Our meal at Rada was absolutely excellent. First, we loved the atmosphere sitting out by the beach and listening to the waves. Next, it was a little chilly outside, so they lit the heaters which made it very comfortable. I started with a Rada Mule, which I really enjoyed. My husband and I shared a salad, and then I had the lemon pasta and he had the grilled seafood platter. We shared our food which went together beautifully. The lemon pasta had a lot of lemon flavor. Reminded me of lemon pie pasta! My husband absolutely loved the quality and the quantity of seafood on his platter. Stunning View, Forgettable Food, and Frustrating Service Rada's seaside location in Positano is undeniably beautiful -- but that's where the experience ends. The menu falls squarely into YARC territory ("Yet Another Roman Cuisine"). It's the same tired lineup of pastas and seafood dishes you'll see at nearly every other tourist-driven spot in the area. There's little creativity or effort to highlight regional Campanian flavors, which feels like a missed opportunity in such a unique setting. What really soured the experience, though, was the service. After being seated, we waited over 90 minutes for our main dishes, which never came. We asked politely a few times for updates, but received no meaningful response. Eventually, we requested to cancel our order -- and were met with hostility. The manager or head waiter came to our table and rudely yelled at the table, which was not only inappropriate in front of my child, but incredibly uncomfortable. We noticed several other tables also leaving after long waits without food. A couple of appetizers did eventually arrive, but they were forgettable -- bland, unimaginative, and certainly not worth the high price tag. The kind of food that leaves you wondering how it could be so dull in a place so visually vibrant. Rada feels like a textbook tourist trap: all presentation, no substance. With a few other genuinely warm, creative, and delicious places to eat in Positano, this one is a clear miss. read more

If you are anywhere near this place go there. The food was excellent and so was the wine. Our server was very knowledgeable about the wine and he didn't steer us wrong. We let him select a bottle and he brought a really good white and it wasn't super expensive. Great view as well. Highly recommend reservations. read more

Food was really not good, pasta I ordered was really al dente, my wife's sea bass had no flavor, there was an €8 euro service charge that sucked as service really wasn't that great. For a restaurant with 4 €€€€ signs food here should be exceptional. Ambiance was the only thing amazing but it is free is you buy a box of pizza and sat literally out on the beach you would get the same and possibly better take out food from somewhere else. Rada is a great restaurant right on the beach. We were able to walk in without a reservation around 9 pm and were seated in about 15 minutes. Prices were reasonable and the food was good and fresh. Only negative I would mention are the tables are very close together. There was a table of 2 next to us and we were so close that it felt like we were dining together. I brought 8 people here for a reservation. It took a very long time for the waiter to assist us and over an hour to get our food. The waiter added items to our bill that we never received. When I caught it he told me "this is Italy we don't refund here". He told me he could give me drinks, I told him I wanted a refund via credit or cash and he refused. I settled for the drinks and requested 2 take away drinks. He came back with a 9 EU bottle of wine instead. That didn't cover the expenses at all. I tried emailing the restaurant and they never responded. I found the staff to be very rude and disrespectful. When you make a reservation at an upscale restaurant you have an expectation that the service and atmosphere is going to be above par. I understand that maybe they don't like people from other countries or tourists but that should not apply when you are a paying customer. They need uphold their end of the bargain. The food was also horrible and tasted like it had gone bad. I wouldn't recommend this place to someone who is wanting to experience the city. It really ruined our evening. We were not expecting to be taken advantage of. After talking to local friends here we learned that it is very common for Rada to do this. read more

Rada is located on the beach on the top floor of what looks like an old castle. This was suggested to us by the owner of the nearby Chez Black so I am guessing they are affiliated. Since we had just eaten, we went for drinks only. The bar is located on the top level and what makes it really special is the ceiling is open allowing the moon and stars to shine in. And they have live music with a piano player which makes it just that much more special. The wine list is extensive, and they also have a specialty cocktail list with fun drinks like "In my mind" which was a favorite of my friends as well as "The Fly". Stop in for a drink or dinner. And then afterwards you can head downstairs to the club and dance the night away to a DJ. What makes it different from other clubs is that you are actually inside the rock so the ceiling and walls are all stone. Pretty cool too! read more

This restaurant was located inside the cave below our villa so it was just a few, (steep!), steps away and so worth it! Luxury divine! The view, the architecture, the food, the presentation and the service. We chose the 85 euro set menu with white wine. The food was divine!!! I've never given any restaurant anything lower than 4, and I really didn't want to even think of this due to the amazing time I've had in Positano so far,, but if it wasn't for the sweet girl who was an absolute delight bringing us here, I'd probably give it a one. Don't get me wrong, the position and views are incredible, which reflect intensively in the prices,, and if your the one who walks off your 20 million dollar yacht,,, this is the place for you. If you're like me,, who likes great service and great food,, try any other restaurant down the beach, or any that I've already reviewed. Service is extremely slow, apart from one waiter, also rude. I was halfway through my main before I head to ask again for my wine, food was over the top and to be honest, measly and tasteless. You're going to get not a lot for a lot of money. My lobster was the size of an average prawn, and cost 4 times that of a restaurant not 100 meters away that was a "lobster". Not to mention the sudden infestation of antflies that suddenly invaded our table and landed in our drinks,, just to have the waiter say, "it's ok,, they just go to the light" Take it from me, get your hands dirty and enjoy your food,, and go to any of the other 20 odd restaurants down the beach,,but if your "clinically inclined", and enjoy waiting 25 mins for your coffee even after asking 3 times,, and want to pay more than you have to,, come here. read more

