Update time 2025. Rabbit Rescue Inc is permanently closed. Their bunnos went to foster homes, or with the volunteers they had to the new Sunshine Rabbit Center in Long Beach. Since my last review, Luke Skyhopper crossed the rainbow bridge (it felt like I lost a part of my heart losing that kiddo, but 13?ish years was a good life bubs). I think he was one of the last Petco featured buns RRI had, and my goodness am I glad I found him. After his passing my home felt quiet, and the same week I of course went to "just look" and ended up taking home two new bunnos now named Mulder and Scully. Their names were originally Tobias and Locke? *She was part of a litter in the rescue so if you have a bunno from here that's approximately 4/5 I may have their sibling! They were dumped or so I was told, by a family that loved them dearly (Scully was carried around by a little girl). Mulder (the lop) was from a breeder and bonded to Scully in the previous owner's home. They were supposed to have their belongings dropped off at the rescue, they did not. Thankfully I have a fully set free-roam bunno home so they settled in easily. Scully was petrified of dogs or even hearing them. Mulder was urine scalded. It's been a few years and they're thriving now. I've uploaded photos in case they were yours and you'd love to see an update on them. They're gonna live their best lives with me forever. I promise. Everything said above. I boarded the kids here and took a shot. They were okay and didn't have any issues besides it being insanely hot. *This was also summer of last year though. When the fires broke out in January, I immediately thought of air quality knowing their location and what they were working with. I confirmed and sent two air purifiers because I understand not just human health, but also bunny health and my goodness they are sensitive little loves. When I called to be sure they got there/were received, I was made to feel like the two HEPA air purifiers were not good enough because they were "so tiny." When I run a single one in my home just fine. =/ I don't have the world, but I'll give what I can, especially to those who I care about the best I can first. This was also in the midst of me volunteering daily to collect for victims and first responders. But I bit my tongue. This rescue has had its issues of bunnies being abandoned out front and being eaten by the roofing company's dogs. It wasn't fair to the buns and they deserved a chance but my goodness that could have been prevented. I notice the difference between their social media stirring right now so here's some more perspective. I have immense gratitude for those who have lovingly cared for the buns I've adopted, and those who came into this rescue. The 3* is for you. read more

LOVELY!! Had the most amazing experience at Rabbit Rescue today and I fell in love the minute I walked in! Thank you Melissa for being so welcoming and helpful!! Instantly I was greeted by the smell of fresh cut hay and all I saw was lil baby bunners everywhere! Another room had lots of treats and supplies and cute bunny stuff. Went in for a nail trim on my 2 boys and I learned SO much from Audrey!! Not only was she gentle and kind handling my babies, she was just a wealth of knowledge. So thankful we found Rabbit Rescue. As first time bunny owners, we were looking for a place to have our bunny Mochi's nails clipped, but ended up with so much more. Grooming info, spay recommendations, dietary advice, etc. Susie and her staff were sooooo nice. She is literally the exact person you would picture when you think of a rabbit rescue. We ended up taking Mochi back to get groomed and the lady who groomed her was just as nice and helpful. She recommended bedding and gave us some more tips on keeping her healthy. They also have bunnies for adoption and will pair yours with another one if you are looking to find a friend. They sell hay, toys, bedding, and everything else you can think of to give your rabbit a happy home. PS. Please don't forget to donate a little something when you're there. This is a fantastic rescue doing quality work! I had heard horror stories about bonding bunnies but Rabbit Rescue took the stress out of the process for me. Susie and the team were able to successfully pair and bond my rabbit to one of their existing residents. After 6 days at the rescue, I was able to bring my pair home and their bonding has been absolutely seamless and barely any work on my end. I was shocked that for under $300 I not only received a fully vaccinated and neutered rabbit, but an entire week of bonding and boarding services. I cannot thank RR enough for all the work they do. I am really glad my boyfriend and I found this place! My aunt was visiting and staying over at my house for a few days starting October 7th till the 16th. I had to give up my room, which meant my rabbit had to be displaced for a bit. We researched and stumbled upon this place, which had a decent price for boarding rabbits: $15 for neutered rabbits and $20 for non-neutered per night. They would provide hay and all the fixings based on what you put on the application for boarding. The place was