Yesterday went to RaceTrac and bought six Krispy Kremes donuts for her. Put them in a box for her. After 35 office visits I thought I would surprise her. The one day I showed up she was absent. Race trac become known and grew based on several things that are now becoming a source of decline. Hot dogs with fresh condiments and steamed buns. So the dogs now often are sad and not fresh. The steamed buns are no longer. They have steamer trays but they are being used to hold still wrapped buns and containers. No water. Just a fancy looking cold drawer. Often the buns are not well stocked and I'm less impressed by freshness. Today I bought 2 dogs but of the two drawers, there was 1 bun. There had been no run on the bun. Just not paying attention to stock. The fresh condiments like pico de gallo or onions or sauerkraut or jalapeños are gone. They no longer exist. The competition which looks very similar to RaceTrac does have all of these things, and still seems to be keeping them fresh. Including steamed buns. Quality of the fuel has been not great. One of my vehicles runs rough every time I fill up at racetrack. This was not always the case. I do not have this problem when I use gas from other places to have higher grade packages. I always use the same octane of fuel, but apparently they must be using a lot of , either ethanol or a package that does not go well with my Ford eco-boost. People are still pleasant enough, but the bathroom is now also a disaster. I cannot remember it being actually clean. It's been a long time. So, I can get a good deal on a coffee or maybe a doughnut but outside of that, I'm not really certain what compels me to go here . read more

Today I experienced the cruelest and rudest employee/cashier at RaceTrac. I entered the building and headed towards the soft drink counter, my usual, where I encountered a lady trying to fill her cup but shaking so profusely she couldn't. I started to ask her if I could help and I was abruptly stopped/interrupted by an employee shouting at her, telling her to leave. I intervened and suggested she just needed help and the employee said no she's a beggar. I asked her if she was thirsty and she nodded in shame. I told him I would take care of her purchase and he shrugged and walked away. I asked if she was hungry and she nodded so I got her a couple slices of pizza. We both went to the front to checkout and the cashier asked me if I was buying the ladies drink and pizza and I said yes. She then began to scold me and said she wouldn't allow it. This lady was a vagrant and she threatened to call the police. The line was growing longer but I stood insisting I was buying the pizza and sodas. The cashier reluctantly rang me up, actually double charged me for the ?pizza? and rolled her eyes. I told her she would treat a stray animal better. What have we come to here in America? I was here Sunday night and it was the same sign and same employee car in the same place. I thought maybe they were raking a break because Sunday I was here around 2am but come on. This place was nasty dirty. Maybe it is the Quick Trip that has opened up down the street that has made them throw their hands in the air, maybe they just don't care, maybe bad management, or lack of funding for updates, but it is a neighborhood eyesore that either needs to get back in the game or throw in the towel. read more

** Review is just for their Air serving station. Nothing about the rest of the store, their gas, and what not since I don't use those other services here ** I've visited this location for past several years now specifically to air up my tires when it's gotten low. I prefer Race Trac in general because their tubing is flexible and has much more slack than traditional ones. I don't need to stretch and use my feet to hold the tube down while I air up the far side of my tires! Recently, they "upgraded" their Air serving station with some newer technology where it supposedly lets you input what psi you need and it'll air your tire up to that number. This year already, I've been here twice. Once earlier in the year and once earlier this afternoon. And both times I was screwed out of the $1.50. Here's why I'm giving this rating. First. I neither need nor care about this "upgraded" technology. Never mind the fact that it doesn't work which I'll make in my next point but also I will check my tire pressure with my gauge always so what's the point. Secondly, the technology doesn't work. If I set it to go to 36 psi, it deflated my tires down to 32 psi. I stopped to check it once in between thinking maybe okay it brings it down first then brings it up? Ridiculous I know but I couldn't rule anything out. I then continue and sure enough it keeps lowering it to around 29 psi. The technology does not work and you should abandon it immediately or go back to the tried-and-true older method. So I'm down some monies and I leave with my tires even more deflated than it already was. Thankfully I didn't pull up in a flat tire situation but imagine if I did... no really, put yourself in that mindset and now you can get a taste of the incompetency of this air station. read more

This is probably my favorite RaceTrac location. One of the managers (can't remember her name) is super friendly and seems genuinely interested in your answer when she asks how you're doing...she even smiles! A rarity now days for sure! The roller grill items are yummy. If you don't eat bread, be sure to get the hot dogs/sausage links in a paper sleeve instead. Tons of drinks (water, sodas, beer) and lots of snack items (chips, nuts, candy bars, breakfast bars) to choose from. The bathrooms are usually very clean and well stocked. Donuts are brought in fresh daily but they're not that good...I'd rather go down the street to an actual donut shop. The options for "lunch" are both visually appealing as well as tasty. Sub sandwiches, fruit cups, yogurt, veggies trays, etc. Their gas prices are usually on the lower end of the price point spectrum which is a nice surprise for being located in Plano. Went inside to get a carton of cigarettes and they never charge the same price. This time it was $1.09 more so, if that's the prices for this much of a change then the other items are probably the same way. I will not be back there again for gas or anything! read more

I absolutely love this race track. Very clean store.I usually come in in the middle of the night when I'm up late working and need some caffeine or chocolate. The employees are so very nice. You could not ask for nicer people. I have asked them for advice on everything from getting along with in-laws to career advice and they're always willing to talk to me about anything that is on my mind. Extremely friendly. read more
