss! Ooooooh so scared. Seriously go to another place unless you want to be managed by someone the entire time. Absolutely asinine! read more

If you're looking for a fun and unique group activity, this is it. The technique is pretty easy to learn even for those that don't consider themselves very athletic. We did the supervised game session and it was a blast. Our guide, Lizzie Borden, was fun and very patient with our group of mostly first timers. They have a bar that serves beer, wine and soft drinks and light snacks. If you're looking for a fun way to spend time with friends and have a little competition, this is a great choice. read more

Although the axe throwing was fun, our experience was very so-so. Our "axepert" Sappy was not the most enjoyable person to have as our helper. She was very condescending to us and passive aggressive (using tactics that treated us like children). I have no doubt that if we had a different "axepert" I would rate a 5/5 because the facility is great, safe, and it it was nice we could bring our own food. read more

This business is horrible and trash I would not recommend going to it they stole my groups money. We were not happy and wished to leave. I'd recommend anarchy axe throwing they are awesome have great service. We deserve a refund I will be looking to take them to small claims court . The guy was so rude . read more

This place is awesome, amazing, fun, fantastic, a blast, or any other positive comment that you want to throw out there. It incorporates two awesome things: 1. Axe throwing 2.allowing you to drink alcohol. This is a must do, and I recommend for all adults that are looking for a night away. The staff is very courteous and wants to see you improve. Driftwood was an amazing teacher and she is also very funny and my mother in law couldn't have picked a better place to spend my father in laws b-day! read more

We had part of my bachelorette party here in September and it was so much fun. The owner and employees are awesome people who really want you to have a great time and a plus is that they had fun with my group themselves. First when we walked in we had to wait about 45 minutes to get to our booth even though there was two open booths. After that they gave directions on what to do. Then they encouraged our kids to use inappropriate names like "axehole" and "smart axe". They also said if they didn't it would be "lame". Then they mocked our throws and every missed they would come up and "teach" saying they were "pros at this". The board was also very beat up to the point that there was barely any bulls eye left. Over all I was not Impressed and would not go again. read more

My family (age range 12-40) went here last week at the 12 year olds suggestion. We were surprised by how much fun each and every one of us had. I have to say the main reason we had such an amazing time was our "axepert" Smart Axe. She had everyone, including jaded teenagers, laughing and having fun the whole time. My mom even enjoyed the bar while the rest of us were throwing axes. This is a GREAT family activity for older kids. It would also be a great date night. The entire staff was amazing. Like I said, Smart Axe was amazing. Tom O Hawk kept my mom hydrated and laughing in the bar all evening. Definitely would recommend this place! read more

Three generations of my family went to Ragnarok tonight, and we all had a great time. None of us had done it before, but the learning curve is not steep. My dad started out thinking he'd never hit the board and ended with three bullseyes! Both my nieces were able to learn it, and one of them was even named Lumberlord (a true accomplishment)! Driftwood did a great job keeping the action going, and quickly got us up to speed on rules and form. There's lots of silly Viking costumes and props everywhere, and you know we all dressed up. Would definitely throw there again! read more

Who knew throwing axes could be so exhilarating?! Went here on a Friday night with some friends and I was blown away by the customer service. As soon as we walked in we were greeted at the door then taken to our station. Chipper was an excellent host and exceeded my expectations. Instead of just throwing axes, there were actual games they had us play to get everyone involved. Fun filled night and I will definitely return! read more

We took a group to Ragnarok for our son's 17th birthday. The kids had a blast! We felt very safe with them throwing after the great instruction from the Axe-Terminator. He stayed with our group the entire time ensuring safety and running games. The owner Richard checked on our group multiple times and was very friendly. I would highly recommended Rangnarok for teens or adults. We will definitely be going back! read more

Very fun atmosphere! The axeperts (Porkchop especially) are extremely entertaining. I appreciated his casually delivered one liners! I have never thrown axes before so I greatly appreciated the time that was taken to teach us. I was with a big group and we participated/competed in teams with Viking themed games. The only thing I felt was that I didn't get to throw enough. This may be contributed to group size. I'd definitely recommend them though! read more

