I missed getting a cab from a grocery store because the driver's phone number came up as spam and I don't answer spam calls. I assumed the next call would be from the driver. I called dispatch and was told the driver considered me a no show. The dispatcher then said they'd send another cab but they never did and would not answer the phone when I called. They stood me up two more times when I was stuck downtown, one time late at night. I now realize they 86'd me without bothering to say so, preferring to leave me stranded and waiting. How vindictive and passive-aggressive! I will definitely get the word out to boycott this company and I intend to report Radio Cab to the Better Business Bureau. This happened in Portland, Oregon, not San Francisco. read more

On Monday, November 24th, I called to make transportation arrangements for Thanksgiving Day. It has been two years since my family has been able to spend Thanksgiving together due to my husband's accident, which left him wheelchair-bound. We were truly looking forward to this day. During my call, I scheduled a pickup for 2:00 PM on Thanksgiving and a return trip at 6:00 PM. The male dispatcher assured me both rides were confirmed. Today is Thanksgiving, and at 2:00 PM my husband, my children, and I were all ready and waiting. My family was expecting us. I kept going outside checking for the cab, but no one arrived. At 2:30 PM, I called Radio Cab, only to be told that the driver "should have called me," was currently on another call, and that no estimated time of arrival could be provided. At that point, I had no choice but to cancel both trips. I cannot take my wheelchair-bound husband somewhere without his medical supplies and risk being stranded, especially when the company had already confirmed our scheduled transportation. All trust was lost. I understand that holidays can be busy, but if you cannot honor pre-arranged reservations, they should not be accepted. This experience was deeply disappointing for my family and me, and unfortunately, I will not be using Radio Cab again. read more

As I got home the payment was unable to be processed, so dispatch was called. The operator said the only person who could help was on break and then put the driver on hold. No more information, so I'm stuck in this car for an indefinite amount of time with zero reassurances that this would be resolved. I don't know if it's a ten minute break, a lunch break? Could be a half hour or an hour? I don't know, all I know is when I expressed dismay, I was yelled at by the driver saying, "It'll fall on me, but sure just go." I was a bit stunned, but I eventually asked, "Am I not allowed to be upset by this?" He eventually let me go because there was no end in sight, which is the ONLY.morally acceptable thing he could have done. Now, the absolute reprobates at the top of the company won't reimburse the driver even though it was the faulty equipment THEY forced the driver to install that was responsible. As I absolutely expected, they refuse to take responsibility because the company is poorly run and morally bankrupt. This was the single worst experience I've ever had with any business in my forty five years of life. Just know, if you use this service, they will rip off their employees for mistakes they make. 4 days before I needed a cab, they told me I didn't need a van. When I reserved a cab 2 days before our flight, they again told me I wouldn't need a van. When nobody showed up when they said they would, dispatch told me I needed a van, but they only had one and they didn't know when it would be available. After getting stood up by my reserved Uber (which I would have been charged $31 for) the doorman at the Benson called Radiocab for me. They arrived within a few minutes; John was my driver. For $6.60 he took me to the Amtrak station-- yes, for the same ride Uber (did I tell you they stood me up??) was ready to charge me $31 for. John is a second generation cabbie-- and was pleasant company for the short ride to the train station. Next time I'm in Portland it's a no-brainer. Tip them well- they deserve it~ read more

When I was in Portland I really needed a ride at around 4:30am. I started calling taxi companies the day before and NO ONE was answering the phone. I was really starting to get worried. I was told that Lyft and Uber were unreliable in the early mornings so I wanted a taxi. I did have the number of Radio cab but I was worried after reading the reviews on Yelp so I called them last. No worries! They answer the phone and booked the appointment. They also answered in the early morning when I asked if they could come a little early. They got me to the airport on time and I really did need those extra early minutes!!!! Yes, I only booked them once, but they did the job and got me there on time. Thank you! read more

Radio Cab lied to me and my children. They had promised to deliver us a Christmas dinner and I even said anything would be helpful. They asked for my address my information and said they would deliver it. Gathering donations from the public I was excited and hopeful and so was my children, but we were lied to scammed and fraud and come Christmas Eve no food delivered not even a pack of top Ramen and tuna fish. Nothing not a call. I spent hours and days leading up to Christmas trying to contact and figure out when the delivery was gonna happen. They were so cold and callous Avoided all my calls and text never once responding back not even to kindly say I'm sorry we can't help you now they received all those donations and utilize that amongst themselves this company is the root of all evil. Please do not support them whatsoever. There are much more transportation services out there That won't lead you astray. Please, whatever you do find other transportation do not support a company that lies steals and cheats families and children of their hopes of having a Christmas meal. My children were devastated. We are in extremely low poverty, although we do get food stamps rerun short every month it's not enough to feed for children and myself. I often make sure I go without just to ensure my children eat first. There are resources out there for food, but is very minimal and hard to compete with other people to get those services so you could imagine how our hopes were excited to receive a Christmas meal *GOD does not like ugly and Radio Cab is the root of all evilness read more

