Love this salon! I had my hair cut and styled by Will. I was so impressed with his technique and professionalism. He also cut my boyfriend's hair and it came out gorgeous! We will definitely be coming back soon! read more

R Salon is a real finder. I called on Saturday at around 3 pm to learn that Christina is available for my hair cut at 4:30 pm. Not only she cut and styled my hair beautifully, she also spend some time making my highlights looking natural and vibrant. I loved everything: the professionalism, the atmosphere, and the fact that I was able to get an appointment with Christina the same day I called. I would highly recommend this place to all my friends. read more

Christine is absolutely wonderful! I just had a baby & needed a salon close to me that made me feel comfortable, as well as making my hair look/feel great. R Salon has a calming & inviting atmosphere with a pleasant staff. Christine welcomed me & sat with me the entire time my hair was processing just to chat..she has a wonderful disposition & truly cares about her clients. read more

I came here upon the recommendation from a friend. I made an appointment with Christine and she did an amazing job! She has a beautifully pleasant personality and made me feel comfortable with her (since it was my first time going to someone new for a cut in 18 years). My hair came out perfect and exactly what I wanted! Looks like I have my new go-to! Can't wait to go back! read more

Christine has been my stylist for several years now and she absolutely fabulous. Before her, I have had my hair cut and colored everywhere from small local salons to big time famous salons and I have to say, NONE of them even come close to the AMAZING job Christine does every time I see her. I get my hair colored and cut regularly and Christine does an fantastic job with my color. We color it brown and then Christine paints in some bleach to lighten up the tips. I get a ton of compliments on not only the color but the cut as well. Christine is very consistent with both which is very important. I always leave R salon feeling like a million dollars. Thank you Christine for your artistic ability! read more

This place went above and beyond for me! This salon is down the street from me and I never thought to give this place a try until today. I called around 11:30am asking if they could squeeze me in for a looooong overdue haircut. Not only could they squeeze me in, they got me an appointment for noon ON A SATURDAY! AMAZING. I had the pleasure of meeting Christine, my stylist. She was very sweet and extremely helpful with suggestions for shampoo for my dry hair. I have very long hair and although I was hesitant to get the layers in my hair that Christine suggested, she nailed my haircut. She didn't take off too much length and she put beautiful layers in my long hair. I was in and out of the salon within an hour even though it was pretty busy in there. I definitely plan on coming back to redo my color when the time is needed!!! Such an amazing experience here! read more

Totally thankful for Christine my 13-year old daughter gets her hair colored and cut by her she does amazing work. My daughter walks out of the R salon feeling good about herself thanks to her. As a mom, I couldn't be more thankful! I totally would recommend her to anyone! read more

Avoid the rude, bitchy attitude of this salon, at all costs!!! (* even worse than the obnoxious staff at Blu Salon, also in Edgewater.) The owner , Tommy, never smiles nor greets clients and has less than zero regard for their comfort or feedback. They give you extremely limited selections of salon brand products. Their styling chairs and ESPECIALLY their shampoo chairs are excruciatingly uncomfortable. Parking is a nightmare! I only patronized this Salon because my amazing hair stylist of many years, William, moved there when the salon he previously worked at, closed. As much as I loved William and am grateful for all the years of top notch professionalism and artistry he provided my hair with, I had no choice but to FLEE this Gloom & Doom salon after at least half a dozen utterly miserable experiences there! ... that Tommy owner is not getting another dime out of me! read more

Love this salon and my stylist William been coming to him for the past three years! And when I first went blonde was with him it was amazing! Now I'm back to brunette and I love it! He does an amazing job and the salon is very well kept awesome atmosphere everyone is very friendly! :) introduced my mom to William for her hair and she keeps coming back we both love him so much! read more

My usual stylist in Englewood was unavailable so I had remembered someone I knew and loved her hair, went to R Salon. I had been in a nail salon and heard someone else speaking about Tommy there. I called and got an appt on a slow week after the holidays. Tommy listened to what I felt about my color and gave his suggestions. I am growing my hair out so he just had to trim a bit. The color came out perfect....everyone else tends to make me too blond. He pegged it!! Took the time to really do a great style and blowdry as well. I really love this place! I understand they have a wonderful wax person as well. My son is going to get his hair cut today...will keep you updated. read more