Pretty cool restaurant/club/lounge on top of the cliff right next to the beach. Apparently the owners also own Chez Black and invited us over to the lounge here - they also call the club Music on the Rocks. The first floor is a club - ritzy lights and very modern. The 2nd floor is a sushi/seafood restaurant - very nice with windows overlooking the sea. The top floor is the rooftop lounge. Very ritzy with live pianist and lounge chairs. The roof is retractable and opens up to the lights of the cliff side of Positano. Very chill speak easy type atmosphere. We were lucky to see a firework show on the water the night we were there. They have good cocktails and servers to bring them but only 1-2 bartenders so it was a bit slow. You have to wait about 20-30 minutes for a drink and they were expensive at 18 euros a pop. Nice relaxing place with scenery and nice piano music. Wish it wasn't so expensive and service was a bit quicker. read more

Top-notch restaurant nestled in a cliff at the end of Positanos' main beach. What an experience! Living in NYC I have experienced some of the most fantastic food the US has to offer, dining is nothing I skimp on. Visiting the Amalfi Coast I wanted not only to experience amazing food but also an incredible view, Rada has both! The service was impeccable and the food matched, everything was extremely fresh and well prepared! We made reservations and celebrated my sisters birthday there, the staff made it very special for her, thank you! We each got the 4 course tasting menu which is around 90 euro per person, again this is a fine dining restaurant, portions are small yes but you will leave feeling extremely satisfied! We split a bottle of wine as well, their Pinot Noir was delish! Did I mention this place has a Michelin Star?! I am surprised when people complain about the portion size and leave reviews based on that because this is pretty standard around the globe for a fine dining restaurant. You must check out Bar Fly upstairs the ambiance just like Rada is incredible and they have a lovely pianist that sets a relaxed mood! Will be back next time I visit Positano! We had a very nice meal over looking the sea. Service was great and the food was too. I will say that they didn't have a lot on the menu, but what we ordered was great. My wife had the lemon risotto which was great and I had the spaghetti ala Positano which was a mix of clans and local shellfish. This was very good too. There were some appetizers and desserts that were compliments of the chef and they were all tasty. I would recommend Rada for a nice relaxing meal. read more

Not terribly impressed. Food was a bit slow. I ordered a risotto with oyster and lemon and Prosecco; scant amount of oysters and the chef may have unintentionally overdosed on the lemon. We booked a reservation but the seats with the views were taken; ask for a view when booking. Overall the view is great if you had the right seat but my palette wasn't satisfied. read more

How this restaurant is not Michelin rated is beyond me. We're from NY and dine at Per Se, Le Bernadin etc often...we love a tasting menu. Rada is exceptional, but from the reviews it seems it cannot be appreciated by transient tourists, and it's ashamed....From the moment we sat down, the food and service were impeccable..the ambiance incredible...then up to the Fly bar for another amazing drink from their mixologist...it was simply a great experience. We went to Don Alfonso and were very dissappointed by the hype...the worst service we've ever experienced...we compared it to a diner...Go to RADA, if you know food....you'll love this gem! read more

What a terrible experience at this restaurant! DO NOT GO! Pricey with an attitude. Every customer who has ever walked into every restaurant wants most to feel special. And Rada seemed to go out of their way to make us feel awful. How a restaurant can have such a high opinion of itself remains a mystery, since to enter you must walk through a trashy fake grotto/dance club. We did not have reservations but arrived early and were seated at a table right by the front door. There was lots of foot traffic by staff racing by, screaming at each other, and ignoring us. We were nowhere near the patio which has a spectacular view of Positano. As we ate our dinner, which by the way was a precious and self-satisfied meal, we couldn't help but notice all the tables with the view remained empty. Never did the hostess even consider moving us. Had she done that I would probably be writing a very different review. There are a lot of fantastic restaurants in Positano (like Da Vincenzo), all of which will most likely have better food, better service, and treat their customers like guests rather than people to be condescended to. If you're looking for a 5-star meal go to Le Sirenuse. Also pricey but their food and service and the entire experience there is exactly what you'd expect from a 5 star restaurant. read more

I thought to myself, "what if some poor unsuspecting traveler doesnt use trip advisor and they go on yelp and see all of these 5 star reviews and get an unbalanced story of what to expect?" you know what people, i cant sleep on that. not now, not ever. This place stinks. over priced, $196 euro's for a lousy dinner, 2 entree's, bad bottle of cheap wine, 2 apps, no desert, place totally empty on a thursday night. waiters snooty and rude. food took 1 hr 20 minutes. The view is amazing, however if you are staying at the Bucca De Baco hotel you can skip this restaurant. The main thing you are paying for is the view, again, the view is a perfect ten but the food was foo foo gourmet food that just wasn't good. For example, three of us ordered risotto with prawns and there was not a single prawn on the plate. It smelled like fish but there were no prawns. When we asked they said there were prawns cut up inside the risotto but we could not find any. Very disappointing as the prawns were probably there but none of us could find them. My brother had the pork cheek and "both bites" were fat with very little meat. The liquor pours were the smallest in 15 days of visiting Italy BUT the views were wonderful. It was a little bit difficult to find, but it's down on the end of the eastern edge of them Positano beach on the top of a little castle. If you want views of the bay and beach, go here, they are stunning. They go over the top to make the place romantic, so we were skeptical about the food. However, this place deserves all the praise. Pasta and seafood are solid, the Chateaubriand for 2 preparation and flavor were excellent. Highly recommended! read more
