Rubik's Arcade had a pinball tournament this past weekend and it was my 1st time there. Some things I didn't know about them: they're super kid friendly for a bar they throw birthday parties there it's semi attached to the Mad Hatter they have a cute play area outside lots of super cute photo ops EVERYWHERE Go check them out and support local! My new favorite place! Old school arcade with good food and drinks! It brought me back to 1982. We came here to celebrate and Rubiks did not disappoint. The staff were super friendly! They made us our favorite cocktails and the price was right. Food and drinks for 3 was $50 including tip. My kind of place. The games were mostly 2 tokens We played all kinds of games, Dig dug, Centipede, Pac-Man, Galaga, Frogger, and some shooter games like Time Crisis. They had a whole row of pinball! And they definitely took the advice of a previous Yrlper as there were plenty places to sit!!

This place is a 80's-90's haven for anyone looking for safe and fun entertainment for the day or evening. I loved the decor with all of the old movie posters and the classic radio hits from back in the day being played overhead. A friend introduced me to this place and our group spent a couple of hours playing team pac-man and old video games after a long day of work. There are TVs galore in here in case you want to watch 10 games at one time and plenty of libations to choose from if you desire. I was impressed by the sheer number of old-school pinball and original racing games from the 80s they have maintained. They even have new pinball machines with Game of Thrones and Star Wars themes and flashing LED lights. This place provides a nice clean space for your nostalgia to run wild. I only wish there were more of these in other cities!

If you want to feel like a kid again, then this is the place! I didn't think I would get so excited about exploring this place. There are so many little details that really made this bar unique. Instead of the same old drinks and hanging out, the arcade really made my drinking experience 10x better. There are old arcade styled games, tire swings, and a giant connect four game that you can play with. There is also a decently sized patio in case you get tired of just being inside. This is a great bar to go to if you want something different then the typical bar.

Can I come in with stroller?

You should be able to. They are very family friendly. I have been there for my daughter who was invited for a birthday party.

It was a Friday night, we arrived around 8pm and the restaurant was so busy and full of life. Music was blasting, ranging from reggaeton, to regional mexicana/banda, to pop. The prices for the food and drinks were all super cheap as well, so we knew we'd be ordering multiple items. Probably the best item we had was the arrachera quesadilla (can't remember the actual name in the menu for it). Our waiter was a young guy, constantly coming by asking if we wanted to add on to our order. We had multiple rounds of tequila shots and some mixed drinks, but definitely felt like the liquor was watered down. Before we took off, we even danced a couple of songs, giving us a club feel. Overall we loved it so much we had decided to come back the following Tuesday with more family. Well....we were left so disappointed. Everything was completely different. We arrived around 10, figured it being a Tuesday before Christmas Eve, it wouldn't be too busy. It seems that it was a lot busier than the restaurant had expected because they were definitely understaffed. Our waiter probably took 20 minutes to come to us to take our drink order and when he finally did, he stood in one end of the table struggling to hear us from the opposite end over the loud music. Don't understand why he couldn't simply walk over to our side. We waited another 10 minutes to actually get the drinks and for him to come around again to take our food order. Since service was so slow, we tried going straight to the bar and get drinks there, but they wouldn't take our orders because they had to be placed with our waiter. Food was pretty much the same, with the exception of the kitchen running out of multiple items by 11:30. I would have given this place 5 stars on the first visit alone: cheap food and drinks (great food quality for the value), absolutely great ambiance and fast/attentive service. But because we came back again and had such terrible and slow service, I'm giving them 3 stars.

The Owl boasts an unusual menu, with lots of fabulous Mexican food offerings such as Calabacitas and Hatch green chili potato chowder. The dishes are traditional or fusion-inspired Mexican cuisine (like the Sun City salmon on cilantro-lime rice and topped with Pico de Gallo). The Albondigas soup was SO tasty, and the Calabacitas were AMAZING! Our friends had chicken-fried steak over mashed potatoes (which was served as a generous portion and had yummy breading) and the Southwest Chicken Caesar Salad (which was IMMENSE). Cooper was our server and was fabulous! They were very friendly and efficient; there was a little wait for our food to arrive (maybe there were less kitchen staff due to the holiday), but our orders were taken quickly and Cooper checked back frequently to ensure we were enjoying our meals. They guided those of us new to the restaurant through the menu and was patient with all my questions (especially regarding the Calabacitas). The restaurant is in an open, roomy space with plenty of seating, yet it felt intimate enough for private conversations. We'll definitely be back to The Angry Owl on our next visit to El Paso!

I ordered the calamari and the skirt steak. The calamari was very crispy, and came out super fast (like, within minutes). Plate wise, it looks massive, but I could have definitely finished it off by myself. The skirt steak was a different story. It took forever to come out. I was texting a friend from when I ordered to when I received it, and it took 30 minutes. I don't totally understand how since the restaurant barely had any tables... but it was good? In that time though, I didn't know where my server was, and no one has checked in on me so I didn't even know how to ask about my food. Under normal conditions, I think I would be happy with this meal, and would order it again. Would I come back? I think so. The salmon sounded very yummy. I don't think I'd order the calamari again though.
