I looked for apartments all around Akron and I can say I have not regretted my choice to come to Portage Trail East. On top of being the best bang for your buck, the building is made of concrete, so it's quiet! You can't hear your neighbors talking in the room next to you and you can't hear the neighbor's stomping above you either! The building itself is located under a minute away from RT 8, so it's awesome for commuting to Kent, Cleveland, or Akron! The people that live here all get background checked so it's been an awesome experience having such nice and cultured and understanding neighbors, it's amazing and diverse "neighborhood". Now as for the amenities, there's a rec Room with weights, and another room with treadmills and bikes and all that good stuff which saves you hundred a year on a gym membership. Now if the weight room isn't enough to sell you, there's a party room & a sauna! With a pool table, a 60inch flat screen, a full kitchen, a seating area, and it's right by the OUTDOOR pool. And I haven't even mentioned the huge apartments. It's spacious and comfortable living at an amazing cost. If I still haven't managed to convince you to come to these apartments, there's an ace I kept up my sleeve which is by far my favorite part of living here, the management and maintenance. The manager of this building is beyond amazing and goes above and beyond the job description. She's available literaly at any given time and will bend over backwards to make sure you're happy. The maintenance staff is also awesome because they actually fix stuff quickly! I have never had to wait more than 4 hours to get something checked out, and mind you I called at 4 AM. By 8, they had the tools and the replacement fan ready and it was done and over with. I can honestly say that this is the best place to live in Akron, whether you're a family, a student, a professional, or just someone who's looking for a place to enjoy for a few years, Portage Trail East is definitely your go to place around the Akron Area.

Their maintenance is even terrible they do half-assed work, also their maintenance either takes too long to come, or they don't come at all. My last complaint is with the utility company they merged with for the water bill, called conservice, they didn't notify anyone of this might i add. I just started randomly having bills from months ago (that i already paid) added to my rent. What conservice does is combine 3 months worth of water bills and add them to your rent last minute so then you're fucked paying the rent and then an additional $250-$300 from a water bills. Save yourself time, and do not even think about applying for anything they have. Spread the word to others to avoid them at all costs.

I understand pet rent is becoming normal. We pay it at our house now. However, it's more than double what we pay now and also more than the other 3 homes we applied to in the surrounding area. To the point that it makes the rent higher than similar homes that included a garage. We were told the pet rent was in the listing, but I printed off the entire page and the only thing there was the pet fee and a sentence that said to check tenant requirements. When I check those requirements, it said nothing about pet rent, only that additional requirements may be included on the listing AND the lease. It was only on the lease after we paid the application fee. We also called about an addendum in the lease that says they have the ability to use the smart lock on the home at any time for self guided tours while we are living in the home. When asked about this, we were told they don't practice just letting people in the home, which I believed, but refused to put that in the lease because it's a national lease they cannot change. i believe they do not practice just letting random people into your home unattended, but the way the lease is worded would allow them to do so. I'd like it to say they retain access to the home at any time because I understand it's their house, but we must be given a 24 hour notice if someone is coming over for a tour and that they won't do this until we give our notice or they won't do it at all until we move out. We decided not to follow through with the home because of those two things and that we have found homes in the area with a garage and with their pet rent it was only $10 more a month. BUT also it was a pain communicating with someone to voice those concerns. We had a total of 5 individuals from the company message us and it was all through one number that when you call takes you to a call center that can't do anything except tell the real person you need to contact to call you back when they have a chance. That didn't sit well with us having to make a bunch of calls through a middle man to reach our leasing agent.

I urge potential customers to find another rental and destination services company to assist them as this one will only take your money and give you nothing in return.

I was confused why they had different prices set. From what she explained is the phone consultation would help me select the right service that I needed and the price of the phone consultation would just be subtracted from the upgraded plan. I went ahead and got the phone consultation because it was only 30$ and boy was it a waste of time. They made a profit of 30$ and gave me a number of a local "agent" in the area so you can have a conversation with. Literally the most pointless service ever. Would not refund my money because I called the guy and told him thats not what I was explained and even the guy said that he had to work for a living and does not get paid by porch light which made it really confusing to me. I literally waste my time more than anything and now I am here writing a bad review to help others not fall into the same scam. NOT RECOMMENDED.

They made it so easy; any items mom was not taking with her could simply stay where they were and they would take care of it all. The estimate was very reasonable. They communicated with us every step of the way and cleaned out the house in a timely manner. After they finished, we received photos showing each room empty and clean. They did an excellent job and made a very stressful move so less stressful. Working with this company was easy and enjoyable, and we highly recommend them.
