Escaping the heat with amazing food
    Patricia L.

If it were a film, the scene would open here, midday sun kissing the sea, white tablecloths fluttering in the breeze, and a quiet kind of music made only by silverware, soft voices, and waves. We arrived at Rada on the Beach for lunch, but what unfolded felt like the beginning of a love story. The kind that starts with a glance and stays with you forever. The staff greeted us like we'd stepped off a steamship from another time, graceful, attentive, impossibly kind. There was a gentleness in the way they moved, in the way they saw us. It felt like the kind of place where lovers meet in black-and-white films, hearts racing just beneath the surface. The food was its own romance, seafood that tasted like it had been caught in the morning light, pasta made with devotion, each dish a love letter sealed with salt and sunshine. Every bite slowed time. And then came the dessert, sent by the chef, unannounced and heartfelt. A various selection of heaven on a plate, as if someone had laid out joy in edible form. We all smiled like we were falling in love with the view, with the kindness, with the very moment we were in. Then, like the final act of some old-world fairytale, I was invited behind the scenes, to the kitchen. I met the chefs, the soul of the story. Their hands still warm from the work, their eyes bright with pride. There was no spotlight, no performance, just heart. Pure, radiant heart. Grazie di cuore to the waiters, the kitchen staff, and the chef! You didn't just feed us. You gave us a scene from a movie we didn't want to end. So if you ever find yourself in Positano, make the reservation. Step into the story. Rada isn't just a restaurant or a back drop for a photo, it's the kind of place where you don't just remember the food... you remember the way it made you feel.

Our meal at Rada was absolutely excellent. First, we loved the atmosphere sitting out by the beach and listening to the waves. Next, it was a little chilly outside, so they lit the heaters which made it very comfortable. I started with a Rada Mule, which I really enjoyed. My husband and I shared a salad, and then I had the lemon pasta and he had the grilled seafood platter. We shared our food which went together beautifully. The lemon pasta had a lot of lemon flavor. Reminded me of lemon pie pasta! My husband absolutely loved the quality and the quantity of seafood on his platter. This was our first dinner in Positano, and we talked about it the entire week.

If you are anywhere near this place go there. The food was excellent and so was the wine. Our server was very knowledgeable about the wine and he didn't steer us wrong. We let him select a bottle and he brought a really good white and it wasn't super expensive. Great view as well. Highly recommend reservations.

Food was really not good, pasta I ordered was really al dente, my wife's sea bass had no flavor, there was an €8 euro service charge that sucked as service really wasn't that great. For a restaurant with 4 €€€€ signs food here should be exceptional. Ambiance was the only thing amazing but it is free is you buy a box of pizza and sat literally out on the beach you would get the same and possibly better take out food from somewhere else. I probably wouldn't eat here if this was the only place open. ‍

Rada is a great restaurant right on the beach. We were able to walk in without a reservation around 9 pm and were seated in about 15 minutes. Prices were reasonable and the food was good and fresh. Only negative I would mention are the tables are very close together. There was a table of 2 next to us and we were so close that it felt like we were dining together. It made conversation very difficult.

Food was good, service was decent as well. Nice place to enjoy a dinner on the beach. I think our favorite course was the dessert.

the spaghetti & meatballs & the seafood pasta.

the food was rather disappointing. we have been in positano for three days & had tried other places so we were excited to eat on the beach but it just wasn't good. our food was lacking on flavor almost completely. the service was great and the ambiance was beautiful but you're basically paying for that, not the food. the food tastes like someone reheated it & plated it.

    Beautiful views from here

Rada is located on the beach on the top floor of what looks like an old castle. This was suggested to us by the owner of the nearby Chez Black so I am guessing they are affiliated. Since we had just eaten, we went for drinks only. The bar is located on the top level and what makes it really special is the ceiling is open allowing the moon and stars to shine in. And they have live music with a piano player which makes it just that much more special. The wine list is extensive, and they also have a specialty cocktail list with fun drinks like "In my mind" which was a favorite of my friends as well as "The Fly". Stop in for a drink or dinner. And then afterwards you can head downstairs to the club and dance the night away to a DJ. What makes it different from other clubs is that you are actually inside the rock so the ceiling and walls are all stone. Pretty cool too!