I have been going to Tommy at R Salon for a couple of years now for cut and highlights and my hair consistently comes out great! I am very picky about color (I have curly hair that is a bit dry, made even worse by too many highlights) and have tried many, many different salons over the years in both north NJ and some of the best in Manhattan. I have never been as happy with any of those other salons as I am with R Salon. Since I have been going to Tommy my hair is shiny, strong and healthier than it has even been and the color is spot on. I used to worry every time I walked in to get my highlights and cut at other salons. I love that I can sit back and relax when I go to R Salon, as I know my hair will be right every time! read more

I moved to the area two years ago and needed to find a new salon. I am extremely picky and I have frizzy difficult hair. I made an appointment at R Salon with Christine. I am so glad I tried them first, she is excellent and a great colorist! I recommended my stepdaughter who is extremely picky and she thinks Christine is awesome too! People have told me my color and hair have never looked better. Prices are very fair, especially for the top quality you receive at R Salon. read more

I recently moved to the area and was looking for a new salon. I had been going to the same hair stylist for 10 years and was nervous about going to someone new. Once I met Christine, I felt very comfortable. She cut, styled, and dyed my hair. I was very satisfied with the results. read more

I found R Salon just by driving by and then doing some review searches, and I've been a fan ever since and continue to go after nearly 2 years. Lucky for me, I got an appointment with Tommy, and he really gets my hair and does great color. One thing I really like is that he doesn't do cookie-cutter cuts or color, as some stylists tend to do. Tommy is the owner, and I suspect he requires the shop to be clean and clutter-free. There's also a good group of assistants who take good care of you. AND, someone in the City called my hair "expensive-looking," which I think is great praise, and I feel pretty smug paying non-NYC prices for it! All in all, R Salon is a great place, and I'm so glad I found it. read more

I read about Christine here on Yelp and requested her for my first appointment at R Salon. She is wonderful! She listened to my concerns and requests and did a great job with my long, thick, dry hair. She's also smart and interesting. If you're looking for a salon near Edgewater go to R. Ask for Christine. read more

Great Salon! Can compete with NY Salons. Very accessible and totally professional. Located in condo complex, Admiral's Condo complex. read more

I've been going to see Christine at R salon for the past 18 months. I am extremely picky about my hair and have bounced around for about 5 years from hair stylist to hair stylist. I was thrilled when I met Christine - she took the time to evaluate my hair and gave me a great cut. Since then she has suggested different cuts and color each time (this last time she suggested balayage highlights which look great - a nice subtle change for summer) that always complement my face well. I would definitely recommend Christine to anyone looking for a reliable stylist. read more

Inalvis is a hair genius! i just got the works - color highlights cut and blow out. Fabulous! Inalvis has been styling my hair for many years. i always get complements. Strangers often ask me who does my highlights. she knows how to bring out the best in style and color for you! and the salon is lovely - pleasant nice and qualified staff and fairly priced for the services you receive. if you are looking for a new salon in the area - look no further! R Salon is it! read more

Came for highlights left with none plus brassy and red looking hair. On top of it my hair in the front was burned off so now The front hair is broken and it looks horrible. The best part of it is that the hairdresser was constantly saying how nice it looked after my hair being soaked in glaze for 20 minutes there was nothing except for my reddish spots on my hair. It is a disaster! I Spent $200 for my hair being ruined literally!!!bad choice I decided to try this place based on their review and trust me do not step in unless you want to spend money to look worse than before. I don't even want to go there for correction not to end up with something worse. read more

Do yourself a favor and go to Christine. She saved the day for me. I had a major hair drama this week after visiting a different salon. Christine saved my hair. Not only is the cut fantastic, but she fixed the botched color job done by the other salon and my hair looks gorgeous. I could not be happier. She was incredibly professional and did a FANTASTIC job. read more

I called the salon looking for a last minute hair cut, they were able to squeeze me in with little notice. Christine was great! She took the time to listen to what I wanted, examined my hair, and suggested what would best suit me. I love my haircut and will be returning for color. Great salon, great stylist, highly recommend it! read more

If I could give zero stars, I would. The colorist/stylist sitting on the right side with a funny name did my hair and brought me to tears with her attitude. The owner could care less. I hope and pray they go out of business soon. Save your money and go elsewhere. read more

I recently moved to West New York from Brooklyn and was very nervous about finding a new hair stylist after 6 years with the same stylist. I had an appointment for a cut and highlights with Christine. I absolutely love what she did to my hair! She is really knowledgeable about coloring - I usually just do regular blonde highlights but she added low lights and somehow made my color much more natural looking and beautiful than it has ever been. It really looks just like the blonde I had naturally as a child. I also love the cut! It was one of those situations where we didn't really discuss too many details before she started away on my hair, so about halfway through the process I thought, "Hmm... what if this turns out to look awful?" I am so satisfied with my hair, and have gotten so many compliments. Highly recommended! read more

