My husband and I have been fostering two bunnies from Bunny World Foundation (BWF) for about a year now. After losing our previous bunny unexpectedly, which totally wrecked us, we found immense comfort and support through this incredible community of rabbit lovers. Lejla, Jane, and the long-time volunteers are exceptionally knowledgeable about bunny care and wellness, and they truly care about every single animal. Bunnies are not "easy" pets, so having a whole community to lean on and ask questions around the clock makes the world of difference. Because of BWF, I've become a much better caretaker in providing a suitable environment, proper diet, and grooming. Fostering Popcorn and Zoe has been such a joy. It's unfortunate that people tend to overlook REWs (Ruby-Eyed Whites) because of their eyes, but Zoe is brilliant! She's a smart girl who has recently started zooming and binkying the second she hears the fridge open up until you set that nice plate of greens down. While she prefers her enclosure, if you step into her space, she'll happily demand pets and treats. Popcorn is a curious guy who explores the house every day as if it's his first time seeing it yet we can completely trust him not to chew on anything! He earned his name from the hilarious midair body shakes during his binkies, witnessing one will absolutely make your day. He is notorious for his afternoon nap flops as well. Zoe is definitely the dominant one, which means Popcorn grooms her every single day. We can always tell when Zoe tries to return the favor because she's... not great at it. Popcorn ends up looking like he just rolled out of bed! Both of them are incredibly well-behaved, used to being groomed, and will happily sit in your lap for hours during a grooming session. Hopefully Popcorn and Zoe can find their perfect forever home where they will have more space to binky and explore! If you are looking to adopt, foster, or support a rescue that truly knows and cares for rabbits, Bunny World Foundation is an amazing option. read more

We absolutely love Bunny World Foundation! We adopted our two beautiful Lionhead bunnies, Naya & Rei, from BWF two years ago, and I have also had the privilege of being a foster parent for the organization. They do such incredible work for rabbits and are truly an amazing rescue. Naya & Rei are a bonded brother-and-sister pair who have brought so much love and joy to our family. Unfortunately, our family is moving and we are unable to take them with us. We are heartbroken, but are working with Bunny World Foundation to help find these two sweet, beautiful bunnies a loving home together. If you're looking to add two incredibly special bunnies to your family, please reach out to BWF! read more

I visited Bunny World's adoption event a couple of years ago and recently returned with a friend who adopted two rabbits. I was amazed to see that the same level of dedication and commitment among the volunteers remains unchanged. There was an abundance of support, guidance, and resources available to help adopters. The bunnies are medically cleared and meticulously groomed before going to their new homes, reflecting the organization's commitment to their health and well-being. I have seen quite a few nonprofit organizations over the years, but Bunny World truly stands out. The compassion, professionalism, and tireless dedication of its volunteers are exceptional. It is clear that the welfare of these bunnies is at the heart of everything they do. read more

I adopted my bunny, Floyd, back in 2020 from a rescue somewhere within driving distance of me. I'd always wanted one and he ended up being the sweetest boy I can imagine. I truly don't think I've encountered a creature sweeter than him. It was always my intention to adopt a companion for him but I couldn't figure out the best way to go about bonding. Life happened and somehow 5 years went by where I didn't have the time or confidence to go through the bonding process myself or the finances to outsource it. Honestly... I felt guilty constantly. I knew he deserved better. Rabbits form bonds with each other that are so beyond what humans could ever imagine feeling for one another, and I wanted this for him desperately. Fast forward, May of this year came and I was done waiting. After some time spent scouring the internet, BWF came up. I emailed them, along with a few other adoption agencies, and the next day I got such a kind email back from the founder Lejla. She vocalized that she could see how much my little guy meant to me, and was so kind. We set up a phone call where I got a feel for how knowledgeable and caring she and the rest of the organization is. When she told me that they actually offer complementary bonding services, I was sold. Lejla claims to be a bunny match maker. I love the idea of that so I had no problem just buying into it, but logically I know it sounds a bit silly (and cute) saying to other people. But listen. I described Floyd's personality to her over email, and immediately she sends a picture of this adorable white nosed cinamon girl. She says something like "this is his future wife... don't ask. I'm a bunny match maker". We set up an appointment, the girl bun she sent me a picture of was brought along with some other potential partners, but in my mind I was like "hey, we might as well just try them out first." They got along immediately. If you know bunnies... you know this is NOT always the case. I think she might actually be a bunny matchmaker haha. Floyd and his cinnamon girlfriend (I named her Bambi) had their first date on a beautiful sunset evening backdrop, and afterwards they were whisked away for their honeymoon. I'm coining the phrase bunnymoon. I got them back a week later, and I can't even express the happiness this whole experience has brought me. Floyd is in LOVE. Bambi is in love. I'm in love with both of them. I get to watch how happy Bambi is here in her home, she zooms around like a puppy. I get to wake up and see them cuddling or grooming each other. Every time I look at either or both of them my heart swells. There's so many benefits from adopting from BWF, this is way longer than I meant for it to be, but seriously. This organization is so good and so caring. Bunnies are really misunderstood here in U.S. and they're spreading such important information on how they really need to be treated. They give you so many great detailed resources on veterinary care, what types of food to give, which brands are best, the list goes on. They haven't failed me a single time yet. They've only brought happiness for me, and more importantly, Floyd and Bambi. I'm really grateful for BWF. read more