Booked a WAV 24 hours in advance for my mother's doctor appointment she'd been on the waiting list for 6 months. Her appointment was at 11:30, I booked the cab for 10:30 giving us a huge window of spare time. Driver didn't show up until 11:15 and then after trying to get her in the cab realized that it was too small for her wheelchair. Now it's 11:28 and we had to cancel the appointment, it's going to be another 4 months before she can get in to see the specialist. Though had they shown up at 10:30 when they were supposed to, I would have had a whole hour to try and find another ride. Radio cabs booking system is garbage and their communication is god awful. Do not book Radio Cab for anything important, they're just good for a ride home from the bar. read more

Booked a cab the day before I needed it for 6:30am. I got a message at 6:30am(the time they were supposed to be picking me up) that I would now be picked up at 6:52. I called and was told they were short staff that am and the earliest they could pick me up was 6:52. I told them I had scheduled a specific time because I had a flight to catch. I also told them they should have stated that they can't guarantee a time and in this case I would have made other arrangements. All the guy did was connect me to his supervisor's voicemail. I left a message and said I wanted a call back. I was not picked up until 7:00am during which time I could have called an Uber and been half way to the airport. I was quoted the ride would be $42 but was charged $47. I wasn't going to argue with the driver since I was already late. Still waiting on that call........ read more

Used Radio Cab for years. Always reliably on time, even in the early morning hours when a ride to airport or surgery is essential. I feel safe on the trip, knowing these are full-time committed drivers. Also when scheduling a ride, I can talk to a real person, although there can be a hold to reach the courier. read more

Still waiting for my taxi. Granted, I live just outside the Oregon City limits, I'm really not that out of the way. I used the app to schedule a pick-up an hour-and-a-half ahead of my pick-up time. I thought that was plenty of time. I naively thought cab companies assign drivers to their customers. Apparently, taxi drivers are gig workers and have the choice to pick you up or not. And, nobody, as of yet (half-an-hour after my desired time), has picked up the request. I guess the moral of this story is to not assume that a cab company will pick you up like it used to be. read more

Scheduled a 9 pm pick up on Christmas Day 12 hours in advance. They left us stranded in the freezing cold. When I called them at 915 pm they just said they had no idea if and when we would be picked up. Absolutely unbelievable...! At 940 pm they called and asked if I still needed a ride.? Why not call at 9 pm and say no one was showing up. Luckily I found an Uber driver who had just dropped someone off to take us home. Whoever is working the gas pumps tonight (5/2/23 7pm) is unstable and should 100% not be working with people. I went in for gas tonight and this guy LOST HIS SHIT on me. I went around a car in front of me--slowly and with ample space--and this dude runs after me shouting, "STOP! HEY! STOP!!!!" He's then right at my window, shouting at me, "you can't do that!!" I tried to politely explain I was just going around to pull up to an available pump, because I thought there was a misunderstanding. He just cut me off and shouted "NO! GO AROUND THE BLOCK AND COME BACK AROUND!" I said, "woah! I'm sorry, I wasn't trying to upset you" as he was storming off. Obviously dude is having a bad day but wtf??? So inappropriate. the driver was fine and polite. However, first i was quoted a flat rate price of $65 (an estimate). if it is flat rate, how could it be an estimate when they have the address of pick up also. Then to confirm when i called again the price had increased to $75 (flat rate estimate). This was all within the normal cab rates in pdx so i finalized the radio cab. However, when i was dropped off at the pdx airport, the cab driver said the price is $92. He pretended to look again i'm not sure where as i told him what i wrote above. He said those are estimates and now the bill has come to $92. He didn't show me the meter, as i could tell meter wasn't running. On our way there was no traffic that stopped even once and we made it to the airport in 40mins. This i would call a 'highway robbery'. I wouldn't have problems with the charges if they were honest and here they were not. An estimate of a flat rate doesn't make sense. So, i booked another cab for going from pdx to beaverton (home), they quoted $65 flat rate and said they don't have meter and this is how much they charged. I "scheduled" a pickup (for an urgent care vet appointment for our cat) a day in advance at 3PM through the app. The request was accepted and I got a "driver requested" notification ~30 minutes prior to the pickup time. No taxi showed up. At 3:20, I called the dispatcher and asked if a cab was en-route. The said no, explaining that their drivers were "very busy", but that one of them would likely accept my request "as soon as they could". By 3:30 I had already missed the vet appointment and cancelled the ride request (which had still not been accepted). Apparently I had a fundamental misunderstanding of what this company actually is, and I'm guessing many others will too (as their website and app are suspiciously vague about the exact service they are providing). To be clear to any potential customers: This is NOT a "make a reservation and a taxi will pick you up at the specified time" service. When you request a ride through this service, they send a "customer pickup requested" to an indeterminate number of drivers who may or may not be available to pick you up on-time (or at all). The only thing "scheduling" a pickup actually appears to do is automatically send out a standard "customer pickup requested" message 30 minutes before your scheduled time. I would definitely NOT use this service for appointments or anything even remotely time-sensitive. But you don't mind arriving at your destination several minutes/hours late (or not at all), then you could try using Radio Cab (though I'm not sure why you would). read more

