I must say that I was impressed with the designer with whom they work, Anna Orfanides. I told her what style I was looking for, and Anna knocked it out of the park. It's simply stunning, and everyone who has seen my kitchen is impressed. While it was merely a galley kitchen in a Brookline condo, Anna envisioned a design that made it much more functional, timeless, and chic. Hilary Farr would be impressed. Ryaan and team are highly detail oriented. There was one incident where there was a problem with some of the lighting materials. While some contractors would have taken a shortcut and simply have installed the lighting as is, Ryaan and his electrician Chris, who was a perfectionist, made sure that the vendor was held accountable, and they refused to install the product until the issue was resolved with the manufacturer. It should also be noted that Ryaan and team are in constant communication from the project inception until the very end. Kristina, the project manager, is unbelievably responsive. You really can get in touch with her around the clock. The workmanship is impeccable, and it's the first project I've done with a nonexistent punch list. Ryaan took care of small details before I even mentioned them. Finally, I want to add that they are just nice people. I really do think animals are the best judges of character. My dog is a Lhasa Apso, and there are some people he just doesn't like. I was worried that there would be lots of barking and growling throughout the project. However, that was not the case. My dog took a liking to the project team from the beginning. There was no barking and growling. If he can trust them, so can I. It was a wonderful experience, and they really have earned five stars. Peter Duffy's team took over the work that our previous, nightmare-of-a-contractor had started…read more From the start, Peter and his amazing crew, Oliver and Alan, showed up at our house first thing in the morning, and didn't stop until 5pm or later. They accomplished more in one week than our first crew did in 2 months. Peter was truly invested in the project, and it was clear how much he cares for his clients and his crew. Every step in the process was a collaboration: Peter scheduled appointments between us and the electrician, HVAC crew, and plumbers so we could all walk through the house together and talk through what we wanted and what would work. Peter also made suggestions throughout the process that improved the plan and house in ways that never would have occurred to us. At one point, Peter's crew had the idea to move an original built-in cabinet to another wall in order to open up the dining room to the kitchen, and it changed the entire flow of the house in the best way possible. Visitors always scratch their heads in disbelief when we tell them that the built-in was moved - they insist it looks like it has always lived in that corner of the room! Peter uses the best materials for his builds, and the finishing work is outstanding. Oliver is an incredible carpenter, so our new stairs, kitchen casework, trim around the walls and doors, and tile work in each bathroom is absolutely gorgeous. The existing walls in the house were in bad shape after we removed the wallpaper, so Peter's meticulous painting team patched and repaired all of the walls before painting. The walls are now absolutely smooth and look brand new. The few times there were issues, Peter and his crew addressed them immediately - things were corrected by the following day. Our entire project was massive, and Peter coordinated the work of all of the subcontractors seamlessly so there was never a day that no one showed up to work. Peter's prices throughout the project were also reasonable, especially for the quality of work and materials that they included. Our finished home is more beautiful than we could have ever imagined - we are beyond happy and grateful to Peter and his crew. They did an amazing job, went above and beyond what was asked. His crew was very respectful of our property, always cleaned up every single day, and most importantly was respectful in their communication and interaction with us. We had several horrible experiences with contractors previously, so we were so glad to work with a contractor who was kindhearted, honest, knowledgeable, and good at his work. Two months ago we finally pulled the trigger and added a 1/2 bath to our property. We loved working with Peter so much that we worked with him again! You are very fortunate." We could not agree more. BER transformed our 130-year-old home with extraordinary skill and care. They stripped the old shingles and clapboards, applied multiple layers of protective barrier to the original walls, and installed new state-of-the-art composite clapboards and cedar shingles. The bottom course of shingles was individually notched to replicate the original detail, and the dentil molding was reconstructed by hand. The team also completely rebuilt our bays in PVC that, once painted, is indistinguishable from wood. Every line, corner, and transition is precise. They worked through extraordinary conditions--from 10-degree winter days to 100-degree summer heat--without ever compromising their focus, craftsmanship, or attention to detail. Joe Danz oversaw the project closely from start to finish. He communicated warmly and consistently with the three homeowners in our building, accommodated additional requests fairly, and remained committed to the work until every detail was right. Every morning directly on the dot and often before 7am, they start drilling and sawing metal, running loud vacuums, and leaving snow blowers running idle for 30 mins at a time. They treat E st., a public road, as a shop yard, scattering tools and holding morning meetings in the middle of the street. They also park their vehicles illegally on too of my building's sidewalk here. Additionally, the spanish-speaking gentlemen are exceptionally loud & often their voices are my entire building's alarm clock. The level of disrespect is egregious and it needs to stop or my review stands.