I was looking to adopt a companion for my solo bunny and came across Bunny World Foundation (BWF) through Instagram and Petfinder. From the moment I reached out, Lejla guided me through the entire adoption process and explained BWF's mission in detail. Their dedication to rescuing bunnies in need and finding them loving forever homes is truly inspiring. Beyond adoptions, BWF offers incredible resources like grooming workshops and the Bunny Chateau, which I've used every time I go on vacation--such a lifesaver! Bunny World Foundation has been a true lifeline -- not just once, but time and time again. When I first connected with them, I boarded my bunny Squish. After that, they helped us find him a companion. Squish had been struggling with ongoing health issues and they have helped every time. I never expected to find an organization so deeply committed, knowledgeable, and truly in love with what they do. Lejla and her team didn't just help me adopt a new bunny friend -- they stepped in like extended family, doing everything they could to ensure both of my bunnies were healthy, safe, and thriving. Every time my bunny had a flare-up or a new symptom, they were there -- offering advice, checking in, helping me find experienced rabbit vets, and even educating me on what to look for. Their attention to detail and genuine passion for bunny welfare is incredible. I honestly believe they helped save my bunny's life more than once -- just by caring enough to go the extra mile. They take adoption seriously, and it shows. They care about each bunny's personality, health, and future. Lejla and the team don't just place bunnies -- they build bonds, create families, and advocate for what's right. Their message of "adopt, don't shop" couldn't be more important, especially with so many rabbits in need of proper care and understanding. On top of all that, Bunny World Foundation also offers bunny boarding, guidance, and support for every phase of the bunny journey. Whether it's bonding, diet, housing, medical care, or just peace of mind -- they're there. I will forever be grateful to Bunny World Foundation for their heart, their tireless advocacy, and their commitment to these gentle, complex, beautiful animals. If you're considering a bunny, don't buy. Adopt through Bunny World. You won't just be saving a bunny -- you'll be gaining a support system unlike any other. read more

Ambiance: Super clean and calm space Service: Bunny shelter and boarding Expertise: Leila has been caring for rabbits for over a decade. She has dealt with the worst-case scenarios and patiently cares for each rabbit. Because she has seen a variety of cases in diverse populations of rabbits, she has more experience in care and solutions than vets who typically care for well-kept and low-risk bunnies. Research: Leijla does not take cases at face value. She observes, probes, and does her independent research to get to the root of the matters with bunnies. Not only does she read imperial articles, but she also consults the best doctors specializing in rabbit care. Resourceful: Leila is a solution seeker and community builder. She creates workshops for people to interact and learn from one another while tending to their rabbits. Highly recommend her workshops** Everyone who takes her courses, boards their rabbits, or adopts from her has the same response. They feel safe and taken care of. Personal Experience: I took my bunny when she was at her lowest. She had a head tilt, loss of appetite, and fatigued. She had seen the best bunny doctors we could find in LA. All said that her head tilt was permanent and that her quality of life was questionable. I was at a point where I sincerely thought I was going to lose my fur baby. I took my bunny to Leila to get another opinion and hope that my bunny has the right future. Once Leila assessed her, with firm conviction she told me if my bunny follows a strict recovery schedule, she will have nearly a full recovery. A few months later, my bunny is hopping, eating, and living her best life with the slightest head tilt. I wholeheartedly trust her. Bunny world truly saved my bunny. read more

