We believe that a member of our group was drugged while at this location Saturday, August 2nd. The young woman had not drank much and had only 2 beers while here. At one point in the evening she became very hyper and was not acting like her normal self. The next day she said that she remembers playing pool and sipping her beer, but the rest of the night a complete blank. Fortunately there was a large enough group of us and multiple sober that we got everyone home. We thought at first our friend was just joking with us, but in the morning we realized how serious it was. She vommitted multiple times that night and the next day. She has been sick ever since that night with severe headache and nausea. I am posting this not as a negative review of the establishment but I want to know if anyone out there has experienced this here. We were at the Brick before so honestly, could have happened there before we went to Markos. For everyone reading this. Please watch out for one another and stay safe. read more

Markos is the local bar spot. They even make you a late night pizza, pretty sure it's "digornio" not delivery, which I have definitely dominated with some help from the homies in a evening out. Stopped in at 6pm on a Monday looking for a quick meal... ordered a couple drinks, I ordered The Bacon Cheeseburger, my Partner ordered the 2 Piece Fish and Chip. Service from the bartender and drinks were outstanding and the food was excellent. Hands down best burger in Roslyn, and the fish was great sized portion as well as cooked perfectly. If I could give this place negative stars I would!! A friend and I had come over for the weekend to enjoy the Farmers Market on Sunday. We arrived on Saturday afternoon and decided to check out some of the local businesses. We arrived at Markos and there were roughly a dozen customers in the bar and a young lady tending bar. Any good bartender worth their salt can handle a dozen people. It was a solid 20 minutes before the young lady acknowledged us and WE WERE SITTING AT THE BAR. She asked what we wanted to drink, we gave her our order....we also ask for water. 15 minutes go buy 3 or 4 locals get their drinks who had been there for awhile based on the volume of their voices. Our drinks finally come and no water however. We ask again. She says ok. Goes back to visiting with the locals. The cook brings our snack out and sets it on the counter. Not a "need anything else, nothing", still no water. Meanwhile a gentleman came in who had ordered a pizza and was handed 2 boxes, he barely gets turned around by the end of the bar right behind where we were seated, he trips and falls down dropping the boxes. He tries to put the pizza that had fallen out of the box, back in it. He's so visibly intoxicated that someone in the bar comes to help him get it together. I see that his elbow is completely bloodied up, like he had fallen moments before. The bartender who waited on us, proceeds to grab her tips and pours herself a drink and goes and sits down with some locals. Never once asks if we needed anything more as she was going off duty. Finally, a new bartender comes over and is laying out bar mats, he doesn't acknowledge us either....but we ask for our tab. We had been there at this point for nearly 90 minutes. We each had 1 drink (because we clearly weren't getting a second) and an order of cheese curds. I have worked behind a bar and currently work in a tasting room. I fully understand when it gets busy, you're not gonna give the same attention to customers as you would when it's slow. But this wasn't in my opinion an attempt at customer service. I certainly won't EVER be back. I am sure that this place doesn't care... I just hope this review may sway someone who is looking to grab a drink and relax for a few, from visiting this place. read more

Markos is a great neighborhood pub. It is the locals bar in Roslyn - where most bars cater to tourists. The locals are friendly and welcoming. They serve beer, wine, cocktails & food. It has a super laid-back vibe & free pool on a well maintained nine foot table. So, being from Roslyn, I usually head out to Marko's for a night out when I'm in town. Did that this weekend, but boy was I in for a surprise. Usually, Marko's is low key and chill as the bartenders know what they are doing. New bartenders this time... And hey have no idea on how to run a bar nor do they apparently know what to do when bar fights start happening. I watched five fights break out all egged on by one male. The male finally gets pushed down and told to leave by multiple bar patrons, but guess who gives the aggressive male a drink for "being pushed first"? The damn bartender! That should sure solve the problem. LOL. We left after that and went to the Brick. Brick is a little more touristy, but at least they know what to do when someone continues to want to pick foghts read more

We came here for breakfast.. Service was slow (only four customers besides us), our waiter didn't ask us how we wanted our eggs nor did she ask what we wanted for sides, she had to come back out later and say oh so you want this and this on the side? Didn't ask us what we wanted to drink , we had to stop her as she's running off to tell her, the sausages were ice cold in the middle, all of our scrambled eggs were slimy as well & the hash browns, I really do not recommend this place at all.‍ the drive to "the cottage" in cle elum is worth it. read more