a bit of a drive for me since I come from Glendale, but worth it so my rabbit has a good place to stay for. I honestly got lost for a bit since I couldn't find the place at first, but once I called to ask for directions, I was informed that the entrance and facility was basically where the lumber yard entrance was. It was a small parking lot and I could see the little outside gated area with some bunnies hopping around before entering the building on the right hand side. I was greeted by the worker at the counter as I passed cages, pens, and even a small supply of rabbit related items on the wall. The worker was polite and patient with me as we figured out the stay for my rabbit and what he would be needing. He unfortunately wasn't going to be allowed to have bonding time die to not being fixed, but she promised to bring him along since they were planning to bring some of the rabbits they rescued to the doctor to be fixed. (I ended up getting a call and for $60 he was fixed!) My little rabbit was really happy when I left him in the temporary cage they had for him and was eating away at the fresh greens. I was able to get a look around the place and it had a lot of rooms filled with rabbits in pens and cages as well as a space for them to bond. When I got my rabbit back on the 20th, one of the workers helped me get him to his carrier and she was so nice and sweet to him and telling me he was a good boy during his stay. He definitely was sad to go because now at home he looks like he's dreaming of that place lolz Definitely will use this place again when I take a vacation or I need someone to take care of him at a moment's notice. read more

I highly recommend this rescue. After 5 years of having a single bun I finally decided to get him a partner. He went through so many girls at the shelter and didn't land on any of them. I took him home for a few weeks and the shelter went on a hunt for a girl that would fit well with him. When they emailed me about Daisy it was a match made in heaven for my Gatsby. It was love at first sight with these two and they spent a lovely honeymoon at the shelter. I took them home after a week and they have been inseparable since. I never see one without the other and they are always cuddling and grooming each other. Gatsby is a changed man ever since he fell in love with Daisy! He is so happy and in love!! Daisy settled in just fine as well and is a happy bun. I love these two with my whole heart and I am so thankful to Rabbit Rescue for bringing my babies together! read more

If I could give Rabbit Rescue 100 stars I would. I went here to board my two female rabbits over the thanksgiving holiday. My rabbits did not get along whatsoever and we were honestly at a breaking point trying to figure out if we should keep our newest addition. Natalie could see how badly I wanted the two to get along and said she was willing to take them home with her to bond them. After 2 weeks of being with Natalie (who I tell my friends is the bunny whisperer) my babies are inseparable. You would have never guessed a month ago they were trying to kill each other. I honestly was in tears the first time I saw them cuddle up together because I was that happy. If you have a bunny and want to go get a second rabbit I would suggest going here first because the bonding is included unlike where I went before. I have boarded my rabbit two times with this group. The first tow times were perfect,, and the lady that grooms them is a genius. I think they have really good people that run the rescue,, but the volunteers are suspect. The thrid time lead to her death. My rabbit went in on a Saturday (3+ weeks ago) to be boarded and she was perfectly healthy, when I picked her up on a Thursday,,5 nights later, she was crippled. Someone handled her wrong ( per the vet) and I suspect an untrained volunteer. Her back got wrenched and she was crippled with her back legs. Then the volunteers there tried to blame me for this. She was fine when I left her, not when I got her back. Today, 3 weeks later, she died from the injury inflicted by them. I am beyond livid. I think they really need to train their people as to what to do with an un docile animal. I'm sure they meant no harm,,, but an untrained person did this to my bun and I cannot forgive them. read more

*Part 2 of 2* . After hours of disappointment I had tears in my eyes in front of my son. They did not want my son to touch any of the rabbits at the end of my appointment I kept having to tell the girl the rabbit is for me . For me to love. Tears running down my face my son and I got out of the bonding cage and I told the girl your denying me love . She tried to say I want the rabbit just for now, how some weird people only get rabbits for Easter. I am a Hebrew Israelite my family don't celebrate holidays. I drove 40mins and got lost multiple times because this place is in the corner and easy to miss, but I still came. I left this place in disappointment being the only black person there then seeing others leave with their rabbit. It really made me see how others can view you when they don't know you. I am a mother of a 6 year old human