Rubik's Arcade had a pinball tournament this past weekend and it was my 1st time there. Some things I didn't know about them: they're super kid friendly for a bar they throw birthday parties there it's semi attached to the Mad Hatter they have a cute play area outside lots of super cute photo ops EVERYWHERE Go check them out and support local! My new favorite place! Old school arcade with good food and drinks! It brought me back to 1982. We came here to celebrate and Rubiks did not disappoint. The staff were super friendly! They made us our favorite cocktails and the price was right. Food and drinks for 3 was $50 including tip. My kind of place. The games were mostly 2 tokens We played all kinds of games, Dig dug, Centipede, Pac-Man, Galaga, Frogger, and some shooter games like Time Crisis. They had a whole row of pinball! And they definitely took the advice of a previous Yrlper as there were plenty places to sit!!

This place is a 80's-90's haven for anyone looking for safe and fun entertainment for the day or evening. I loved the decor with all of the old movie posters and the classic radio hits from back in the day being played overhead. A friend introduced me to this place and our group spent a couple of hours playing team pac-man and old video games after a long day of work. There are TVs galore in here in case you want to watch 10 games at one time and plenty of libations to choose from if you desire. I was impressed by the sheer number of old-school pinball and original racing games from the 80s they have maintained. They even have new pinball machines with Game of Thrones and Star Wars themes and flashing LED lights. This place provides a nice clean space for your nostalgia to run wild. I only wish there were more of these in other cities!

If you want to feel like a kid again, then this is the place! I didn't think I would get so excited about exploring this place. There are so many little details that really made this bar unique. Instead of the same old drinks and hanging out, the arcade really made my drinking experience 10x better. There are old arcade styled games, tire swings, and a giant connect four game that you can play with. There is also a decently sized patio in case you get tired of just being inside. This is a great bar to go to if you want something different then the typical bar.

What can you say about this place? It's definitely one of kind in El Paso. Yes, I am aware of another "similar" barcade out on the east side. But for those that actually know games and pinball machines this place is legit. I've been to some of the best arcades in the nation including Galloping Ghost and Underground Retrocade in the Chicago burbs. The quality of games and pinball machines is right up there with them. Actually, this place has a respectable line up than most other places yet alone in El Paso. There is no other place in El Paso that even comes close to their selection. But don't take my word for it check it out for yourself. I've been there many times. Oh yeah and did I mention almost all games are a quarter? Who doesn't have a few quarters lying around? Anyway, go check out Rubiks Arcade. You won't be disappointed. They have great drinks, fun atmosphere and a true legit arcade with pinball machines. What more could you ask for? Plus their selection keeps growing each month. I can't wait to go back there and play Donkey Kong, Tron and Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. Cowabunga dude!!!

    Cool retro games!

It was a Friday night, we arrived around 8pm and the restaurant was so busy and full of life. Music was blasting, ranging from reggaeton, to regional mexicana/banda, to pop. The prices for the food and drinks were all super cheap as well, so we knew we'd be ordering multiple items. Probably the best item we had was the arrachera quesadilla (can't remember the actual name in the menu for it). Our waiter was a young guy, constantly coming by asking if we wanted to add on to our order. We had multiple rounds of tequila shots and some mixed drinks, but definitely felt like the liquor was watered down. Before we took off, we even danced a couple of songs, giving us a club feel. Overall we loved it so much we had decided to come back the following Tuesday with more family. Well....we were left so disappointed. Everything was completely different. We arrived around 10, figured it being a Tuesday before Christmas Eve, it wouldn't be too busy. It seems that it was a lot busier than the restaurant had expected because they were definitely understaffed. Our waiter probably took 20 minutes to come to us to take our drink order and when he finally did, he stood in one end of the table struggling to hear us from the opposite end over the loud music. Don't understand why he couldn't simply walk over to our side. We waited another 10 minutes to actually get the drinks and for him to come around again to take our food order. Since service was so slow, we tried going straight to the bar and get drinks there, but they wouldn't take our orders because they had to be placed with our waiter. Food was pretty much the same, with the exception of the kitchen running out of multiple items by 11:30. I would have given this place 5 stars on the first visit alone: cheap food and drinks (great food quality for the value), absolutely great ambiance and fast/attentive service. But because we came back again and had such terrible and slow service, I'm giving them 3 stars.

So I decided to give it a try since it's only a couple miles down the way from my hotel. Easy drive up the hill to get there, place was super easy to find. You cannot miss their logo. Ample parking in the lot so you don't have to worry When you walk in, it's a cheery little sports bar. Now from the exterior. I would have thought that this was a chain restaurant, the signage was pro and the outside of the building led me to believe that this was definitely a chain like Chili's or other restaurants. Restaurants. Like it's definitely not, and I love that about the place! I was seated right away in a table so I could check out the whole restaurant. Plenty of seeding on either table tops or high tops, not to mention bar seating. Plenty of options on the menu, I opted for the cheeseburger with bacon, and I also added hatch chilies on it. Asked for the fries well done. To drink, I had an iced tea. The iced tea came out first and was definitely cold but I got to say it was a little weak. Not sure what that was about, but it was still definitely drinkable. The burger came out and let me tell you it was freaking huge! I mean the burger with all of the toppings almost overpowered the bun. I couldn't really pick it up because the bottom bun was sort of falling apart so I cut it in half ate half of the burger with my fork and the other half with my hands. I will say this the burger itself was perfectly seasoned. The bacon could have been a little crispier but it was still very delicious. It came with fries and a metal bowl and those were seasoned great as well. For dessert, I decided to have the margarita lime cake, because it sounded amazing and looked amazing when it came to the table. Table however, the cake itself was very dry. It almost had the consistency of a tres leches cake except this did not have the tres leches so the cake itself was a little disappointing but it came with whipped cream and did have a layer of filling so that definitely helped. Bottom line? This was a great place to grab a bite to eat for lunch. It's got good ambiance. It's God solid Service and just needs a few extra tweaks to make it a five-star! Go check this one out for sure!

We started with a vegan pozole, inspired by the way the dish evolved over centuries. It was hearty, flavorful, and came with a fascinating history lesson. The sopes made with nixtamalized corn were rich and satisfying, with a personal touch -- tied to memories of his father making arrachera on weekends. From Chinese influences on tortillas and soy-sauced chiles, to Lebanese-Jewish inspired hummus with chipotle, and even Moorish Spain's paella -- every plate highlighted how cultures have blended to shape Borderland flavors. Then after we all got our food we gave her time to bring the burger out and I think she never placed the order. Then when it did come out it was not what was specified. The manager was just as awful which is a true reflection of why the staff was rude and had poor customer service. She didn't want to refund the hamburger order because my nephew had taken a bite and realized it had mustard instead of mayo. It was the second time the order was incorrect. Then when they tried to rectify they lathered the burger in Mayo. We decided to leave because this was after talking to the manager. Stay away from the place, the food was mediocre and overpriced and the service was the worst. If I could give it zero stars I would. Take your money elsewhere.