I'm actually in love with this place. My husband and I have been coming to Roslyn for a few years now and only just noticed Marko's during this last trip. We stopped in the day after Christmas to grab some drinks. They had a nice selection of beer on tap and Spire Dark Cider - one of my faves. It was pretty mellow, not many people here, but what appeared to be "regulars." Our bartender, though I didn't get her name, was awesome! I think I liked this place because of her maybe. Anyway, it was super chill. Clean for being your local dive bar. I love the randomness of it all - mix matched chairs and tables, the decor. I'm seeing some of the reviews talking about food, but we didn't have any. I didn't know they served anything. Oh, and they have an outdoor patio with heaters if you're there when it's chilly (which is probably always). We will definitely be back on our next visit :) read more

By far the most chill place in town. Instead of a no shoes, no shirt no service sign, I wouldn't be surprised if they had a no shoes, no tie dye shirt no service sign. Want a beer? The selection is decent. Want to drink beer and entertain yourself with some ping pong or pool? Why not? Want a beer and a game of ping pong and need to check your email? Go for it, they have a public computer at the end of the bar. Want to drink a beer, play some ping pong, check your email and watch your favorite sports team on one of the tvs above the bar? Look at you, multi-tasking! Want a corn dog or other mini market variety snack to go with that beer because you worked up an appetite playing ping pong and checking your email and yelling a the game? You've eaten worse. Don't want to leave your four legged best friend at home while you have all the fun? Bring em', there's several here. They can eat the corn dog you drop on the floor, or the beer you spill or fetch your displaced ping pong ball. No dice on the email or game though. Did your dog jump on you and make you spill your beer and/or corn dog when they were trying to catch your ping pong ball as you tried to run back from sending that email and stopped to yell at the game? Good micro selection, good Whisky, always good music, nice atmosphere, long L Shape classic wood bar, pool table and foosball! Very clean. Doesn't have that stale beer odor smell when you walk in. They have peanut Tuesday, a great happy hour with $3.50 micros, and $3 wells all the time. Locals tell me this is the locals bar as opposed to the tourist's bar one block away (not doggin' that one, though, being the oldest bar in WA state!). read more

Marko's Place is by far the best real ale / microbrew selection in Upper Kittitas County and is well worth the three mile trek from Cle Elum to Roslyn (I suggest a designated driver!). The service is always friendly, though can be slower than your thirst would like when they're busy - but that's a sign of a popular place and isn't about slow service as much as a busy bar. The only two downsides are a lack of space (it can be cramped on a weekend because it's so awesome!) and the noise levels (which again is down to the popularity). I always like to pop in when I'm home for a visit and am always pleased to see so many friendly and familiar faces. The SUMMARY is this: GREAT beer, GREAT prices, MUST SEE! read more

I went to this bar for the first time tonight. The girl bartender in the pink dress (I think her name was Tony?) made me feel very unwelcome. She made a point to not acknowledge my friend and I, yet stared at us while whispering to others. I don't know what I or my friend did to upset her right off the bat but she was very clearly not serving us the entire time we were at Marko's. There was, however, a tall male bartender who ignored her distaste for us and served us anyways. Because of him, I will give this bar another chance in the future regardless of my terrible first experience. read more

This place is the greatest! They have the friendliest and most welcoming staff, they play the best music (no country here), they have a 9ft pool table that is always clean and cared for (and free!), they make the best drinks in town (at affordable prices), have an awesome patio that's heated when it's cold and has beautiful sunflowers in the summer, frequently have live bands, AND the blue bacon burger is to die for! Have been here a few times since we moved to Cle Elum a year ago. Actually prefer this place to The Brick which is pretty well known but a bit pricey. We've eaten both outside and at the bar and received great service at both places. Good food, great beer & fun people what more could you ask for after a long or short motorcycle ride. read more

I wanted to enjoy this place--especially for a brew after a long backpack...The check for a beer and half quesadilla first came back at 20-some odd dollars! I pointed this out, and they changed it, but still, the half-quesadilla (at the bartender's suggestion) was $9...the full serving is $11...this isn't mentioned on the menu...argh. I'm willing to give the place another shot...but they should better inform their customers, to avoid seeming scammy. read more