being on television with a teaching degree and she told me I wasn't ready for one of their rabbits , where in fact my home is more spacious and cleaner then what they are currently living in. From the moment I walked in the long waits , weird tension. I all I wanted to do was bring my rabbit home however this place didn't give me a home or welcoming from the start. In reality I can buy every rabbit there and pay every body and they grandma rent ! In end it's always the color of my skin. Or what people think I cant do , where in reality I can. The next Day I found another local shelter and adopted a baby Holland lop which a baby rabbit was one of my perferance. I named her Zaza in Hebrew it's "animal for all moment of light". Growing through this horrible experience will only make me love Zaza even harder. I got her the same day and was there for less than a hour. Getting Zaza made me realize how mean these girls was to me straight in my face. Not knowing I'm a BLM Activist , Millennial influencer , Disney Kid and actress . Zaza is happy and been with me for 2 week now. I won't recommend this place because they give you false hope, long waits, disappointments and I would say they pick and choose to give the rabbits to the people they wanna. This experience taught me a lot and me and Zaza is Hoping towards the future because she's living in luxury. A opportunity you took from one of your rabbits. For this place to always say how much they want the rabbits in a good home. I would say they turned away a lot of good people and haulted their chances to provide that . Imagine being denied love because of stereotypes and biases of another person . The girl kept saying how she don't want my son to touch the rabbit and how kids heart their ears and scare them. She gave me every excuse in the book even if the rabbit is for me and not my son. I boarded my unspayed, 11-month old Netherland Dwarf here over the weekend due to a trip I had planned. Called about 3 weeks ahead to reserve a spot (make sure to call ahead because spots get taken up quick!). The staff were all very helpful. They also have a large assortment of bunny goods that you can purchase from toys, bowls, to treats. They look like they get them all from Amazon, so it's pretty convenient to get them here. Parking is a bit inconvenient, but this is a nonprofit that's sharing a lot with a roofing store. Will definitely be boarding here again in the future as they're so close to my home! read more

The staff / volunteers are friendly and informative . So I finally decided to adopt another bunny for my Jessica Rabbit, and found the one for her (Mr. Fluffy). The staff is so concerned about the well being and adoption for there rabbits that they do the bonding process for you. Also super low prices on Oxbow rabbit food, hay, and bunny stuff!! Great price for adoptions as well $75!! Considering that they are Spayed/Neutered and potty trained, Most Vets charge $75+ to get your rabbit fixed. My aunt had a rabbit that died from cancer because she was not Spayed. Some people should NOT have pets if they can not afford to provide proper Housing/Care for there animals. I was on multiple wait list unlit I found this place . I filled out the application to adopt I a rabbit where they told me they can't hold rabbits which was fine. They scheduled my appointment for 2 weeks the wait was on. Before my appointment they called me to check in I told them everything I bought for my rabbit through Amazon and how my order was undeliverable. They said it was fine because they sale supplies and everything I need there. When I got there a girl helped me. She told me to look at all the rabbits, I did. After looking at the rabbits she told me the babies was off limits where they knew that was in my application, but no problem. I kept looking. Then the girl told me to look only in 1 section selection of about 5. Already there 35mins. I picked one and she said it wasn't for adoption but was in the adoption section along with a couple other rabbits. 2 choices yet. Bellinni . A adult white rabbit. She took me to the bonding room where it was just me and my son. She told us to have a seat and don't touch the rabbit when she put him in the cage with us to see what he will do. He did some sniffs , hops , she said he was happy. The girl asked me what I know abt rabbits and I spilled everything because I owned 2 in the past. Being 26 looking 15 with a 6 year old they never asked my age, however u can feel a bad energy. After saying how happy the rabbit was , she said she don't think he will be a good fit for our family. That was ok I was willing to look at more. The girl left and another girl came in. We been there for 1 hour and 10mins now. The 2nd worker literally asked me all the same questions the other girl asked me a hour ago I was frustrated but stayed. The girl bought another rabbit in for bonding with me and my son. First thing she said was , rabbits don't do good with kids and shouldn't be around kids. I told her the rabbit is for me and not for my son I want it as my baby. She then told me "well you know he gonna wanna touch the rabbit". I said I saw