I stopped by with my husband and a buddy for lunch . I was so thrilled to see this wonderful restaurant had finally reopened under its new name of Rafi's Kitchen. It was always one of my favorite stops in Olean when it was Rafi's Platter. The owners were always so nice and the food was always fabulous and I was excited to see that none of that had changed. The menu isn't as extensive as it used to be but the food was all delicious and made fresh to order by Aamir. I had that tikka masala with chicken, our friend had the chicken curry and my husband had the French onion soup with a burger and fries. Every item came out made fresh and each item was more delicious than the next.​ ​ Aamir added to the experience with his wonderful sense of humor and fantastic concern about customer service. We not only thoroughly enjoyed the food but his company as well and had many laughs and he took a photo of us and called us new friends. You rarely see this kind of interaction with owners who really care about their restaurant and their patrons happiness. We will definitely be back as well as recommend this gem of a restaurant to any of our friends who enjoy having something different and having it done well. VERY well done. First time stopping in at this establishment after passing by it hundreds of times. Started out with a mixed drink from the bar which was terrible at best. I started to panic because I thought the rest of our appetizer (coconut jumbo shrimp with Carmel drizzle) and meal were going to be just as bad, but was pleasantly surprised when the food came out! What went from a possible bad experience turned into a nice meal with my wife. She had the chicken kabob, which was perfectly cooked, that came with rice, pita bread and tzatziki. I had the Chicken tika plate which was phenomenal. It also came with rice, pita and tzatziki. Our waitress was as nice as could be and made sure we were taken care of. They did serve A salad which was pretty skimpy. The salad was definitely not big enough for us both however. We ate on the patio outdoors which was very nice. So final rankings... mixed drink from bar a 1.5/10. Salad 3/10. Appetizer 8/10. Main course 9/10. Overall the main course made up for any other issues I had. read more

I enjoy having a chance to eat at Raffi's. The food is very good and the prices are reasonable. We don't have a lot of variety for restaurants in the area so Raffi's is a place to get things like tikka and masala. read more

Finally getting around to checking this place out. We sat outside under the new patio roof. It got a little hot, but was comfortable otherwise. There was great live music and the service was friendly! They brought chips and homemade salsa to the table --- amazing!! We shared the calamari for an app and it was gone in a flash. Rafi's Platter is a like an 'Oasis' in a desert. A lot of attention has been put into the details of each and every aspect of this restaurant. The orders - drinks and food - presentation is top notch. Decor is hip. Taste is exceptional. But what tops it all is the service from the staff, especially the owners, who are extremely courteous. They personally check with each patron to make sure they get the very best or everything, creating a friendly & memorable experience. If you are looking for delicious food definitely stop here. Six of us headed down tonight for dinner and were seated right away. Atmosphere: It is a super clean and a well done space. They have tables, booths, and bar seating. Even though it's a smaller space it still feels cozy. Staff: Everyone was amazing. Multiple servers stopped by to check on us. They were quick to fill up waters and clear the table if needed. The owner even came out to the table to see how everything was. The food: our table got chips and salsa, which was spicy but delicious. We ordered a hummus plate to start. For entrees we tried a variety of different ones: chicken curry, chicken parmesan, beef tenderloin kabob, lobster Mac and cheese, and a beet salad. Our entrées came with either soup or salad. The lentil soup is amazing. It's a bit spicy but it doesn't cloud the flavor. The chicken curry was delicious and everyone else raved about their dinners. The portions were huge. Walked in with my parents for family weekend and it was pretty slammed with a bunch of other families. We were seated in the corner of the patio nearest the band playing music, and it took them over an hour and a half to get our order out to us after we placed it. We never actually got our food because of how long it took, but even after we said we were going to leave, the waitress insisted on us staying and said our food would be right out. After that she proceeded to serve 3 other tables and the manager came over and told us that our food wasn't even ready yet. If you're busy, don't seat people and lie to them. Much rather just pick a different spot to eat and not have to wait until after 9 to get our food after sitting down at 7:15. read more

I always enjoy Rafi's Platters. My go-to is the Pakistani Platter. It's definitely filling, but everything on it is awesome. They were putting a ground beef style curry on there, which was recently removed from the platter, but it was my favorite. A close second is the vegetable curry. The outdoor seating is an added bonus, especially given the limited options for outdoor seating in Olean. They do have gluten free options. read more

