This place needs an updated review and a little bit of love! I'm not sure what this restaurant is doing differently than previous ski seasons but todays experience was better than any resort I've been to in a while. We sat at the bar (bartender was Jules) and it was really busy. We had no issues with service at all. We had the Frito Pie, baked beans, and cornbread- perfect for warming back up. The food was really good and not the usual cafe trash. It's obviously not a Michelin restaurant but for a ski lodge it was perfect! Should have taken more photos... only down side is they open at 11 which is kinda late but I dig this place read more

Came here after our gondola ride and walk in the snow for coffee and some comfort food. The food here was casual but very hearty. We ordered seafood chowder and spinach and artichoke dip with pita bread, we liked it. Our server was nice and respectful. She had this cute smile and warm attitude. Service was just a little slow, probably because of the amount of people in the restaurant or short of staff. The restaurant itself was spacious, any one can get a seat right away. There's also a bar which is a little tight. When we went it was a weekday and it was busy, skiers come and go and some were just waiting for their family and friends. We will stop by again the next time we come to Crystal mountain resort. read more

I wish I could give this place 0 stars. Never in my life have I experienced such rude/hostile behavior from employees like I did here. My friend PURCHASED a beer and one of our other friends who is 25 took a few sips which promoted one of the older male servers to come and confiscate the purchased beer as if we were some children claiming our other friend was not old enough to drink (which they were and friend left id in her jacket which she left on top of the mountain, while they skied for the day) mind you she had her ski lift pass that stated she was 23-69 age group.... Overall horrible service and experience. You'd think that the employees here would be more appreciative of the business skiers/snowboarders give them during the snow seasons, but they still proceed to be rude and condescending, so overall DO NOT GO HERE! read more

The bartender is the worst one I have ever seeN. 20 minutes to get a Diet Coke. The glass of wine was never poured. He left one persons hot chocolate until it got cold before he tried to serve it. Waited 20 minutes for a table when half of them were empty. This place was NOT Slammed. It was on a Wednesday. Time check, 35 minutes and no wine. Loser Tor on the job! Wine finally came. Only stopped in for a drink with a big group after a long day of touring and was glad because I didn't want to stay much longer. They barely had any available beer options off their menu. Our server was young and condescending to our group that ranged from mid-20s to late-60s. She overcomplicated our order by trying to split us up into two tables because we were a large party and made a big deal about getting us another server, but ended up just serving all of us anyway. She called us "honey", "doll", "dear", "darling", and all the cringey pet names you could imagine in every sentence. I hope this is a one off experience because this is my home mountain, but I do know of other bars that are worth spending my time/money at in the area. read more

NEW OWNERSHIP Holy cow this place has gone downhill fast. Nachos for the past 15 years were the highlight of the afternoon until new management came in and ruined a cash cow. All food served was cold and literally out of a bottle. We watched them squirt cold cheese on top literally. 1.5 hours later we got our meals. On top of this experience the host took her job so seriously she yelled at the family of 4 to come back when the other two kids came up from the bathroom. They were moved twice we watched by the same hostess as each family member showed up within 6 minutes. Waitress told us all cheese in the pasta, nachos and sandwiches came from a can. After a great ski day, this place was amazing to have some food for the day! We ordered a plate of nachos and the green valley burger! The nachos was delicious and was over in minutes(mostly because we were craving for some food). The green valley burger was one of the best burgers I have had! The patty was yummy! It was soft and the toppings were perfect! It was perfect on the whole! It did come with a side of fries which was soft and tasty and well! They did serve alcohol but we were too tired to drink(since we had a 2 hour drive back to Seattle)! Definitely stop here for a good meal after a ski day! read more

Terrible service. Completely disorganized. Walked in and sat at one of many empty tables. No service. Got up and asked a staff member how to get served. She asked if my name was on the list for a table. After I pointed out all the empty tables, she reluctantly seated me but commented that service would be slow. She was absolutely correct. Our waiter only had a couple of tables to wait on, didn't show up for 15 minutes, forgot our order, beers arrived after another 15 minutes, and we had to go find him to be able to get the check and pay. read more

Customer service can really make any place feel like a five star experience. I came here with my boyfriend and his father for a family ski trip and the Bullwheel was one of a few dining options at Crystal, located right at the bottom of the slopes. You know how these cafeterias are... the food is decent, usually a little pricey for what you get, and often greasy and delicious. The perfect fuel for getting back out and enjoying a few more runs before calling it a day As we grabbed a table and looked over the menu Stephanie came over with a huge smile, introduced herself, took drink orders and offered a few suggestions. We talked about getting the nachos to share and really appreciated that she didn't try to sell us on buying 3 plates of food because the nacho serving was so big it'd be the perfect midday snack for 3 adults. So it was just $12 for all three of us to eat! She was spot on with her recommendations, super charismatic and great with small talk. Overall it was obvious that she's good at her job and loves it. Being the thirsty skiers we were, she was quick to grab refills for us and check in on us a few times while we were there. It's not often I remember the name of a server while dining, but she really stood out for being so helpful and attentive when we first sat down. So while the food is just what you'd expect: sandwiches, burgers, fries, salads, soups, nachos, etc - The service was so great that I couldn't forget the name of our server. Happy people tend to work for other happy people and it's obvious to me that customer service is important here at the Bullwheel. I've eaten here plenty of times, and always enjoy the food selection. At times, it gets pretty crowded in here, as parents camp out a bit too long waiting for their kids to come out of ski lessons; however, you can almost always get seated fairly quickly unless there is a big event going on. The layout is great, and you have to appreciate the gondola car hanging from the ceiling! The quality of the food is excellent, and the tap selection is always compelling. They have the usual burgers & sandwiches, but some great pasta selections as well. I recommend the mac-n-cheese! The staff is incredibly friendly, and always come by to keep your drinks refreshed. The only downside, if you can call it that, is that the bar seating area is really tight to get in and out of. I had my helmet and goggles stolen from where I stashed them, only because I couldn't keep an eye on that corner the entire time, and someone was smarter than me that day. This isn't the Bullwheel's fault, however; and I'd been seated in the dining area, there would have been plenty of hooks to hang them from. Food options are always packed at Crystal. When I want to eat something hot rather than a cold sammy or an MRE, I go to the Bullwheel. Why? I can actually sit down without having to look for a table, get service, and pay only a small premium over the cafeteria options which in my mind is totally worth it. Avoid the chicken sandwich, even if you're trying to make the healthy choice it's a bad choice. The chicken was dry, overcooked (obviously) and under seasoned. Stick with the burgers and you'll be happy. They're larger than the ones they serve downstairs and you just get that little bit more food which helps even out the pricing. If you get there early you'll definitely get a table but wait until noon/1PM you'll be waiting for a spot. Worst case belly up to the bar (which will be packed) and see if you can grab a stool and you'll get served right away. read more

They had the worst french dip I have ever had in my entire life. I've had a lot of french dip, and I know they aren't too hard to make, The meat was unseasoned, bread untoasted, and the au ju was pretty much all grease. They have some pretty good food, but not this sandwich. The fries were cold too. If you go, don't make the same mistake i did. read more