Bunny world foundation is the best and Lejla is amazing! She's been taking care of my bunnies for the last 8 years , whenever we've been out of town. You can tell she really cares for them and has so much knowledge about rabbits. She adores them and treats them like they're her own :) she also does the most thorough job with their grooming. Sadly one of our bunnies is in bunny heaven now but she still takes care of the one when we are gone. Highly recommend if you need to board, groom or adopt a bunny! read more

I started fostering Lola Blue from Bunny World Foundation after she was surrendered during the LA wildfires, and I immediately fell in love with her. At the time, I had a single boy bunny and started thinking about bonding them. Lejla, the owner of BWF, was so patient, kind, and understanding while I took my time deciding whether to adopt Lola. When she was finally spayed and I made the decision to adopt her, I was under a very tight time crunch because I was moving to Colorado soon. Lejla was incredibly kind and went above and beyond to make sure the bunnies were bonded, happy, and healthy before I left. She even got me a vet appointment for both bunnies that same week, which I really appreciated. The day before moving, I also attended a grooming workshop at BWF. I learned so many great tips I did not know before, and even though it was a busy day, Lejla personally made sure both my bunnies were groomed well before the end of the day. It is clear that Lejla, Jane, and the staff at BWF genuinely care about all the bunnies they help. They really put thought into making sure the bunnies go to the right homes and get the love they deserve. I have learned so much about bunny care, and I still learn more through the community Facebook group. Whenever I had questions, they were always there to help, whether by phone-call, email, or in-person, offering kind and consistent support throughout the entire process. I'm well on my way to become a crazy bunny lady. Obsessing with their poops, picking them up with my hands, making sure they are the normal size, consistency, and color that would indicate their good health. Refilling their hay then running errands around town with hay pieces stuck to the back of my pants or sticking out of my hair like I don't care. Spending half an hour daily, looking, liking, laughing, and sometimes crying over bunny content on social media. Selecting the choicest blade of hay from a bag to present to her highness. If she sniffs and turns her head away in disdain, I scramble to find something bouncier and crunchier befitting of her royal palate. Waking up at 2am because his chubbiness likes digging into my bedsheet at the wee hour of the morning. Petting him to validate his effort or I may get a nip in the arm for not paying proper attention. Did I know what I sign up for when I take on these floofy babies? Not entirely. I mean, I thought I did, but clearly I was unprepared to be wrapped around their little furry paws. Thank you Bunny World Foundation, I never knew I could be so happy collecting poops, sweeping hays, serving up veggies, while getting berated by thumpy feet. They are my whole world. We adopted our bunnies from Bunny World Foundation. They are an all volunteer organization. They are really knowledgeable about bunnies. They worked with us on which pair of bunnies would fit with our family. They took what they learned about our household to find a good fit and they were right! River and Lilly are a good fit. As an organization, WBF is such an advocate for bunnies. They help out bunnies in need (like after the wildfires) and are always willing to answer questions we have about our bunnies. Lejla does it again! She truly is a bunny whisperer. I brought in Chibi to look for a husbun, after her hubby passed away. Lejla saw her and paired her up with a handsome cinnamon. I've never seen her so immediately accepting of another being. They bonded immediately. We didn't even need to try anyone else. Bonding at home was a breeze. They had no issues. It was a match made in bun heaven. Lejla sent over the information for free bunny exams. He's very healthy, but the Doctor was knowledgable, and gave great advice. Lejla also updated BWF's after bonding advice. Worked like a dream. I set up a bunny cam to monitor the bunnies and get cute glimpses of their lives when we are working. There are so many Binkies! There are many bunnies needing fosters and forever homes, and many of them are super sweet and adorable! read more