pictures on your Instagram with kids and their rabbits. She then said "rabbit eat walls" I said I know all houses have walls. He or she will have chew toys. She asked me if the rabbit needed medical help can I cover the cost I said " yes what ever it need I have the money" then she replied "but it's not all about the money" then I said " you just asked me if my rabbit was sick can I afford medical payments I'm a actress I know it's not about the money but I want my rabbit to have everything plus more so it can be comfortable. Apon my appointment they asked me to take pictures of my home . I am 26 years old with a 6 year old son and 1 big sister. We all live together in a 5 bedroom house ,3 bath and front yard. I took pictures of my home and rooms everything was clean. I know they did a review on me because Their Instagram views my story highlights. In the middle of bonding with the 2nd rabbit I showed her the pictures. At the end of the appointment this lady said she own two rabbits and I told her once again how I owned 2 in the past when I was younger. She then told me to wrap the cords she saw in one of the pictures which was my bedroom the rabbits primary room. I replied " ooh no problem I don't have to it's just my phone charger I can take it out the plug socket". I showed her where the rabbit will be the same like I showed the previous Girl. The previous girl knew I was purchasing supplies also and when I told the other girl . This girl said no ! Being there for more than 2 hours . After waiting more than 2 weeks for a appointment after looking through rabbits noir, bear, Bellini, phoenex , and another . Searching to give a animal a good life like I always wanted to as a child . The girl told me "I think you need to wait because you want it. I said "I know I want it . They asked me to choose a rabbit then every rabbit I picked they said either no or not the right choice and when I choose a rabbit to not give it to me because I want it . How crazy is that . If you want an addition to the family that lives indoors and a staff that truly cares about the animals then go here! Natalie and Susie are great in addition to the rest of the volunteer staff. A small adoption fee goes a long way and all this does is become a donation. Truly non-profit unlike some other for-profit rescues. We rescued one dwarf bun then made sure she would do well with another and had them keep her for a week to pair with a lop bun. Currently we have two at home that love each other. Suzzie is nice and treated us fairly when we adopted our rabbit. The place is clean and they take care of their rabbits. However the environment is rife with animal rights paranoia. One of the middle-aged Latina staff is too loud and aggressive when answering your questions to the point where you have clearly sinned to ask anything of her at all. Wonderful. The experience was as such: We asked about product line differences in the only brand of bunny pellets they sell (adult/juvenile,garden blend) which is a highly regarded brand in the industry called Oxbox. She proceeded to lecture us about how the clearly unspecified generic bag of adult Oxbox rabbit pellets were for special needs rabbits. Wtf? She should know right because she's an expert... hmmm yet a famous and highly regarded company like Oxbow couldn't be bothered to indicate that a bigass bag like that is for special needs rabbits with urinary infections or diarrhea?? Didn't even feel like an upsell because the other "garden" mix blend was smaller/cheaper and seemingly more specialized. So wtf was that Rabbit Rescue? Hire some helpful high school kids who take care of themselves better and don't drink soda for breakfast and lecture others about what their pets should eat when it's just a matter of specificity. I bonded my (now BFFs) rabbits here and board them here when I'm gone for a week or more. Overall, I LOVE this place. I had adopted another rabbit from a family I knew who could no longer keep her. It was a nightmare trying to bond them myself, as they were each constantly fighting to be alpha and fur was literally flying. I brought them here for boarding/bonding service, and they have been inseparable since. I don't know how they did it--there was some major bunny whispering done. Secondly, I board my rabbits here. I feel the prices are very reasonable ($26/day for 2 rabbits) and they love it here with their oat hay, fresh veggies, and many, many toys. I trust that the people who check up on them are rabbit savvy and know what to do in the event of a health issue, which is a major concern of any rabbit owner when they're gone. However, since this place is a rescue and not a full-fledged business, the downside is being able to set up times for pick up/drop off, since I have to coordinate when the volunteers are available, which is rather limited. Also, most recently, I came back to pick up beautifully groomed rabbits with trimmed nails, but there was one time where they looked messy and hadn't been touched by humans in days. So there is variety sometimes in what to expect. I wholly support this place though. Just wish it were closer to my place! read more
