I have heard about this place for years and stopped by for an event for my kid's class. Let me say, it is well worth it for anyone who played arcade games as a kid. Even as an adult, they are just as good. Of course you have to spend a little more than a quarter to play a game but still worth it. From various classic games as Pacman to pinball machines, you'll find a lot of options here. Then there is also a few pool tables to test your skills. My new favorite place! Old school arcade with good food and drinks! It brought me back to 1982. We came here to celebrate and Rubiks did not disappoint. The staff were super friendly! They made us our favorite cocktails and the price was right. Food and drinks for 3 was $50 including tip. My kind of place. The games were mostly 2 tokens We played all kinds of games, Dig dug, Centipede, Pac-Man, Galaga, Frogger, and some shooter games like Time Crisis. They had a whole row of pinball! Very cool when you go inside. Plenty of games and a full bar. My favorite area about this place is the mad hatter which is Alice in wonderland themed. Atmosphere was epic and the music was jamming. I just left that place due to poor service. We got our first order of drinks right away and got our order taken. After that we didn't see Ivan for a good hour as he was chit chatting with one of the female bartenders who is also bad at her craft. Our order was given to us by the kitchen themselves as Ivan was still talking. I did say excuse me fairly loud to try and get his attention. The music wasn't loud but he kept on chatting away. Once the female bartender left then he started paying attention to the patrons at the bar. I immediately asked to close my tab since I had his attention. I do like the place. This place is a 80's-90's haven for anyone looking for safe and fun entertainment for the day or evening. I loved the decor with all of the old movie posters and the classic radio hits from back in the day being played overhead. A friend introduced me to this place and our group spent a couple of hours playing team pac-man and old video games after a long day of work. There are TVs galore in here in case you want to watch 10 games at one time and plenty of libations to choose from if you desire. I was impressed by the sheer number of old-school pinball and original racing games from the 80s they have maintained. They even have new pinball machines with Game of Thrones and Star Wars themes and flashing LED lights. This place provides a nice clean space for your nostalgia to run wild. Terrible service. Sat at the bar for 15 minutes. No acknowledgement dron the bartenders. Not that they were serving anybody. Eye contact made and still ignored . Moderately crowded. I wasn't overly impressed. We have one of these in my hometown and I feel about this one like I do the other one. There's A LOT of pinball machines. A decent amount of the games also don't really work, so you'll have to bug the bartenders for your money back. We played darts and there was a huge debacle with getting my hubby's ID back. Apparently, it was misplaced - But to top it off the bartender tried to hand him someone else's ID. Like seriously? Better check what they hand back to you, it might not be your ID. Went here for the first time and had rude experience just to get in. Haven't gone here in a while until the other day I tried it again and again trouble, the huge man took long looking at my ID bending it and scratching it then asked for my full name and Address which I provided and he said it was wrong!! Then gave it to the other guy looked like a manager or something and did the same until he let me in and gave my ID which was correct on everything. The DJ on Wednesday stinks. I came with my friends on Wednesday for karaoke night and got skipped multiple times. I waited two hours and still have not been chosen to sing. Upon entering you are thrown back to the good ol' days. This is a mix of 80s and 90s inspired arcade bar. Between the black lights, neon sign, colorful slinkies hanging from the ceilings and artwork it's a fun little place. Theres a bar in the center with pinball machines and arcade games all along the walls. They have all the classic games i.e. Tetris, Donkey Kong, Galaga, Frogger, even Dig Dug. Ok ok I'm geeking out and showing my age. Let me reel it back in. Lol. Dont come here expecting any new age games. This is strictly retro and I for one like that they kept it like that. The music playing was of the same eras and I couldn't help swing my hips while enjoying feeling like a teen again. They even have fun arcade inspired drinks. I tried the Hard candy cocktail which tasted like watermelon Jolly Rancher, very yummy. The beer selection is not as vast as I would've liked but still decent. The prices are affordable which was nice. Bring your cash so you can get quarters. Most games are .25 each. They do have a machine that dispenses quarters for you too. I think we spent about $40 on 4 beers and a cocktail and that included the $20 in quarters. The reason for the 3 stars is because of limited seating. It wouldve been cool if they added lounge seating. Some comfy couches would've been appreciated. Other than the bar stools theres no seating. I would've like to sit and enjoy the music and drinks. Theres also no finger foods. I had seen in photos on yelp food pics but they must've gotten rid of that because there was none. Finger foods or bar food would've been my suggestion. But that only gave us reason to go look for food elsewhere. All in all, I really enjoyed the experience of being catapulted to some of my best years. My husband and I really enjoyed it. Instead of the same old drinks and hanging out, the arcade really made my drinking experience 10x better. There are old