I adopted two precious little bunnies from Bunny World this Spring. When I attended an adoption event, I immediately fell in love with Nomi and Sunshine. Since I never had a rabbit before, I had a lot of learning to do. Lejla and her Team of wonderful volunteers (Katherine, Jane and Melinda helped me) helped me every step of the way, and immediately adopted us into their bunny loving "family". My husband and I absolutely adore our two cute bunny companions. Nomi even plays games with me, such as tossing his toy plastic keys when I give them to him. He also likes to toss his toy plastic cups. Taking care of them and spending quality time with them is so relaxing . Their energy is so gentle and peaceful. I highly recommend Bunny World to those who are looking to adopt. They offer "bonded pairs" of bunnies, who love to be together and are very loving towards each other. read more

A little background on my experience with bunny adoptions. I first dove head first into the bunny community when I kind of accidentally adopted a bunny from another organization. At the other shelter organization , I was interested in adoption and went in to ask and was simply told to fill out an application for information. Little did I know, I got a call the next day telling me to pick up my bunny. I was flabbergasted by how easy it was, since the application made it seem there would be some sort of screening process. I was also not prepared or sure I wanted to adopt. Luckily for this little bunny, I was more than willing to do whatever it would take to ensure his happiness and have a forever home. Nonetheless, it was disappointing to know how easily other people with not the same intentions could adopt. For my second bunny, I did a lot of research and sent out emails and made calls to multiple organizations. I ended up going with Bunny World Foundation, and I am SOOO glad I did. Unlike my first experience, there was a whole process with this organization and it made me feel at ease knowing they truly look out for the bunnies' best interest. I ended up adopting a beautiful lady for my baby boy and they couldn't be happier. I was provided with so much helpful information, vouchers, workshop information and so much more. I love seeing all the love the volunteers and members have for the bunnies. They offer super important and useful services such as boarding and grooming workshops. I would truly recommend this organization for anyone who is a bunny or animal lover looking to adopt or foster. Look no further, there are plenty of buns who need a loving home. read more

We love our bunny. They really care about rabbits but their practice is a little heavy handed. They protect the rabbits fiercely and provide great healthcare to them, including the first vet visit being free and included with the adoption fees. They want to insure the adopted rabbits are placed in wonderful homes, and their contract you sign states in the event you have to surrender your rabbit- whether illness, finances or death - they reserve the right to repossess the rabbit. The staff was really caring. They invest a lot of time, effort, and resources to each bunny. To prevent a gastrointestinal stasis, Layla recommends you brush the rabbit every 6-8 weeks for 3-4 hours. I've never tried this. They provide bonding services in a neutral location for a week. You can opt to pay $300 or foster a pair of buns for a week. This caused us a lot of separation anxiety with our long time rabbit friend. There never was a slower week. No physical location - just a PO Box and they house the bunnies in foster homes and we met our rabbit at a person's converted garage and garden. Thank you, Bunny World Foundation! read more

A truly amazing group! After my rabbit passed early this year, I had been waiting for the right time to look for another rabbit. This time definitely a pair because you shouldn't get just one! It's alright, but the rabbits have a much healthier and happier life in a pair! But anyways, I've always had my eye on the Bunny World Foundation whenever I was searching. It was so wonderful to finally get the process started with them and find my sweet new babies! The group of women who organize and coordinate pick up/exchanges/meetings are so dedicated and wonderful. Lejla, Jane, and Daisy were all so wonderful when I met them! Do not let the bad reviews fool you. These women and volunteers dedicate their time and homes to care for these sweet animals. Bunny World Foundation is an excellent rescue for all things bunnies! I started fostering with Bunny World Foundation when the LA Fires broke out, leaving lots of displaced bunnies. I am a huge animal lover but had no experience with bunnies. They really took the time to teach me all about these gentle, precious creatures and set me up with the most adorable pair to foster - Fernie and Drew Bunnymore (did I mention they are excellent at naming? Lol)! My life has been enriched ever since! :) If you are looking to adopt a bunny into your home (and you definitely should!) this is a great place to go. They are bunny experts and encourage all questions, have a great community, and tons of mentors to help get you started. They have all types of bunnies available for adoption as they are constantly rescuing as many as they can from shelters, owner surrenders, abandoned bunnies, etc. It's an excellent rescue and the founder has the biggest heart! read more

