HORRIBLE HORRIBLE HORRIBLE took my truck to be fixed my front bumper was painted the wrong color from the rest of the truck ...they painted it white and not pearl white and NO ONE ever noticed ..2 totally different colors .. had to bring back they said they repainted but still not the same match ... so unprofessional Asked them to please align the truck I don't believe it was ever done ... was going to bring it back cause when I made a turn it felt weird, but I didn't ..... how many times can you ask for your truck to be fixed correctly.. and the truck is new .......so now a year later I need 1 new tire was told by the guy a tire center b/c alignment WASN'T done .. I definitely don't recommend this shop and I don't like to bash a local business BUT come on you got paid by me and my insurance company read more

I damaged both passenger side doors and rear fender, the doors had to be completed changed. Took it to Sands Point and it looks like nothing ever happened. The paint job is phenomenal! It looks as good as it did when I picked it up from the dealership. Not to mention, I called multiple times and was afraid I was going to be a pain but they answered so nicely each and every time. Beware of this place. They might pull a fast one over you. My car was hit coming home from school. I drive a jeep wrangler. My fender, and my rim had some damages. The shop said they were going to paint the fender, and restore my rim. A week went by, and I went to pick up my car. My fender was not painted! The scratches were only buffed out, and they swapped my spare wheel on the back of my car, with the damaged rim in the front. When I called to tell them about the mistake, they got angry that I accused them of not painting the fender, when it was something I PAID for! I called the insurance company, and they investigated for me. They concluded that all my claims were correct, and the shops actions were fraudulent. Do not trust this shop!!! read more

I took my car to Sands Point after I was involved in an accident last month. This was my first experience with Sands Point and I couldn't disagree more with the previous posts. I was concerned about some of the parts the insurance company had included on my insurance estimate but Steve had assured me that they inspect all the parts that go on my vehicle, if any issues came up with the used parts Travelers selected they would inspect them to make sure they were up to Sands Point Standards. I was so happy with the work on my vehicle i wanted to add a hand painted pin stripe, the shop was able to add the stripe the same day. The car was done when promised and i was given a lifetime warranty on my vehicle. While I was there I asked if there was a "little John" due to the previous posts I was concerned, i was informed he had some health issues and was no longer able to work, he stops in from time to time to say hi, another customer in the waiting room overheard me and was sad to hear "little john had to retire. While i hope not to need a body shop anytime soon I would be more than happy to use them by "accident" if needed. read more

Went in to this shop to get an estimate. Place looks decent, guy I talked to was nice enough(think his name was " Little John") I was looking to get some cosmetic stuff done to my truck. He keep telling me its no problem, gave him all my info including 3 phone numbers for him to call me at. That was a month ago.... guy never called me. I call a week later from when I first came in, lady tells me he will call me back .,..... and nothing. Guess unless you have a porshe or bentley they can't be bothered with your business.....and that's fine but let the person know. Not going to chase them down just to get an estimate. read more

Sands Point Auto Body is the worst body shop I've ever experienced in my life. In 2010 I went through Allstate Insurance and dropped my Audie Q7 suv to the body shop. I had a broken sun roof that needed to be replaced. Not only did they take six weeks to complete the work, but they caused more damage then I had to begin with. My sun shade no longer open and close, My radio wire was cut, they left glass in my sunroof track, and they left my headliner with black greasy finger prints all over. I ended up getting the work corrected at my Audi dealership because there was no way I would let them touch my vehicle again. Now six years later the horrible job they've provided is coming back to haunt me. The glass they left behind ended up cutting a hose which caused water damage to my airbag and headliner. This type of damage can cost over $3,000 to repair. I'm guessing if they turn down a repair its because they have no idea on how to successful complete the job. My advice would be to stand clear of Sands Point Auto Body. read more

The phone call to come help me with my car was at 9:01am, and they were at my house by 9:16am to come help me with my issue. The issue with my car took some time to resolve, but they resolved it. The owner Rob came and helped me immediately with the tow truck driver (Singh/Sing was his name). They fixed my car eventually, and with the fantastic communication of Sharon, Dan, and Alex, I got my car back with the issue fixed. Any time I called I got to speak to the magical mechanic Alex who was more than kind and helpful on the phone. Please understand that I am a female that knows nothing about cars. These men were so nice, patient, and friendly. It makes a difference when you have to give your trust to people with your car. I trust them. Bring your car here and have Alex the mechanical magician take care of your car, and you will be in good hands! read more

