This business needs to offer more than 2 5 hour windows to pick up items when the are open many days for 8 hours. Very inconsistent.

Twice I have been wronged by this company. I won an item, but didn't pick it up on time. No follow up phone call...nothing. They resold the item (which wasn't even theirs to begin with) again! kept my money still and made twice the amount! Recently went to get another item i purchased (because I didn't want to get screwed out of this one too) and was told they closed ten minutes ago (it wasn't even 5 yet). Then she told me there was nobody there to help lift it. I said I have two boy's in the car. Her response was she just couldn't do it. Really bad customer service. Buyer beware. read more

WARNING. Totally disorganized, unresponsive, rude and didn't pay my commision on 12 items they sold and pocketed my money. Never provided a list of my consigned items. Told me I could see the list in my account...WRONG. Spent an hour and a half with their incompetent staff trying to find my items consigned and sold. They admitted they fired their IT person and their consignment system was problemmatic. BUT instead of apologizing and being responsive, they conveniently LOST, 12, YES 12 Waterford glasses. I called for 6 weeks until they finally admitted they sold them. FASCINATING, they sold 12 items, TOOK the money and never bothered to see who consigned the 12 glasses to pay me. ALSO, for their incompetence, which in my opinion borders on theft, they charge a 50% commission. They grouped many of my items and LITERALLY gave them away just so they could be collect their committion. I asked the manager to have the owner, Nancy Sheeler contact me to explain how such gross incompetence could happen. THE AUDACITY....SHE CALLED AND SAID I WAS FIRED FROM SHOPPING OR CONSIGNING WITH THEM. Newsflash, I had already decided they could not be trusted and self-selected OUT. Nancy reacted like a child caught with her hand in the cooke jar, denied they had any culpability and blamed ME for the problem, TYPICAL GRIFTER! You have been WARNED. read more

Hired for cleaning out a house - with them removing and taking to facility for auction. Paid for "expert" movers that told me things would sell, then when brought to location told that they wouldn't sell. They did credit me for that. Items that were fine when left the house all of a sudden screws stripped upon their receipt at warehouse? They removed the item - so how did the screws become stripped if not by them? Online account access not clear on when inventory will sell and numerous emails and calls to Chase my account manager never returned. Left two separate messages for owner never to have those returned. Glad to be done with the ordeal. Highly recommend if you have the time sell it yourself on FBook marketplace. read more

They used to be cool. Inside store, verything is over priced and most of the workers need an attitude adjustment. Auctions are riddled with sports memorabilia and coins that obviously are a side hustle for someone. They aren't from an estate that's for sure. I had high hopes and a good initial impression with a visit to their showroom, a house visit and item pickups to sell. I found their communication and followup to be poor. They also sold ( gave away items) in their auctions. If you are seller, like myself and want to make a few dollars, do it yourself first. Purchased a step 2 playhouse and picked up yesterday...rented truck and drove 44 minutes from home. Piece was listed as very good.... I paid 340$ which included an 18% surcharge, but which I was told is common!!! Anyway, get home to find it had ink drawings on the walls, the cell phone was missing and the doorbell didn't ring. Is that very good? I think not...the guy wanted me to return it, but I would have to rent the truck again and it is a huge hassle. Nothing else was offered.... Not even 20$!!!! Awful experience and I told the guy he was a scammer to which replied " I won't stand for it " But hat does that mean?? Avoid like the plague. Went to buy an item that I had a beautiful price tag. So excited to purchase it; thought I was getting a great deal. They scanned in the item and told me it was priced wrong and I could not get it for the price they put on the tag. Unfortunate mistake on their part, but also incredibly bad business to not honor your prices. I was so disappointed that they would not honor the price they had put on it. And it's not like they would've been taking any kind of loss; it was a mere couple of dollars between making me feel like I was getting a deal and, in turn having the other individuals in my party also make purchases, to having me leave disappointed and them leave feeling the same. And far too expensive for clothing you can find at any garage sale/estate sale or even brand new elsewhere. As for decor, you'd have better luck at T. J. Maxx or Home Goods. This hidden gem has a lot to offer. They sell second-hand/used/antique/estate/consignment items that are generally in good to excellent condition. We live nearby so stop in about once per month. Their inventory constantly changes. We have already bought a jewelry box, a corner hutch, a kitchen hutch, and some clothing. They sometimes have 20% off sales so ask! The furniture items can be delivered--I believe their moving company charges $85 but lower if you live nearby. Additionally, some of their furniture is re-purposed or refinished. They also sell some items on an auction site. You can find a lot of neat items here and it is always neat to just browse. read more

We had Transitional Design move us from our 4,500 sq ft home to a 3,800 ft home. They were very helpful in downsizing entire rooms and items by selling them in their store and online auctions. We had Sue and Michelle pack very fragile crystal and dishes and not a one was lost or damaged. For the move we had Dillon, John, Gary and Quevon (two more guys for the second afternoon) who were extremely professional, hardworking, polite and caring about our possessions. It rained the entire time for the unload. They covered all floors with protective materials. They placed everything where we wanted and gave helpful suggestions on tight configurations. I have bought furniture from their online auctions and have been very happy. The entire process was very easy, from registering to auction to picking up my items. Their customer service is excellent if you have any questions or issues with payment. I haven't bought anything from their store, although I did have a chance to browse around before I picked up my auction items. Yes, most of the furniture does look like it came from my parents' house, but the quality is good and it is well-priced. As with any place, it can be hit or miss when you're looking for the perfect piece. This is a great way to furnish a house or apartment on a budget, and I will definitely keep Transitional Design on my radar. read more