I met Lejla/BWF in 2019 when I had my solo dutch bunny. I've had bunnies my entire life, but boy did I learn how to take so much better care of them once I met this group. They gave me the tools, knowledge and support to give my pets a better, happier life. I'm talking total turn-around in pet personalities because they became happier pets with better diets and free-roaming. I've adopted 2 bunnies from BWF and they've both been successfully bonded to their partners (via BWF) I can't believe I went so long without having bonded bunnies. They are truly much happier if they can get along with a friend! I also have used Lejla for boarding services for years. I trust her with my animals, and I know they are well taken care of. They may even enjoy the fancy setup and toys more at her spot than we have at home-lol! I'm always taking notes of how well Lejla treats the bunnies, and how I can implement the toys, and strategies into our own home. We have two bonded bunnies currently, and they essentially live free roam our my home. With patience and love, we've gained the trust of bunnies who have been abandoned, neglected, and now they sleep peacefully out in the open in our home, barely budging when we walk by. What amazing progress that would not have been possibly without the love and support of BWF and Lejla. read more

Without Lejla and her team of volunteers this incredible NPO would not be where it is today. They are doing such incredible work getting as many Bunnies off death row and stopping backyard breeders, taking on the war against bunny abandonment and maltreatment. I'm a huge animal lover, I always have been. I came across bunny world's Instagram one day and try to always help where I can. I already had my girl bun but my heart is always open to animals. One day BWF was in search of a foster for a mama bun and her babies. I reached out and we agreed a pair would be a better fit to foster. I filled out all of the paper work and BWF verified my home was fit for my fosters. They set me up with a mentor and I picked up my foster buns, Oliver and Clara. BWF was so helpful through the whole process and the community is so knowledgeable and quick to reply whenever questions arise. I've learned so much and continue to learn from everyone involved. BWF even helped me out with my girl bun when she had a medical emergency after her spay. After a few months of fostering my original girl bun was still by herself and was very curious about the new pair in our spare room. Eventually we decided to get her a husbun. We adopted Coop (Cola) from BWF in October 2022. He's the absolute sweetest boy, I couldn't have asked for a better addition. My husband and I recently relocated to the PNW from LA and when faced with the choice to return our foster buns to BWF or give them a forever home, we decided to adopt Oliver and Clara and bring them with us. BWF bonded our 2 pairs while we went on vacation and when we came back they were one big lovable fluffle! I'm so thankful to come across a foundation that does so much for these little creatures and their advocates. I really appreciate their focus on educating people. THE BEST ORGANIZATION!! FOSTER FAILS STORIES! After losing my bunny that I adopted from the shelter, I was looking at the opportunity to foster as it was too soon after the passing of my last bunny. The process of becoming a foster was stress free and I felt very supported by the organization. The facebook group made sure that I had all my questions answered and Lejla has so much knowledge about bunnies that she is able to help with any problems that may arise. I love my bunnies so much and I owe so much to Bunny World for bringing these amazing babies into my life. With all of Bunny World's expertise, I am now knowledgeable about everything and I feel like I am never alone. Update: For those looking to adopt from BWF, my understanding now is that there are occasional adoption events to see the buns rather than appointments in an office, so be sure to look into when those event days are. I was not aware of this until it was too late and I had adopted from another rescue. A friendly suggestion to BWF to maybe make this information readily available on the home page of their website for visitors to see! BWF is 100% volunteer-run, and they are very busy, so it's just a suggestion to save valuable time for volunteers and avoid confusion from adoptees like me. Thank you to Michelle for the email soon after I left my review, and for going out of her way to reach out to me multiple times to explain how busy they were, hence the lack of response to my adoption process. I appreciate you, and I'm genuinely sorry that things did not work out! As I said in my original review, I am in no way against what BWF stands for, its volunteers, or the work that they do. I was trying to make constructive criticism on the lack of communication in the adoption process, because I just wanted to rescue one of their many bunnies that they are caring for and I was heartbroken. I didn't know that they were so busy that they couldn't respond to emails, and had I been told so, there would've been a far better mutual understanding, I think. On another note, I do not appreciate one volunteer who I won't name, who sent what felt like a passive aggressive email that I'm "kicking people when they're down", or that my review was "untrue". It was my experience, which is as valid as any other, and if they check our email thread, I have not said anything untrue or disrespectful. I cannot know what anyone is going through if I am not told, and had someone quickly said that they are busy and would get back to me when the time is right, I would have completely respected it and waited. Since I didn't know this and wasn't given any response after multiple calls and emails, it felt like I was being ghosted. Or, alternatively, if I knew when the next adoption event was, all time spent through email correspondence could've been saved, and I would've shown up in person. I understand that they were hurt when they sent it, but I don't appreciate the email from this representative and think it was very uncalled for. I hope that this person can find the kindness in their heart to try to see the situation from my point of view, and why I was feeling hurt as someone who just wanted to support BWF and give a bunny a home. Thanks for understanding, and I wish BWF, its volunteers, and Dottie the bunny only the best. read more