arcade styled games, tire swings, and a giant connect four game that you can play with. There is also a decently sized patio in case you get tired of just being inside. Only reason I give this place a 4 star is because they had a few games that didn't work they didn't have no signs on. They did give me the money back. The wings were super good. What can you say about this place? It's definitely one of kind in El Paso. Yes, I am aware of another "similar" barcade out on the east side. But for those that actually know games and pinball machines this place is legit. I've been to some of the best arcades in the nation including Galloping Ghost and Underground Retrocade in the Chicago burbs. The quality of games and pinball machines is right up there with them. Actually, this place has a respectable line up than most other places yet alone in El Paso. There is no other place in El Paso that even comes close to their selection. But don't take my word for it check it out for yourself. I've been there many times. Oh yeah and did I mention almost all games are a quarter? Who doesn't have a few quarters lying around? Anyway, go check out Rubiks Arcade. You won't be disappointed. They have great drinks, fun atmosphere and a true legit arcade with pinball machines. What more could you ask for? Fun. Y'all gotta try this place. They have games like Track and Field, my girlfriend whooped me btw. They have other retro games like Mortal Combat, Street Fighter, Punch Out, a bunch of pinball machines too. And all the games are .25¢! Then...they have a Squishee machine where they basically make adult squishees, so good. Now I know why the Kwiki-mart was such a popular place in Springfield. I didn't get the barteneders name but he and the rest of the staff were on point. Even when you're playing The Walking Dead pinball or something, the staff still checks if you need anything. The music was an 80's and 90's mix and videos playing. I have to admit, it was cool watching Sublime's Santeria video. Memories of when MTV was about music and not pregnant 16yr olds. I had the buffalo chicken sandwich with a mountain of fries. Friends had the wings. Big wings and again a mountain of fries. They loved this place too. When I was a kid, growing up in a small community on the Oregon coast, video games were all the rage. The home systems like Atari and Sega were just coming out with their first platform games, hot on the heels of 'pong'. There were some serious full-size stand games being churned out from Japan, and the video arcade was born. My hometown arcade was called Earthport and I could only get there if my mom was going to the mall...I could tag along, she would give me a dollar and I could try my luck on DigDug or Donkey Kong. Spending an hour or two playing and watching others play video games were good times, indeed. Sadly, the death of the arcade came with the development of the modern home gaming console and more Internet gaming. Fewer and fewer arcades were able to survive without their legions of loyal gamers. Today, there are only a few examples of video arcades that I can tell you about: the Pinball Hall of Fame in Las Vegas NV, Pinballz in Austin, and Rubiks in El Paso. Rubiks is open 3p-2a daily, has a full bar and good music. It also has the largest assortment of pinball and full-size arcade games in the southwest. In fact, there is a big 'challenge board' that displays a bunch of 'to beat' scores for various pinball games along with their cash bounty...so, you beat the score, you get the cash! This is a GREAT place to kill a few hours, challenge your friends to a game of Tron, Donkey Kong or Galaga...and there are many other examples of great 80's/90's games for you to sink your teeth into and remember what it feels like to lose a pocketful of quarters and have nothing to show for it but carpal tunnel syndrome and a couple of new high scores...and walk out with an ear to ear grin, feeling like you invested a couple of hours to blow off some steam, already planning your next return to this adult playground. The atmosphere was super retro and and fun they had places to take pics like a giant Barbie box that you can stand inside. And a giant mural of Bravia and butthead on the wall they offer some funky frozen drinks inside or you can go next door to the bar and get a craft beer or mixed drink and Ferris buellers dive bar. So I went to this arcade bar and thought it was really cool never knew Arcades had bars now which is sweet. I thought the music could have been better because they were playing alot of oldies (Michael Jackson, Prince, Green Day, ect.). Later on that night I would say around 10pm the DJ came out and took over and the whole Arcade and Bar experience was alot better. Rubik's is a pretty cool arcade bar. The atmosphere is fun. The place is packed with new and vintage arcade games as well as tons of pin ball machines. They always have interesting decorations for holidays and go all out for Halloween decorations. I typically go in on Wednesday nights for karaoke night. I've been here a few times on the weekend when it's much more crowded. The service is always quick. The bartenders have always been very friendly. Definitely a fun place to go back in time. The arcade machines really make it a different bar experience. They really have some gems for beer on tap that i liked. Personally my friends and I enjoyed the huge connect four game in the outside patio. We took pictures in the barbie box (of course) and not only to play but it was fun seeing all the old school games. It was kinda like being in a museum where they serve beer. The only thing i was concerned about was the amount of people they let in at one time. It was difficult to walk around the bar much less get to the bar.