This restaurant was located inside the cave below our villa so it was just a few, (steep!), steps away and so worth it! Luxury divine! The view, the architecture, the food, the presentation and the service. We chose the 85 euro set menu with white wine. The food was divine!!! Grilled octopus, spaghetti and clams, sea bass and lobster tail, tiramisu. All outstanding!!! If you want to feel good and eat well go to Rada!

I've never given any restaurant anything lower than 4, and I really didn't want to even think of this due to the amazing time I've had in Positano so far,, but if it wasn't for the sweet girl who was an absolute delight bringing us here, I'd probably give it a one. Don't get me wrong, the position and views are incredible, which reflect intensively in the prices,, and if your the one who walks off your 20 million dollar yacht,,, this is the place for you. If you're like me,, who likes great service and great food,, try any other restaurant down the beach, or any that I've already reviewed. Service is extremely slow, apart from one waiter, also rude. I was halfway through my main before I head to ask again for my wine, food was over the top and to be honest, measly and tasteless. You're going to get not a lot for a lot of money. My lobster was the size of an average prawn, and cost 4 times that of a restaurant not 100 meters away that was a "lobster". Not to mention the sudden infestation of antflies that suddenly invaded our table and landed in our drinks,, just to have the waiter say, "it's ok,, they just go to the light" Take it from me, get your hands dirty and enjoy your food,, and go to any of the other 20 odd restaurants down the beach,,but if your "clinically inclined", and enjoy waiting 25 mins for your coffee even after asking 3 times,, and want to pay more than you have to,, come here.

This restaurant was amazing. Probably the best service we received in Italy. The staff was very friendly and made the experience so nice. View was amazing. Wine selection was really good and the food was superb. Excellent quality for the price. My husband had a perfectly cooked filet and I had some delicious broccoli ravioli and a shrimp dish.

Pretty cool restaurant/club/lounge on top of the cliff right next to the beach. Apparently the owners also own Chez Black and invited us over to the lounge here - they also call the club Music on the Rocks. The first floor is a club - ritzy lights and very modern. The 2nd floor is a sushi/seafood restaurant - very nice with windows overlooking the sea. The top floor is the rooftop lounge. Very ritzy with live pianist and lounge chairs. The roof is retractable and opens up to the lights of the cliff side of Positano. Very chill speak easy type atmosphere. We were lucky to see a firework show on the water the night we were there. They have good cocktails and servers to bring them but only 1-2 bartenders so it was a bit slow. You have to wait about 20-30 minutes for a drink and they were expensive at 18 euros a pop. Nice relaxing place with scenery and nice piano music. Wish it wasn't so expensive and service was a bit quicker.

They are attentive at all the right touches without hovering, and the meal was a perfect place to enjoy the delicious food while sharing in each other's company. Standouts for our group were the tuna tartare with guacamole and beet & preserved vegetable amuse bouche items, the lobster course, and the risotto (although one of our diners prefers it slightly softer). One of the highlights is at the end of the meal, we were given the chance to come down to the kitchen and meet the chef and his team!

We enjoyed most of the dishes, but the majority of them had cured fish or vegetables. At a Michelin starred restaurant, I would have expected more fresh seafood and vegetables. A good number of them had more acidic profiles than we were used to. For example, they had a vinegar beet risotto, which was odd to me. It was topped with flavorful shrimp and fennel, but the sour risotto on the bottom was odd (1 star off). My favorite course was the pasta course (always the best course in Italy), and my second favorite was the dessert course. The bread service was amazing. Both the sourdough and focaccia were delicious. You could even select the olive oil to go with your bread. As someone picky about olive oil, I enjoyed reading through their olive oil "menu". The view of the water was nice, although you do see a little bit of the bus terminal and people frantically trying to get on what might be the last bus of the night. There is quite a bit of street noise from motorists honking and the occasional band playing from the town square. Other than that, the noise level lowers as the evening goes on, and the ambiance is lovely.

It was 7:30 and we asked our hotel concierge where we should go. It was a nice environment. There was one thing about the pizza, there was a little bit too much oil but the pizza was still great. The staff was really real nice but there a lot of ants on the railing near my chair. Also, there was a lemon tree that leaves kept falling down from.