I adopted Peppercini and Marshmallow from Bunny World Foundation a couple weeks ago and I'm so happy! They were orphaned in 2022 at just a few weeks old and thankfully BWF rescued them. They are super sweet bunnies and I'm glad I could give them a forever home. Everyone at Bunny World Foundation was really helpful and helped me find the perfect bunnies for me. The volunteers are so kind and always answer any questions I have about taking care of my bunnies. They work so hard to rescue and take care of all the bunnies! read more

(TLDR; Adopt four if you can, it's life changing) In November 2019 I went to BWF in search for a REW (Ruby eyed white) and found "Snowball". He was bonded with "Contessa" (wooly grey angora) and I immediately fell in love with the pair. My husband and I went to the adoption event and met them and we knew Snowball's goofy personality and Contessa's princess like behavior would be a great match for us. At the event we saw Theo (grey chinchilla) and his sibling Sweet Pea (brown lion head chinchilla). My husband LOVED Theo's coat, but we were going to stick with Snowball and Contessa. His coat is so beautiful we thought he would get adopted right away. Lejla, the leader of BWF, kept hinting that we should adopt all four! My husband and I nervously laughed and said no way. We were so wrong. After getting home with Snowball and Contessa, I made the 1st mistake and gave them too much space. There was a brawl between them and we ended up visiting the vet where we made the 2nd mistake and separated them. I broke the bond and had to split their living area in two. After a few weeks of living separated I needed to book a stay at the Bunny Chateau (the only place my rabbits go if I leave town). To my surprise, Theo and Sweet Pea were still waiting to be adopted! Lejla says a great way to get bunnies to stop fighting is to distract them with another rabbit.... Well, while Snowball and Contessa stayed at the Bunny Chateau, they met Sweet Pea and Theo. It wasn't love at first sight for them, but it ended up being the best decision ever. In December 2019 we brought all four home and I started with a "smaller" space. Sweet Pea was picking fights with Contessa and again... I needed to separate my rabbits. Fortunately Snowball and Contessa were best pals again (Lejla was right!). After living for 10 months separated we decided to try bonding all four again. I went to Jane (another amazing volunteer at BWF) and she set the four straight. I took home some foster buns while my four were at Jane's "bootcamp" where she is an absolute rock star! After ~ 2 weeks I went get my buns and I was super cautious at first but 9 months later we are still living in peace with all four sharing a space! If you can, I HIGHLY recommend adopting four bunnies from Bunny World Foundation. It feels no different from two and all four personalities shine so bright in our home. Theo and Sweet Pea were waiting for THREE YEARS for someone to adopt them. They are the friendliest buns and I can't imagine Snowball and Contessa without their besties. read more

BWF is the best and most educated rescue out there! in my opinion, they top most other rescues in the sense where they educate, advocate, and everything is for the sake of the bunnies whom they rescue. They helped me greatly in bonding my four buns (3 of whom are from BWF) and my family and I have rescued from them back in 2013. The bunnies are fantastic, and the rescue is full of great and amazing people who stop at nothing to ensure every rabbit is taken care of. All profits go to the rabbits as well, which is well worth it since any donation is a tax write off. Please do anything and everything to volunteer or help out, as they truly do deserve it as an organization! read more

I just started volunteering at BWF and it's been a really positive experience! All the team members are super knowledgeable on all things bunnies. The foundation leader is very passionate about the care of the bunnies. Your bunny is in excellent hands here ! They are super welcoming and they teach you how to brush your bunny properly! Brushing bunnies WILL TAKE 3+ hours but it's for the HEALTH of your bunny !!!!!!!! You have to take it seriously. They help you with nail trims and cleaning glands ! I found it really helpful because they show you how to do it and it's less intimidating than I first imagined. It's an amazing team !!! read more
