I was visiting family for the holidays and my husband and sister in law were trying to find cool…read morespots to grab food, drinks and listen to music. It was a Friday night, we arrived around 8pm and the restaurant was so busy and full of life. Music was blasting, ranging from reggaeton, to regional mexicana/banda, to pop. The prices for the food and drinks were all super cheap as well, so we knew we'd be ordering multiple items. Probably the best item we had was the arrachera quesadilla (can't remember the actual name in the menu for it). Our waiter was a young guy, constantly coming by asking if we wanted to add on to our order. We had multiple rounds of tequila shots and some mixed drinks, but definitely felt like the liquor was watered down. Before we took off, we even danced a couple of songs, giving us a club feel. Overall we loved it so much we had decided to come back the following Tuesday with more family. Well....we were left so disappointed. Everything was completely different. We arrived around 10, figured it being a Tuesday before Christmas Eve, it wouldn't be too busy. It seems that it was a lot busier than the restaurant had expected because they were definitely understaffed. Our waiter probably took 20 minutes to come to us to take our drink order and when he finally did, he stood in one end of the table struggling to hear us from the opposite end over the loud music. Don't understand why he couldn't simply walk over to our side. We waited another 10 minutes to actually get the drinks and for him to come around again to take our food order. Since service was so slow, we tried going straight to the bar and get drinks there, but they wouldn't take our orders because they had to be placed with our waiter. Food was pretty much the same, with the exception of the kitchen running out of multiple items by 11:30. I would have given this place 5 stars on the first visit alone: cheap food and drinks (great food quality for the value), absolutely great ambiance and fast/attentive service. But because we came back again and had such terrible and slow service, I'm giving them 3 stars.

So I decided to give it a try since it's only a couple miles down the way from my hotel. Easy drive up the hill to get there, place was super easy to find. You cannot miss their logo. Ample parking in the lot so you don't have to worry When you walk in, it's a cheery little sports bar. Now from the exterior. I would have thought that this was a chain restaurant, the signage was pro and the outside of the building led me to believe that this was definitely a chain like Chili's or other restaurants. Restaurants. Like it's definitely not, and I love that about the place! I was seated right away in a table so I could check out the whole restaurant. Plenty of seeding on either table tops or high tops, not to mention bar seating. Plenty of options on the menu, I opted for the cheeseburger with bacon, and I also added hatch chilies on it. Asked for the fries well done. To drink, I had an iced tea. The iced tea came out first and was definitely cold but I got to say it was a little weak. Not sure what that was about, but it was still definitely drinkable. The burger came out and let me tell you it was freaking huge! I mean the burger with all of the toppings almost overpowered the bun. I couldn't really pick it up because the bottom bun was sort of falling apart so I cut it in half ate half of the burger with my fork and the other half with my hands. I will say this the burger itself was perfectly seasoned. The bacon could have been a little crispier but it was still very delicious. It came with fries and a metal bowl and those were seasoned great as well. For dessert, I decided to have the margarita lime cake, because it sounded amazing and looked amazing when it came to the table. Table however, the cake itself was very dry. It almost had the consistency of a tres leches cake except this did not have the tres leches so the cake itself was a little disappointing but it came with whipped cream and did have a layer of filling so that definitely helped. Bottom line? This was a great place to grab a bite to eat for lunch. It's got good ambiance. It's God solid Service and just needs a few extra tweaks to make it a five-star! Go check this one out for sure!

We started with a vegan pozole, inspired by the way the dish evolved over centuries. It was hearty, flavorful, and came with a fascinating history lesson. The sopes made with nixtamalized corn were rich and satisfying, with a personal touch -- tied to memories of his father making arrachera on weekends. From Chinese influences on tortillas and soy-sauced chiles, to Lebanese-Jewish inspired hummus with chipotle, and even Moorish Spain's paella -- every plate highlighted how cultures have blended to shape Borderland flavors. I loved how passionate Chef Rulis is about connecting food, family, and history. The dishes were not only delicious, but each one told a story. I went for the first time this last weekend. I had a blast!!! I love the fact the games are only a quarter and pinballs only 75 cents. I have been to other arcade bars in other cities and they hike up the prices on games. The pinballs are awesome and in great shape. You can tell hard work went into this place. The arcade is top notch. The patio was really cool with the tire swings, giant connect 4 and Mario wall. The staff is very friendly and attentive. For as busy as it was, we got our drinks pretty quick. I recommend their "squishees" My girlfriend loved the Speedy Gonzalez. I think this bar is going to get better and better. The best word to describe it is FUN. Great games, great staff and great vibe to it. The DJ on Saturday night was really good. I definitely recommend this place and will be back. This place is absolute DOGSHIT. I am an ex marine with many tours under their belt and I have experienced rudeness and crudeness all throughout the world. But nothing tops the sheer amount of disrespect and ignoble indifference than that I have encountered at Rubiks Arcade Bar. Over the past several occasions I have gone to the bar it is a mess and the employees simply do not care. Fights break out and are left to resolve themselves, a table being flipped at one and my drink spilled all over me. Was I offered any kind of remediation? No, I was told to simply deal with it. This doesnt even cover all the disgusting filth covering the machines, disgusting. Do not go to Rubiks read more
