Tacos de chicharon
Rose A.

I called and placed and ordered tacos de chicharon I told her the receipt is wrong and she said I know that's how I put it. Look at my tacos I clearly said No cebolla, no cilantro, no tomatoes, they still added onion. 2 days in a row my order has been messed up. First day my jaiba and today my tacos de chicharon

Menu

Good food at a good price always come for the shrimp cocktail. Ask for green sauce de aguachille for a spicy kick.

Mariscos Jaliscos is a simple, humble and easy going food truck that easily beats any sit in boujee restaurant. Their menu is simple and easy to understand. Mariscos Jalisco is best known for their Fried shrimp tacos however, they have one of the best aguachiles I've tasted hands down. Their shrimp tacos are absolutely amazing with the right crunchiness and soft fried shrimp inside. The sauce that comes with these tacos are jam packed with flavor adding to the overall flavors/texture of the shrimp taco. Hurts to say it but this might be my new favorite shrimp taco in ELA/Boyle Heights area. The service here is quick and friendly. I went on a Friday afternoon and did not find busy crowds at this food truck. Street parking is available and the times that i've visited other food trucks nearby i was able to find quick parking. Its a busy street so you will find people coming in and out of parking spots most of the time. I enjoyed my experience here at Mariscos Jalisco and will be coming back very soon. You all need to come to this place.

There's still line(s) in front of nearly every food truck. Drinks are ordered from a table just outside the Victorian building. The food trucks rolled out this night were Vietnamese NOM NOM, Chinese-Mexican DON TACOS, Korean AHN JOO and CALBI, Indian INDIA JONES, Shrimp SHRIMP PIMP, and Mediterranean NO RESERVATIONS. Even an Ice Cream truck COOL HAUS. Of the 2 food trucks, Ahn Joo's truck got my first bite. Asked for kim chi fried rice, WITHOUT PORK, it was swiftly served up without a glitch. The kim chi was surprisingly very good. Good amount of napa cabbage inside, rather chunky. It fulfilled my kim chi craving at $7. The second food truck, India Jones, served up some medium spicy hot fare. Great value for $8.50. Ordered a combo of lentil dal and vegetable korma, which came with a generous serving of basmati rice. Not too spicy hot, just enough to make me tear up a little. India Jones had the longest lines and people gushed about the food. I recently enjoyed a viewing of "Jurassic Park" during an Eat See Hear event at Los Angeles State Historic Park when I was first introduced to Snowie Icy Desserts Food Truck. Although I frequently attended, worked, or volunteered at the myriad of year-around events throughout Southern California, this was my very first encounter with this meals-on-wheels. If you knew me at all, I LOVED all-things Hawaiian and shave ice was one of my favorite things to eat even as a meal itself. Would all of this bode well or would I desert this truck for another!? QUICK BIO "Snowie Icy Desserts and its owner Gisselle Lopez will transport you to the Islands with her beautiful mobile tiki shack! Their fluffy ice is available in over 30 flavors and their authentic Hawaiian toppings will definitely be a hit at your next event! If your party prefers ice cream they can offer a delicious sundae bar that will surely cater to everyone's palate. PURCHASE Mango Watermelon Flavored Shave Ice ($5.00): On this sweltering day, nothing sounded better than shave ice. This fluffy mound of feathery soft ice was so delicate it started melting instantly. With an abundance of sweet mango and watermelon syrup throughout, you also had the option to add a drizzle of condensed milk on top and a scoop of ice cream at the bottom. This was edible art at a bargain price https://www.yelp.com/user_local_photos?select=wHErc9oORPDIJSEiUmXwng&userid=8jVT2inwc8GIQ6sH2UG9Vw! SERVICE A friendly woman greeted me, quickly took my order, and minutes later my order was ready, all decked-out in its glorious colorfulness in a festive flower cup. All was chillin' - aloha and mahalo! PARKING (Varied; FREE this instance) Being a food truck, they were at the beck and call wherever the event was held. In this case, the event took place at a state park with plenty of paid parking, FREE and timed street parking along the main drag of Spring St. and surrounding side streets, or you GoMetro as I did to the Chinatown Gold Line Station. Another option was a driving service like a bus, taxi, Lyft, or Uber - 'nuff said. ATMOSPHERE, DÉCOR, AMBIENCE Your standard self-sufficient food truck with an exterior food menu, order and pick up windows, but no area for condiments, napkins, utensils, or designated seating area. Plenty of natural lighting was prevalent during the daytime while minimal electric park and streets glowed at night. There were no TVs unless you considered the movie screen and movie that played in the background. https://www.yelp.com/user_local_photos?select=HTgLGqT9_BTSQMYyClmJvQ&userid=8jVT2inwc8GIQ6sH2UG9Vw ATTIRE Totally casual, so I would normally be in a t-shirt, boardshorts, and flip-flops. OVERALL I loved the Snowie Icy Desserts Food Truck and would definitely seek them out again at the next event I attended or worked. Heck... I just might hire them for a private party (951-216-8752)! First and foremost, they sold the far-superior shave ice and not the much-inferior show cone because there is a very distinct difference. Although I only tasted two flavors, I wanted to try them all! One simple request would be to offer azuki beans, coconut, and jackfruit as additional toppings. The price, portion size, and service were perfect. And, if shave ice wasn't your thing as crazy as that sounded, they also sold ice cream and other simple sweet confections. I found complete value based on the prices, service, and experience noted above (TOTAL paid experience was around $5.00 BEFORE any discounts and/or tip). And, they accepted my credit card of choice...AMEX! 5.0 STARS

Birds were chirping and music was playing out of the speakers scattered throughout the area. It's a food truck. I ordered the cheesy Mikey. I only waited less than 5 minutes for it. The line to order was pretty long. I waited in that line for an hour or longer. But that's understandable since a lot of groups ordered tons of items while it was just me that ordered. I got to speak to Mike since one of his employees left. He verified my order, gave me napkins since it's not self serve and pointed out the ketchup and other condiments I think. The cheeseburger came with lettuce tomato onion garlic aioli sauce and the patty. I loved how all the flavors blended together, nothing was overpowering. It came with fries and it filled me up. The portion size was perfect. My order was $23.84 but that's because I tipped 10% and I think it was worth it. My one gripe was that they don't accept cash which is understandable because the kiosk was card only. I should've walked to the front and checked it or asked an employee. Yelp assistant said they accept cash so that needs to be corrected to sometimes or never.

What we ordered: I ordered the Flyin' Slider Trio with Chili Zing sauce. These were fantastic! The sauce was spicy but not overpowering. The cole slaw was tasty. The chicken was hanging off the sides of the bun. They give a very generous portion. I also got the corn poppers with lemon pepper seasoning. When the menu says corn "popperS," I thought I'd get more than one. The fact that they charged $4.00 for a half ear of corn is ridiculous. I was even madder because it was delicious! It was breaded and deep fried. The breading was great and ensured that the corn wasn't oily. If the serving was two, I would feel like I kind of got my money's worth, but not one. I'd never get that again. My husband got the 10-piece wings with half garlic parm and half lemon pepper. He said the wings were big and fried to perfection. He loved them. He also got fries. They were $4.00 for a pediatric serving size. Overall, the meal was very good. The main items were worth the price, but they really charge too much for the sides considering their size. I'd go back to support them, but please hold the sides...