First couple of reviews of this place were on the money! Went here because Geico insisted that I should go and that i would have a lifetime warranty. My car is less than a year old so I didn't feel comfortable knowing I was not getting the manufacturers parts but as I was leaving the body shop, one of the older salesmen with gray hair practically chased me down and promised me other scratches on my car would be buffed out or painted for free and that I would not be disappointed as I long as I gave him a chance-so I left the car. When we picked up the car, the car repair looked "ok" but the "extra repairs" were not done. When I questioned why they werenot fixed, suddenly, the same salesman had amnesia! I took my Honda CRV in to have a piece replaced. I left the car with them for an entire week to have all necessary work repaired since I was away on vacation. I was very explicit on my return date and when I would be picking up my vehicle and specified the time. When I came to pick up the car, there was still writing on the windshield and the work was clearly unfinished. While the part I took to get repaired was replaced, Sands Point Auto was not finished with detailing it (something that was included in the price I was given). I was told by Teddy to "bring it back whenever I had time". I had to take a day off from work, drag my 2 young kids to the shop, drop off the vehicle to have it "detailed" and wander around Main Street for an hour plus until the work was completed. I received a call in an 1.5 hours and when I came to pick up the car, it was blatantly obvious that it had not been detailed. "Dan" had the nerve to try and pull a fast one on me and tell me it was a "mini detail" (whatever that is). It basically looked like they took my car next door to Razzle Dazzle for a car wash! I don't appreciate the dishonesty and when I confronted him on it, he had the nerve to tell me it was a mini detail thinking I would not notice that nothing had been done. There were hard water stains from my sprinkler system on the driver side window that I'm sure a "mini-detail" would have gotten out, but it looks like it didn't! Additionally, there were yellow stains that THEY put on my car when I left it to be worked on. Sadly, I will not be returning to this establishment in the future. I don't care that the detailing was not done, but more disappointed at their dishonesty and the fact that he had me lug my 2 kids out of bed and walk them around while they were supposed to have the work done that they didn't do - work that I HAD ALREADY PAID UPFRONT FOR. You are a dishonest person Dan and I hope other Port residents and customers are aware of the type of business you are running and aware of the way you have conducted yourself. read more

Third time I've brought in a car, and the work was excellent each time. This time they did screw up on the delivery date. I needed a car, so they arranged for a rental which they paid for. While I of course would have preferred my car done on time, I would rather it be done right (it needed more work than estimated, but they didn't charge me more). So yes, the situation wasn't perfect. They did make it up as much as any place could have, which is even more important. Fix what wasn't done right. I will go back. Nobody is perfect, but when it isn't and you admit it, it's even better. read more

The previous review from Bill M. spot on. I had the exact same experience. It seems this is the usual way of doing business here. While I was waiting to talk to someone, the receptionist was talking to an irate customer on the phone and she said the same thing to this customer that she had sad to me! So and so will call you back. No call. I call back. So and so will call you back. No call. Finally after 3 days, I get a call only because I called my insurance company and complained about how they were not giving me any information. They tell me my car would be done by Friday. Friday 430 pm, no call. I call them because I did not want to be without a car for the weekend after returning my rental car after being reassured that my car would be done and ready for pickup on Friday. They tell me, "sorry, the car won't be done until Monday, but most likely Tuesday." What?!! How come no one called me to tell me this news. I rent another car for the weekend. Monday comes, and they said come pick up the car on Tuesday because paint is still drying. Tuesday comes around and I call to pick up my car, no one calls me back after I fail to reach anyone. I finally got my car back on Thursday. Almost a whole week after they said when my car would be finished. read more

Went to this shop on a recommendation from GEICO and they had to fix a side panel and my bumper. They had the car for over a week. When I arrived to pick it up they had caused more damage to the bumper, on the side of the car that was not involved in the accident. They nicked it and did not sand it well. They were courteous and agreed to fix it. So of course I had to leave the vehicle for an extra day. I had other damage on the vehicle that I understand they cannot fix on behalf of GEICO but a good shop would offer to fix it for a price. They didn't even offer me that. I have been to other shops before and they always assess the entire vehicle and let me know what else they can do to go the extra mile and keep good customers. read more