Overall the menu exhibits a vast array of culinary influences: from Italian to Pakistani to New American, there's something for everyone. Jennifer, our waitress, was an absolute pro with that often sought after but rarely achieved ability to make her guests feel like family. The veggie samosas were bursting with flavor and the coconut crusted grouper rivals any fish dish around. So I am impressed and extremely sorry that it's taken me so long to come here. My expectations were high after scoping the Yelp and Facebook reviews, they were exceeded. Atmosphere: I remember what this place used to look like back in it's hot dog stand days. It's come a long way. Very modern and nicely decorated. Food: Chips and salsa were surprisingly awesome. A lot of heat behind the sweet there.. Coconut shrimp was so good my mother said she could eat two plates herself. Tandoori chicken bites were spicy and juicy and fabulous. My mother really enjoyed the Beef Tikka. And my sister put a strong dent in the Pakistani platter. It was the first time they have both tried Indian food. So the spice was a bit much for them. I was prepared and very pleased. No holding back on the punch here. The veggie curry and samosas were my favorite. Super spicy, wonderfully flavorful. I am coming back for that alone. The prices were more than fair for the portions. The Pakistani platter was $25, but it came with salad, three different curries, rice, naan, and two veggie samosas. Definitely full and satisfied. Small town but BIG flavor. The food here is so diverse and delicious. They have amazing fusion dishes that everyone should try like the tandoori chicken pasta. Two things you would never assume to be together in one dish but it's executed to perfection. I love spicy food as well and they're one of the few places that do spice perfectly. When they say their spicy is spicy, it's genuinely that. The tandoori chicken bites were amazing as well. One of the best Appetizers I had. I will be back to try other things on the menu. First time I came here it was for lunch and it was great, food was great, service was great and the outdoor seating is very nice! Came a second time for dinner celebrating my best friends birthday (just a party of 4) and it was awful. I made reservations for 630, we were sat at 630 I thought great I'm glad I did that! It took very long for someone to come over to get an order just for drinks or bring even water over for the table. He apologized and I looked around there was only two other tables. (One with just a couple at it) And two servers. So it wasn't busy at all. He finally brings the water.. not our other drinks we ordered. My daughter ends up almost cutting her lip on a sharp chipped glass to start. Finally we get our drink order and he disappears again. At this point it's been a long wait just for that. (We were ready to order or food) When he finally gets back to take our order we ask a couple questions and he said he would find out with the chef and never came back with an answer. I asked him about it and he just said oh I'm sorry they probably won't do that.. didn't even ask. Anyways by the time we got our food it was 750. Reminder... were sat at 630.. The food is great I won't complain about that, it is good! I would have been happier about paying the high prices if the service was up to par with it. I pulled the waiter aside and said it's my friends birthday, do you guys do anything for that? He said with a smile oh yea we can bring her a piece of cake! I said ok awesome, thank you, her birthday is a sensitive time for her so I want it to be special please If you can. Well after we ate and he started clearing our table it was 830 and I'm waiting for him to bring something out for her..He brings the checks. I literally gave him a look and eyes over at her hinting like hey don't forget it's her birthday but didn't want to say anything out loud to ruin it. He walks away, im thinking to get the cake...Nope he didn't come back at all. This guy was all over the place as far as not remembering things or just being careless. This restaurant serves average tasting food, but at exhorbitant "Three Michelin Star" prices. The owner must be out of his mind! I must admit that the presentation is okay, but these prices are generally seen at upper-scale establishments. Another odd thing that I noticed was that this "halal" place serves alcohol. I thought those Moslems don't use alcohol? Why would this place advertise itself as "halal" then? I guess some people would do anything to make a quick buck, even if it means that the needs of the general public are ignored. Go figure. read more

I love Rafi's Platter! The decor in the restaurant is really cute, the wait staff is always really friendly, and there always great specials if you don't want something off the regular menu (which is a great combination of Mediterranean, Pakistani, and Indian food). The dinners can be a bit pricey, but lunch is definitely worth it. The chicken tikka is my favorite, and whether you get it for lunch or dinner you get plenty of food. You also can get takeout which is a nice addition. The only reason I give it four stars is that sometimes the wait time can be a little long depending on when you go, but overall this a great addition to the Olean restaurant options, and I hope it continues to do well! read more

Great music and outdoor seating however had absolutely terrible service. Were they busy? Yes. But they took two hours to deliver food. Following this they charged wrong on all of our bills. Made us stand at the take out window to pay and split our bill. We had a baby who wasn't served for two hours.