While visiting Indy we decided to give axe throwing a try and it was GREAATT! I was afraid to get hurt throwing the axe but Huck our Axpert, made it so easy with proper technique and building our confidence over time. The games he introduced us to, made it even more enjoyable. Huck, you certainly deserve a bonus from your boss! This is an excellent place to build connections with family and friends and with one on one attention from the axpert, it was definitely worth the visit! read more

I give one star because it exists and I don't think you can leave zero stars. There are so many other axe throwing venues in the area, would not recommend this one. We reserved a lane for 4 people but we ended up sharing a pin with 14 people so my group would have gone 3 times each while we waited to work through the bigger group we got stuck with. On either side of us were groups of 4-6 people so clearly reserving a lane for a small group was something they did. Our "guide" was terrible and we left before we even threw an axe. Beware they not give refunds but they reschedule appointments; however our first trip was so bad, I'd rather eat the $138 charge and never go back there again. read more

Fun time for sure!! A little loud, but you quickly get used to it. The axemaster keeps the game flowing and helps keep you safe. We had Tom'OHawk and he was funny and energetic! I went w about 12 people but still had plenty of opportunity to throw the axe and have fun! Great group outing, and I will be back! read more

We had so much fun at Ragnarok! Our Axepert was very fun and informative. First, you pick a Viking name. Next, we divided into 2 teams. Next We played 3 different "games" and went on to the final game. They do have a bar that you can go to for drinks while throwing. The only negative I have is that it was uncomfortably hot from the moment we walked in to the very second we left. Nevertheless, I recommend going to Ragnarok over any other Axe throwing place. read more

Would give zero stars if I could. The employees were rude and wanted to waste our time with the safety rules/procedures by requiring each individual person to do the same steps while everyone else watched and learned anyways. Also, they wanted us to play a game with their dice which our group did not care for while being rude about it and called their boss just because we were complaing about our time/money wasted. Half an hour wasted before we were allowed to start throwing on our own if we wanted to before we actually walked out and decided not to return. read more

The brewery side had such a unique combination of sours. I had never tasted the sour, they were more than happy to let you try everything! So many of them were great but it was hard to make a decision. They have pizza and breadsticks, it's a pretty basic menu but the pizza and the breadsticks were both high-quality not cheap bar food. When you were all done with the acts throwing they have a huge paved area outside with tables and umbrellas. You can sit out there through the afternoon and evening underneath beautiful Edison lights and keep going in and getting beer. It's a very quaint neighborhood, there was adequate parking on the streets around. It was exciting, it could be romantic for a date night, or casual with friends, it was just all around an awesome location. The lanes and the tables were not right on top of each other so you definitely felt like you had adequate space. The restrooms were clean, the staff was helpful and they were actually really fun. They give you instruction and pointers as little or as much as you want for the acts throwing. The bar staff was awesome about making recommendations and letting you have plenty of tastings. All the way around it was just a whimsical experience of flavors, activities and you lose track of time.

I've always wanted to try ax throwing. We don't have one locally so I had not been able to. my husband and I decided to go up to Indy for our anniversary and meet up with some friends and we tried Ragnarok. We did the guided experience and it was fantastic. Axe dr was our guide and he did a wonderful job keeping us competitive and entertained. Huck checked us in and checked on us periodically. He was a great teacher. everyone was super nice and helpful. We had so much fun. The Viking theme is great fun. I would tell anyone to go and we will be back again. read more

This place is a lot of fun! Other axe-throwing places basically hand you an axe and tell you where to go, then leave you alone. Ragnarok is different: they teach you thoroughly how to throw, and then lead you in a bunch of fun games! They also have their own bar ("Beverage Smiths" according to the bartender) serving a variety of drinks; I reccomend Dragon's Milk. All in all, a wonderful experience! read more