My new favorite store. I can't stay away!! I love how each room is designed like a bedroom or a dining room, it makes me want to redesign my whole house. They sell all kinds of household items, decorations, clothes and trinkets, etc. But the best part of the whole ordeal is the online auction. The benefit of Transitional Treasures being so close is that I can check out the auction item before I even bid on it. I have made some amazing purchases through the online auction for a fraction of what I would pay in the clearance aisle. This store is definitely a store worth traveling for. Make sure you give yourself enough time to go through everything and I don't recommend bringing kids simply for the reason of either A. Breaking something or more importantly B. Basically a giant resale shop, but they also sell through online auctions. I was a customer for several years, always purchasing from their online auctions. Many items were misrepresented in descriptions, damage hidden in photos, etc., but I always overlooked the negative because I did get some good deals. However, I reached the last straw with this place during my last auction purchase. An item was blatantly misrepresented, and when this was pointed out during pick up, they refused to acknowledge their mistake. Said item was also damaged by their staff while being loaded into my car. Again, no acknowledgment on their part. I did receive a voicemail from the owner stating that she did not appreciate my complaint (seriously?) and still refusing to admit fault. She basically told me that it was my problem the item was mislabeled in the auction description ( as well as deceptive photographs being used) and what really irked me was the snide attitude I was given. I do not appreciate being ripped off (and I would imagine the majority of consumers don't either), but when a business owner responds defensively about a mistake their employee/s made, it just becomes bad business ethics. Update: I find it really interesting that my review is hidden as "not recommended." Yelp is supposed to be unbiased, yet my review perfectly follows the guidelines and is still hidden? I really believe businesses can indeed pay to have negative reviews hidden. No matter. I will continue to spread the word about businesses such as this one that rip off their customers if it means saving others from a negative retail experience. read more

Enjoyed watching and bidding on the online auctions, however an 18% buyer's premium is charged to the customer now on top of the purchase. 15% was high enough, and this will drive potential customers elsewhere. It will certainly make me look to auction sites that are less costly to the homeowner. read more

Based on my last visit, this business is located in a large building a bit off the beaten path. If you are a buyer and enjoy vintage, unique, collectibles, like the world of consigning and up cycling, include this business in an afternoon of getting away from your day to day. If you are also in the market for a specific piece, giving them a try is worth it. It seems as though their inventory changes fairly often and you may find what you are looking for. If you are a seller/downsizer in need of their assistance I would STRONGLY recommend demanding extremely clear communication, getting everything in writing, getting all your questions answered before you agree to use this business to support your needs. Be sure you understand what they will and will not do for you and how much each step of the way will cost you. Then make an educated decision for yourself. Let me start with the positive. This resale shop has great prices! I was pleasantly surprised at the affordability factor. The issue I have with the store is the lack of items. As for furniture, there was very little to choose from on the front end. Towards the back there are items that are not for sale as they are being auctioned online. The furniture that was for sale was strategically placed around the store in a very spread out fashion maybe to detract from the fact that there wasn't much. They really need to work on their acquisition. Aside from that, the employees were okay. Effort seemed to go into the many pretty framed interior signs stating policies, etc. The store itself lacks identity and originality. read more

I came here with my husband prospecting for a new table and chairs and came here. I was impressed with some of their vintage Louis Vuitton trunks in terrible condition. The place was littered with outdated baby boomer era furniture, and I have a great appreciation for antique furniture, just not stuff from the 1970s to the late 1990s. I was taken back by the price sticker of $2000 for a table and six chairs that was from the 1970s. It was particle board and not a custom piece either. I even overheard two staff explaining that us "millennials don't appreciate quality furniture, when in fact we are older then "millennials" I can read an analog clock, as well as a paper road atlas, and I can change a tire thank you very much. If I want to pony up $2000 for a table and chair set, then I can purchase it brand new from a "real furniture store. read more

The quality of products is excellent and the prices reflect it although I still found them to be a bit high. I agree the shop has new and used items in good shape, the store is nice, the problem I encountered was the manager Mellisa is rude, I had his on a auction and won, I was in the hospital and was not able to pickup when they wanted, Mellisa the manager left messages on the answer machine the need the item pickup, complaining that I Failed to pickup up item or call, it had only been about 3 days, then when I came home on a Sunday from the hospital, Mellisa comes to the house, getting close to me telling me I Failed to pick up item, I thought my gosh your coming to the house to tell me that, which I thought was rude not to mention talking about everyone else that his and did not pay, life happens, they are rude and disrespectful, I did go get my item and then found out from Nancy that they wanted five dollars more for the item, which Mellisa did not tell me when she showed up at my house, Nancy said don't bid, I felt as a business that is no way to talk to people or leave nasty messages about the situation and turning off my bidding which was like a threat, Nancy said to me Mellisa is her own person, I told her she is very rude,She did not seem to care about any thing how they talk to people I was in a situation where it took a little longer to pick up because I was sick, but that is no way to treat people, I Told Nancy I will my account there, she.did not seem to care, If you bid , and something happens where you cannot pickup up that day or so, get ready for the calls, that are rude and might even come to your house and tell you that you Failed to pick up your item. read more

Purchased a few items from their online auctions. Staff was helpful and friendly but I felt a few items were deceptively represented in the auction photos and descriptions. Damage to items was omitted. They also use painters' tape to mark items, including artwork and lacquered objects, and I have experienced damage to my purchases as the result of this. You can still get a good deal via their auctions but be sure your expectations are not too high. There is also a resale "boutique" on the premises where you can purchase furniture, art, antiques, and such, but the prices seem a bit exorbitant, especially on furniture. read more
