    The axe throwing arena!
    Quinn L.

WOW! Axe throwing was something I never thought I would try, but here we are! Anarchy Axe Throwing occupies 3 storefronts of a strip mall, with 6 lanes of axe throwing, a bar and sitting area, and an escape room-esque experience. My party of 4 was lucky enough to snag a lane in the private alcove, where there was a small table and barstools to sit while we waited for our turns. A whiteboard was provided to keep score, along with a scoring guide and suggestions for games. My group played ANARCHY and 51/41, two simple party games that anyone could put their own spin on. The employees taught us how to throw the axes properly before we started our games, and they stopped by periodically to give helpful tips to improve our throwing technique. With their help, I was able to get my first bulls-eye! Keep in mind, Anarchy does charge by the person instead of renting out lanes over increments of time. I cannot recommend Anarchy Axe Throwing enough for parties, company events, and fun nights out!

We visited here for a birthday gathering last night. It was my first time axe throwing-I'd recommend signing and reading the waiver before you visit via their website. The staff were welcoming and went over the lane rules effectively. They have a full bar to order some drinks if you so desire. They had a wide range of axes/hatchets to throw. It was surprisingly fun and I felt I caught on quick.

I've always really wanted to do axe throwing. But I never found the time or people to do it, until now. My friends, while on my annual trip to Indianapolis asked me if I wanted to do axe throwing. I of course said yes, hopping this time I could actually seize the opportunity. With a quick five minute tutorial on how to throw an axe on YouTube we headed to here. The place felt like the chill cool hangout spot. There is a bar for people to enjoy their drinks and several axe throwing stations. I will be honest our first 10 throws were awful, they kept bouncing back or just landed on the ground with a thud, but the failure of not hitting the board was really getting to me, I really wanted to get it, the guy who checked us in, man I really wish I could remember his name because shout out to him! He said that everything I was doing right, but all I needed to do was move forward a little and he said that I would not miss, and guess what after that quick tutorial not a single axe dropped to the floor. Man the thrill of hitting an axe into a wooden board is unlike anything. I need to get my other friends into axe throwing, not only is it fun, but in some sense, it is stress relieving and exhilarating. Give this place a try yall!!!

My in-laws used a gift card they received for Christmas, for anarchy axe throwing. We specifically chose anarchy because of the location (not downtown) and their ability to take reservations and their online gift card ordering. SO EASY. Making a reservation for a weekend appointment was easy, we scheduled an hour session. They seemed a bit short staffed for the amount of people there, only two employees. The basic instruction/walk thru was rushed a bit hard to hear with the noise nearby. The staff seemed pretty aloof, but I guess to be fair we didn't need much supervision. The facility itself was spacious, however the women's bathroom was pretty bad. Perhaps someone got sick in one of the stalls? Overall, we had a fun time, but I agree with the other reviews- the staff was uninterested and the drinks were overpriced.

Definitely my favorite place to throw axes in the Indy area! Love the "assist if asked" default taken feeling much more comfortable for friends not as familiar with throwing. Multiple visits and most recently did a two hour block where we were able to throw ninja stars and knives in addition to axes. Clay was awesome balancing drink refills at the bar between set up and instructions. Had a great time and will definitely be back again soon!

It was ladies night out and we decided to do axe throwing as a spontaneous thing to try after we left the cigar lounge. Last time I attempted to do this it was packed but this time we had no problem getting a 9:00 pm spot on a Friday night. When we arrived we had to sign waivers electronically and everything was pretty seamless. I think it was $22.50 each for the hour time slot. The bathrooms were fairly clean and they had cleaning products visible due to Covid. The staff were wearing mask as well. They also sprayed and cleaned our area before we started which was nice to see. We were given instructions on how to throw and some ideas on games we could do as a group. It was a pretty chill atmosphere and the bartender had me in stitches (I forgot her name). We all bought a round of drinks and if you're a whiskey or tequila drinker DO NOT drink their well drinks.... They are horrible. It smelled like toilet water and tasted like cough syrup. The price alone should give you an idea on why it's so cheap... we opted for a round of beers after that experience. Even the bartender agreed it was horrible... lol Don't waste your money. Other than the drinks (I still have flashbacks on that hot mess) it was a lot of fun. It's something different and it's something to do for an hour or so. If it was more than that I think it would've been too much. They have different axes to try and the staff was kind enough to take a picture for us. All in all it's something different to do and try with friends. If someone was going there alone to just thrown axes .... Ummm, RUN!

Stopped in on Tuesday around 5pm - we were the first two, so we were able to get a full run down of the lay out and our throwing options by Michelle, who also made us some tasty drinks! Even though it was just the two of us, we had a lot of fun and I definitely recommend anyone and everyone to come visit and let out some aggression!

arrived here right at our start time for our birthday celebration. completed the waivers as there's a QR code to scan. it only took a few minutes. we stood there waiting.... then we're told he's going to get us setup & do some tutorials but first we hit the bar. -- bartender says she is closed- oh boy - then says "we had no clue y'all were even coming, or had a reservation" ??? so i say "okay we can reschedule, we want to make sure we get the full experience" . it became very uncomfortable.. we're told it's fine. bar remains open. they only serve liqueur because ya know axes. they really need to stop and just sell quality food. doesn't matter if it's contracted out from another business. selllll fooood. i do agree liquor at an axe throwing place is dangerous as heck. our demonstration was very thorough! i loved every bit of our session. he even came back by request to show again and give some pointers. the wood needs to be replaced, PERIOD. there were moments that my axe would stick and fall with chunks coming down with it. or it would hit perfectly but not stick because there was nothing for it to land in. this place needs some serious operations work but their staff even with the bartender fiasco were nice. they have an escape room as well. price was $50 -2 ppl - 1hour .

Anarchy is definitely my favorite axe throwing venue in Indy. The atmosphere is really fun, with good music (and a full bar), and the hosts are very knowledgeable about your throwing style and offer helpful coaching. There is plenty of parking, and you can book online and sign your waiver (required) in advance of your visit. If you show some skill, the coaches may even bring out some special items to throw..

We had the best time at Anarchy Axe! Just hosted an event for about 50 people and it could not have gone better. So much fun, affordable, the food from Ale Emporium was as great as always and the highlight was our host/bartenders Cal and Clay. They were so helpful and fun, and gave us all the educations we needed. Great time and highly recommend for a team building event or just fun evening out - especially if Cal and Clay are working!

We loved doing something a little out of the ordinary for dates so this was great! We went at a time that was not busy at all. The atmosphere was good but also felt like it wasn't super inviting or comfortable just because there wasn't music playing for a while and only one person working the bar and the axe boards... but listen- phoenix the instructor was great and made it a great experience and he let us choose the music we wanted . It was great!

Anarchy Axe throwing is a great place to entertain and let loose some steam. Who knew throwing axes would be so much fun! We came here for my friend's 50 birthday celebration and my birthday as well. The staff gave us an introduction to how to throw an ax and the safety precautions to make sure we did not get hurt. Once this was done, we just went at throwing axes at the targets. This is a wonderful venue for having group events or birthday parties. It is a lot of fun for adults and there is a full bar as well in the facility where you get beer, wine, or cocktails and watch TV as well while people are throwing axes. They also have an escape room if you want to get a group to try to escape a room based on clues. I had a blast at this venue and will definitely come back here if the opportunity arises to do so!
