Marcus promised a certain number of hours and failed to follow through--no warning, no update, no accountability. My team and I planned our schedules around the hours he committed to. Instead of communicating when he realized he didn't need us, he waited until the exact moment I showed up at the job site to tell me I was no longer needed. That level of disregard for someone else's time and planning is unacceptable. To make matters worse, his crew's work ethic was terrible. His employees did a half-assed job and left most of the real work to my team. On top of that, one of his workers was openly smoking what appeared to be PCP/K2 right on the job site--in full view of others, including the project manager. That is not only unprofessional, it's unsafe. Between the lack of communication, broken promises, wasted time, and completely inappropriate on-site behavior, I would never recommend subcontracting with this company or trusting them on a professional project. Save yourself the stress and find a company that actually respects people and runs a legitimate operation.

I had a poor experience with this cleaning service and would not use them again…read more I paid for a deep clean and still had to go back afterward to vacuum up multiple clumps of dog hair, dust surfaces, and wipe down parts of the sinks and faucet myself. My own vacuum immediately picked up debris that had been left behind in one pass. There were several areas that did not appear fully cleaned, which was especially disappointing considering there were two cleaners working for about three hours. I understand everyone and every home is different, but I've previously had a single cleaner complete significantly more thorough work in the same timeframe for less money, without me needing to re-clean parts of my apartment afterward. The communication afterward also left a bad impression. Instead of simply addressing the concerns professionally, I felt blamed for the condition of the apartment and uncomfortable with the tone of the payment-related messages. My girlfriend also was blocked from the company's business page during the exchange, which felt extremely unprofessional. While the owner did eventually offer to come back, the overall quality of the clean and the handling of the situation did not match the level of professionalism I expected for the price charged.

This is a business with no online presence other than Yelp and there was no way that I was going to give them thousands of dollars up front. It was a friendly correspondence and I stated that - despite their lack of online presence and experience outside of cleaning, I would still like to work something out with them. I reached out to the company to get another house cleaned, and was mortified by the customer service skills of Libby. I felt like an inconvenience to the company as I attempted to get quoted, and book a date. In the end Merry Maids was actually unable to do the cleaning. It should be noted, according to Libby, if anything isn't in the quote; be it a small hallway, staircase, landing, entryway, etc. It will be completely skipped over. The quote is by room, not square footage. Halls, stairs, vestibules, and landings, no matter how small, will be counted the same as say a kitchen, or bedroom. I booked instead with tidytroopers who were able to meet my needs in the time frame provided and did a spectacular job. The deep cleaning for the entire house was less than half the price of standard cleaning merrymaids offered. Save time, money, and sanity and book with someone else.

The cleaners are having difficulty with the mess from the cats and I have to take into consideration their health and safety as their employee." My husband and I were shocked. We have employed this service since April 2022 and have received no complaints about our two cats. In fact, the workers were never exposed to the litter boxes as they are in an area far away from where we ask them to clean. Do the cats shed? Is there cat hair? Of course...just as there would be dog hair if we had dogs. I was confused and the content of letter felt as if there was another reason for this abrupt end so I called Sarah Jane and left a message. I received no response. Whenever we had been due for our monthly cleaning, my husband and I straightened everything in the house so there would be few obstacles. In fact, there were some days I cleaned the area where the cat bowls were because sometimes the cats could be a little messy - just like dogs. During the winter, one cleaner got stuck in our driveway. Her attempts to get out resulted in deep gouges in our lawn. Sarah Jane offered to pay for the repairs in the spring but we let it go, as we didn't want to spoil our relationship with the company. Apparently, I should have charged for it as Sarah Jane had no compunction about severing our relationship with no warning. The cleaners did a pretty good job overall but we never got the same team twice so there was some inconsistency with the results. However, we always tipped them. Plus, there were workers who said they couldn't wait to be assigned to our house as it's so unusual and beautiful. I think we deserve a comprehensive response to my phone call. Sarah's silence speaks volumes as to her inability to be courteous to a long-time customer. I warn current and future customers to be wary of Sarah Jane's Cleaning as it appears Sarah will drop you for dubious reasons.