I have found a jewel. Christine is an artist, and to top it off, she listens to what you want and has a true gift of knowing what looks best on you!!! Unlike others who so what will get them more $ and not care about your needs. She is caring, truly talented and really gets it!!!!! I so recommend her!!!!! I am never leaving!!!! read more

I defnitley would never go back here I had an appointment with Tommy he completely ruined my hair I had a color and a cut it was like the first time he was doing a hair from my experience I had to make an appointment the next day to get my hair fixed I wasn't happy and I told him I wasn't happy and it's like he didn't even care. Also I'm assuming he's the boss there as well but the way he treats his workers I was in shock how rude he was. Very unpleasant experience !!!!!! read more

Had a great experience on a rainy day at R Salon. Got my hair colored by Christine and she did an excellent job. We chatted a while and I walked out of the Salon with the perfect hair color that I wanted. I highly recommend Christine at R Salon. read more

I just got a trim and color from Christine yesterday, and I couldn't be happier! I've been to this salon several times over the past few years. They are always good at working me in last minute. I used to go to a place in NYC, but I grew so tired of how late they would take me despite making appointments. So, I started going to R Salon. Always on time! Christine is a fantastic hairdresser that took a lot of time to explain to me what color, why, etc. I really hate going to the salon to get my hair cut, but Christine makes it all worth it! Hope you enjoy it too... read more

This is the second time I've been to R. Salon. I called for an appt. with the stylist who cut my hair last time, but she no longer works there, so they had Jenny cut my hair. I am a 44 year old mom of a 2 year old (i know-an old mom )-and have kinda given up (for the moment) on my hair etc. and just don't "care". But Jenny was awesome! She took the time to care and really consider what would truly look best for me at this particular time. I have never had a better cut. Jenny literally, with this cut, gave my hair new life. I am amazed at how much she seems to know about the architecture of a good style for very fine hair. I don't know how she did it!?!? On top of that she is lovely and kind. Thank you, Jenny!! read more

Christine is amazing. My cut and color suit me. She is very good about figuring out what will work for her clients. And when her suggestion for me needed some tweaking as it wouldn't have worked well, she was open to having my input which allowed us to together figure out a perfect cut for me, would have been 5 star if it wasn't so expensive for the area. read more

I've had five haircuts from Christine and they have all been terrific, which is unusual--often you'll go to someone, get a good haircut-and the next time, it's not so great. Christine is consistent.. I have short hair and she transformed it into a modern style. I've never gotten more compliments. My friends love it! And she gives good tips on how to care for it. The staff is very friendly, also.Highly, highly recommend. read more

I walked in on a busy Saturday morning, with no appointment. and to my surprise they were able to accommodate me right away. Christine gave me a great hair cut. I had my hair cut and colored at R Salon last week and it was a fabulous experience. My stylist was Chris, and she is a rockstar. Seriously. I've had plenty of stylists who don't listen and who ultimately ruin my hair...but I was at immediate ease with Chris, and I knew she was going to take excellent care of me. Not only did she listen to what I wanted, she made excellent recommendations, and you can really tell she knows what she is doing. If you want amazing hair...go to R Salon and ask for Chris. She is a hair genius. I will definitely be going back! read more

I went to this Salon on a recommendation from someone. My hair is baby fine, colored and pretty damaged. Christine took the time to really consult with me about how to fix the color and ultimately get my hair to where I want to be. Some salons give you the whole sales pitch what products you must have in order to look good. She is a true professional as SHE made me look good. I have been looking for a "home" for a long time and I believe that I have found it! The salon itself is nice, clean and comfortable but Christine is what will bring me back again! read more

Another great haircut at R-slaon- this place has so much positive energy and they make you feel so special and relaxed. Tim next month--- I'll be coming back! read more

Barbara B. - Tommy and his crew are simply the best. My hair has never looked so good, both in color and cut. Let me tell you a little story. A couple of weeks ago I was walking out of Trader Joe's, on a very blustery and windy day. A woman came up from behind me and asked "who cuts your hair? You've got a great cut. I can tell by the way the wind is blowing and your hair still looks great!" Of course I told her that Tommy and R Salon were responsible. I highly recommend this salon. read more
