Came here because of good reviews, walk out disappointed. It is one of the few restaurants that open late. Fried rice and noddle are very good. You can tell they cook it from scratch and high heat. But the beef taste like a week old. Sweet and sour pork should be easy to make, but they still manage to mess it up. Sauce is bland, gallons of red dye in the sauce. Meat is thin and mostly cover in batter. Pineapple is like a month old. Brisket pot was a bowl of fat. Just get fried rice or stir fry noodles if you decide to come here.

One of the older Cantonese restaurant in Houston where the price is still fair and big portion, you will feel like home here. The steamed flounder fish was really good, the snow pea leafs was good also. No thrill and no frill Chinese restaurant.

Wow, wish we knew about this place earlier! Their lunch prices are unbelievable. There are dozens of entrees for just $6.50 each. And it's available every day of the week including weekends. What about the portions? You would expect lunch-size portions with a bowl of rice. Nope, they give you the whole plate of entree - something you would only expect for dinner, with rice separately in a container. What about the taste and quality? It was frankly quite good - definitely better than we were expecting for the price and quantity. How do they even make money? The service was adequate, and the interior is not fancy. However, if you prioritize value, this place can't be beat. We will be back!

Food is great. Still open late night. Very reasonable price. Wait time might take a lil while but their lunch specials' pricing is awesome and food is on par. Love this place!

Before you head out that way, just know that once you order it takes about 45 minutes to get your food, but the food is amazing. Service is kind of slow. The ambience is like a Chinese restaurant and the prices are average.

Food is good but service is bad. Takes a while to get noticed. Even with many empty tables. You need to go grab your own menu and try to find someone to actually take your order round 10pm. Round 10:30 pm you need to grab your own plates and silverware. Round 11:00pm remind them to see if they put in your order. Hopefully your food comes out before 11:30pm. Don't think we will come back. Oh by the way, around 11:15 our waitress told us they don't have some items available and if we would like to order.

We stumble thru this place by mistake, we were looking for another business that was right next to them but had move recently iykyk, however once we realize that we were not on our usual spot we said why not and gave it a try, and honestly it didn't disappoint, decent size portions, it was decent no complains

Looking for a late night food place for Congee. Saw that this was supposed to have good congee. When I arrived, around 10 pm, all the tables were empty. Compared to the cafe beside it that was full. Thought i would give it a try since somebody said their congee was one of their specialities. I found the congee underwhelming. They did serve it hot.... Freshly made even but nothing to write home about. There were small chopped up pieces of pork and century egg. If you compare to the congee from the dimsum places, those were much better. Place is bright. Staff was nice. Will go back to my old late night place just beside it.

The mapo tofu is one of the best we've had outside of Bellaire with spicy, savory, numbing, and warmth that you expect from a good mapo tofu. Crispy popcorn chicken is a classic that's spicy, lightly fried, and crisp. It has an authenticity that other places around can't replicate and makes you keep craving more. The portions are also appropriate for their price. Service is incredibly quick, and you can order as you go and receive your dish within 10-15 minutes, regardless of how busy they are. As for the ambiance, it's loud, it's hectic, and it's simple... maybe a stretch, but makes me feel like I'm eating at a mom and pop shop in the heart of China. This place is definitely a go to if I'm convincing a friend of Houston's great food scene! Rating: 4.5/5

No complaints here since we were starving from an 8 hour road trip. The Dan Dan Noodles...I had high expectations but sadly this dish fell short. I recommend Hu's Cooking to use a bigger bowl and more sauce because it was difficult to mix the noodles and the sauce wasn't...saucing, unfortunately. I wish there was more flavor in this dish. The Scallion Pancake was super over-fried and oily. See image in my review. The outer parts of the pancake were fried to a crisp and only a small circumference in the center stayed chewy. I know Chinese tends to be oily but this pancake soaked up way too much oil. Half a Peking duck: super great price for so much meat. The difficulty when eating this dish is gnawing the meat off the sharp bones of the duck. Mapo Tofu with white rice: pretty easy staple, no complaints here. Dinner on a Saturday was packed but we got seated quickly and food arrived fast.

I knew it'd be busy since it's a Sunday and Father's Day. But there were groups and groups of people standing outside and inside. I checked in at the kiosk and apparently there were 34 people ahead of us. I was starting to think we wouldn't be seated till at least an hour or so, but surprisingly we only waited for 20 minutes. The server and employees pushing the carts were all friendly. I'd be honest though, when we were first seated I felt like there were a bunch of carts, meaning lots of selection. But after 10 minutes, it was hard to even find one person. So really, you don't got much to choose from. I think it'd have helped if there was a menu at the table, that way we can order more and see what else is there. The shrimp shao mai and crispy shrimp crab claw was top tier. Please do not leave without giving those two a try! You can skip the pan fried pork & chives dumplings. That was a letdown. I think food wise, I prefer Fung's Kitchen over Ocean Palace. Majority tasted better and plus you get to experience the dimsum carts! However OP wins for conveniency: location and parking.

This is a great place for weddings, business meetings, and milestone celebrations. I can't speak on their normal course of business, but I just came here for my aunt's 90th birthday celebration as well as a company dinner, which featured a delicious king crab prepared three ways. The service was very attentive in our private room settings and the food was good. It's really the ambiance that sets this place apart. One thing that really has always prevented me from coming here is the price. It is the most expensive in town and while there are plenty of options that aren't as good, well, there are options. And at this point, I'm sure that is the crowd they are going after. So if you are wanting to celebrate something or you are wanting to step up your dimsum game, come on over. I'm sure we'll be back for a large family gathering at some point.

The sweet & sour was perfect lightly battered and crispy. The hot & sour could've been a bit more sour but had a small kick to it. It was perfect for my parents, but my husband and I had to add some chili oil & soy sauce for more flavor. The quality of the food 9/10, the price was a bit on the pricey side for the portions of the dishes. The hot & sour soup was $17! It wasn't anything special about it.
