I dropped my pool service and started servicing my pool myself over 8 years ago. During that time I…read moredealt with the standard issues Like yellow algae, etc., but recently my pool kept getting it. I always tested the water myself, but my wife said to take the water in to get properly tested and find out what's going on. I was apprehensive because I thought it was just a big scam to get you to come in and then load you up with hundreds of dollars worth of chemicals. Boy was I wrong. I brought my water in and met a young man named Cole who was the manager. He analyzed my water, gave me a printout and explained what was going on. He said that my cyanuric acid level was extremely high and the source of a lot of my problems, and that I would have to drain half of the water out of my pool and replace it with fresh water to cure the problem. Now I'm begging for hundreds of dollars in chemicals so I don't have to go through that, but there was no other option. I bit the bullet, followed his instructions, and my pool was back to normal. I never would have known had I not brought my water in for testing. I have now been taking my water in weekly and my pool has never looked better. Cole and Brittany take great care of me and when they recommend a chemical to buy and add I always listen. I only wish that I would have started going there years ago. I highly recommend them to anyone that has a pool and wants to keep it looking good, so hopefully you won't have to drain your pool like I had to.

I had a very disappointing experience at Leslie's Pool Supply. Last week, I spoke with a manager…read moreregarding a filter I purchased that caused my pool system to stop running. He told me I could return it for store credit. When I came back today, I stood at the front of the store for several minutes without anyone acknowledging me. After repeatedly calling out for assistance, Joey finally came out. I explained the situation, showed him my receipt, and provided the filter. He immediately accused me of bringing in an old filter and repeatedly insisted it wasn't theirs, despite the receipt proving otherwise. A manager named Mary came out and confirmed that the filter was in fact sold by Leslie's, but she and Joey continued insisting it looked "years old." Of course it looked dirty--I had installed it in a dirty pool, and the entire reason I was returning it was because it caused my system to stop working. I explained that I had no reason to try to deceive anyone over a $56 filter, but instead of handling the situation professionally, Mary began yelling at me and even pointed her finger in my face. At that point, I started recording because the interaction had become hostile. She then told me to leave the store, even though I had been the one treated disrespectfully throughout the encounter. Eventually, they issued the store credit that another manager had already approved, but because of the chaos I wasn't even able to complete the rest of my business, including having my pool water tested and purchasing chlorine. I expect better customer service and professionalism, especially from management. Questioning a return is one thing, but yelling at customers and treating them as though they are dishonest is completely unacceptable.

Welcome to a January through April 2026 story of "two-leak" leak detecting and leak stopping in my…read more40-year-old in-ground pool: Let's start with a make-sure note pertaining to ALD's warranty: Make sure to hire a pool repair company that Aaron's recommends when ALD detects a leak that requires repair that ALD is not set up to do. Read on for the story about two-leaks .... & ALD's warranty: During December 2025 and early January 2026, I noticed unusually rapid water level dropping in my pool; my pool-knowledgeable neighbor suggested that I ask ALD to detect the leaks. Over the phone ALD agreed with me that my pool's 0.39 inches per day rate of water level (averaged over a week during our cool & no-rain January) warranted a leak detection by their skilled colleagues. A few days later one of ALD's leak detection experts found a sizeable crack in sidewall of my pool and temporarily epoxy-patched it, cautioning me that this epoxy patch was only temporary and that I should seek a permanent repair by one of their approved contractors on a list that he gave me. During the next few days, the pool continued to leak at same rate as before this temporary patch, thus validating ALD's guidance to seek permanent repair from an ALD approved contractor. So, I did. Within a few days ALD's approved contractor Aquaworks permanently repaired the sidewall crack; during subsequent week the pool leaked at 85% of the leakage rate before this permanent repair, thus indicating that significant leaking persisted. So, ALD warranty time. After I informed ALD that significant leaking persisted and that I had retained an ALD-approved contractor to repair the crack that caused the first leak they detected, ALD promptly sent an expert to detect additional leaking. ALD's expert found that Aquaworks had properly sealed the wall crack, and he found a leak in the main drain at bottom of pool's deep end. After he carefully epoxy-plugged that main drain leak (scuba gear required!), my pool's rate of water level dropping during a warmer March week reduced to less than 0.2 inches per day, within a rate typically caused by evaporation. As of end of April, pool water level reduction rates remain at evaporation rates. Many thanks to ALD for their diligent and persistent efforts to find and fix two leaks that attacked my 40-year-old pool. Note to self (& other prospective ALD customers): Retain a pool repair company that ALD recommends when they find a leak that requires significant repair. Cooperate with ALD and they'll cooperate with you.

I scheduled service in April 2025, and despite multiple confirmations, no one showed up -- not once, but twice. When I followed up, they admitted they forgot to log the repair. Seriously? After weeks of delays and zero accountability, my pool turned completely green and unusable. I've spent over $300 out of pocket trying to keep it under control with chemicals -- all because they couldn't be bothered to do their job. Then, after I left a polite but honest review, their rep told me they would no longer help and that I should call the manufacturer myself, saying they had "other things to do." They blamed their technician, the equipment, and even me -- anyone but themselves. This company clearly doesn't stand behind their work or care about customers once the sale is done. Avoid at all costs.