Booked a cab through the app for a Monday morning 4am pickup. The driver was on time and helped load my luggage into the trunk. He wore a mask the whole time and we had a pleasant conversation the whole ride from Northwest Portland to PDX. Tip was automatically added to the fare upon arrival by the app/machine which was fine by me - less to worry about. VERY happy with the punctuality and friendly experience. I just returned from a trip to Portland with my husband and son for the long weekend. I am in a wheelchair, this is relevant to the review. When the weather hit on Saturday, it became clear that we were not going to be able to use public transportation to get back to PDX on Monday morning. Since I'm in a wheelchair and need extra accommodations, I went online, downloaded the Radio Cab app (Radio was recommended to us by one of our hotel workers), and reserved a cab ahead of time. Again, I booked a cab for early Monday morning well ahead of time on Saturday afternoon. Our flight was for 7:05 AM, so I scheduled pickup for 4:45 AM to allow plenty of time to get to the airport. Monday morning rolled around and imagine my surprise when the request for a cab didn't even go onto the board until 4:45, the scheduled time of pickup. My anxiety grew still when the app informed me that it was having issues finding a cab for us and we'll be informed when one is ready. My husband called Radio Cab to be greeted by a very unpleasant dispatcher whose only response to his statement that we had reserved a cab and needed to get to the airport was "A lot of people are trying to get to the airport." Yes ma'am, I was aware there would be many people trying to get to the airport, that is why I reserved the ride well -in advance-. We never got our cab. I ended up lucking out and finding an Uber big enough to fit my wheelchair into it. We arrived at the airport at 6:07 AM and made it to the gate about 5 minutes before boarding. The kicker? When I finally confirmed an Uber and canceled the trip with Radio, my husband immediately received a text to please call Radio Cab. When he did he got the same lovely dispatcher telling us that they couldn't find us a ride and they had tried calling me but I didn't pick up. I assure you that I got no such call and I had my phone with me the whole time seeing as I was frantically trying to find an XL Uber or Lyft that could pick us up at 5 AM. The entire situation was incredibly stressful and unnecessary. If I return to Portland I will make sure to stay far away from Radio Cab. read more

This can company is an absolute shit show! Called 4 days in advance to schedule a wheel chair van to take my Mom to a Dr.'s appointment. The trip to the appointment was fine, 30 minutes late, and Justin the driver was great! The problem was that we told Radio cab when to pick us up, they said "no problem" and they would be there. It's now 3 hours past that time. My mom is 85, disabled, and can't be in a wheelchair for more than 4 hours. I've spoken to their dispatch numerous times and they say "you don't have a reservation" we dispatch as we have cabs available. The. Why didn't you tell us that when I called 4 days ahead to make the "reservation"?? Needless to say I will NEVER use a radio cab again!! read more

Most recently, last week, I was in need of a ride to the airport on very short notice. My car was suddenly "dead.". Obviously, I called Radio Cab. The response to my situation was prompt. The driver was courtesy and helpful, he loaded my luggage into the cab. His driving was impeccable. After arriving at the airport, I realized that I had taken the noted conduct for granted. Indeed, over the several years that I have used Radio Cab I have always found them to be professional in every way. I will continue to use Radio Can when in need of transportation. I will urge my friends and colleagues to use Radio Cab. As for Uber and Lyft, I don't use unlicensed "Gypsy" cabs. read more

I finally tried sending the Dispatch Manager an email - no response. I guess they really don't either use their website and/or take reservations! Not very good service. Screw this cab company, even though my dogs shirt was a little wet and I had a towel to put on the floor board of the car for him to get on, the driver was a real rude little a- hole of a guy got back into his car and then proceeded to drive away and not pick us up , and take us to the vet, so I could have him put to sleep.... My dog couldn't walk or stand on his hind legs, or do much of anything really he has lost all strength on his back legs and my dog is 12yrd old, all I had to do was get him to his vet office to get the procedure done.... So Screw radio cab and the dock headed driver... I will never ever ever call them or book another ride with them ever again, they have lost my business with them for good this time, I won't even call or book a ride with them ever again even if I was dieing, for real.... read more
