Unfortunately, the whole situation left me unsatisfied as a customer. Between the high prices, small portions, and the lack of genuine customer service, I don't feel like the value is there. But it seems to be going downhill. We get frozen custard on more than half of our visits. It's a treat we really like. Today we got custard and over half of every serving was runny liquid, and the part that was frozen melted pretty quickly. This has happened on our previous TWO visits as well. We normally eat in the restaurant, so this isn't an issue with melting on the way home. This is exactly how they hand it to you. They're frequently out of ketchup in the bug pump dispenser. So you end up with ketchup packets. But a couple of times, they have nearly run out of those, too. On one recent occasion, I asked for ketchup for myself and my family of five. The guy knew how big our order was, as there was almost nobody else in the place. He gave me three as said that was all I could have- they were saving them for drive through customers. Uh, WHAT? Today I also ordered some cheese curds. When I got home (only a mile away), I opened the bag to find barely half an order. They come in a paper bowl, and it was BARELY half full. I've ordered these many times before- I know what the portion is supposed to be, and this was half of normal. On our last visit, my burger was served with the patties over halfway out of the bun... that might sound silly or persnickety, but it was a total mess. The employees used to be, on balance, energetic, courteous, and attentive. They almost always greeted you with a bright smile, and at the very least they at least greeted you. Lately many of them won't even look at you when taking your order. They mumble and seem slightly confused. Sometimes there's no one at the counter to take your order for several minutes, but a bunch are in the kitchen/ drive through area yakking away. They just don't seem to care at all about the customers and they don't take enough pride in what they serve to care that the custard is melted, there's no ketchup, the fries are cold. They don't care if they give you half and order or put the food together right. To be fair, some of the staff is still nice. Once in a while when it's really slow one might walk your food together your table rather that just call out your number. Once in a while if it's slow they'll come out and take your tray or your trash. But it's gotten to be pretty uncommon. We love this place... I'm not sure what changed, but we won't be coming for or ordering custard there anymore. We'll find a new place for desserts. And we've already stopped going as frequently as we used to. It's lost its luster as a fun, special place for us.
