I took it to East Hills Subaru since I had just leased the car there a day before. East Hills Subaru in turn sent it to Perfection Auto Body in Port Washington without me knowing that Perfection Auto Services is not a BBB accredited business nor on the list of GEICO recommended auto repair shops. GEICO then provided three estimates dated 10/04/23, 10/30/23 and 12/20/23 each saying 20 days for repair. As of today 1/03/2024, still no car after over 3 months even though GEICO has paid out 20,958.44 on a 33K car. The 12/20/23 estimate shows 103 hours of body labor which is almost 13 eight-hour days. Plus another 27 hours for paint labor which is over 3 eight-hour days. Does not seem reasonable even if spread out between Oct. 4, 2023 and Jan. 03, 2024. Take a look at the pictures and judge for yourself the extent of the damage. Several early attempts to speak with the owner David M. over the phone were disappointing. He kept on saying that it was my fault I had the accident as if that had anything to do with getting the repair done. That because of COVID (in 2023?), there is a Subaru parts shortage and that I do not understand business. When I tried to see him at the shop, he was no where to be found after several visits but did call back to say that I need to make an appointment. Office staff not helpful in reaching David M. and evasive in providing information. Per East Hills Subaru, they have charged Perfection Auto Services with the repair so no one is accountable or responsible. This appears to be an arrangement where East Hills Subaru sends car for repair to Perfection Auto Services because it is profitable for them and not in the best interests of the customer who is experiencing a loss. GEICO is eventually called to provide additional money for repairs but stops short of declaring it a total loss. This provides work and revenue of East Hills Subaru and Perfection Auto Services. Car sat on the lot for weeks with no work performed and no explanation. The no parts excuse is not reasonable at over 3 months waiting. No reason why East Hills Subaru does not use another car repair shop that can actually complete the work in a timely manner. I will write about the quality of the repair if I ever get the car back.

July 13, 2020 STAY AWAY!…read moreI had an awful experience yesterday! Bob's is unethical and uses fear tactics to extort repairs on unsuspecting customers. I took my 2013 Highlander in for a routine oil change. I was visiting from MA to see my parents. After dropping off the vehicle that morning, Bob's called me a couple of hours later and let me know that they couldn't change the oil filter because the lid was screwed on so tight is broke the tool. Then they told me that my brakes needed to be done right away. He explained that the front brakes are "metal on metal," and the rear brakes would be "gone tomorrow." I already knew that this couldn't be true, because the brakes were not making noise. I said that this was interesting, since I had just had my car inspected in March and everything checked out fine. He responded,"That's been 4-5 months. I don't know how much you drive." I responded, "Not much." Then he said, "I can't believe you didn't notice the scraping." I asked if I could get my car? And he said to come down and get it. When I showed up to pay the bill for the oil change, he dug in, "You going to drive this car back to Massachusetts? It isn't safe." He continued, "You got it inspected in March? Well they didn't even look at the brakes." He took an aggressive tone with me, without an ounce of care and concern. I said OK, and left. Back at my parents' house, we took off the front tire and looked at the rotor and the brake pads. The rotor was clean (no scrapes) and the pads with thinned but in no way gone. There was no truth to his claims about the brakes, he used aggressive scare tactics to try to get me to agree to getting work done with him, and tried to get me to question my own judgment regarding my experience of my car.
