Update: anybody knows me knows that I love my Boba tea!! came here today for a frosty strawberry milk tea, and I rack up all my points and go to redeem them and could not. The girl at the front she was super nice, but stated that she would have to talk to her manager to figure out how to redeem points on the toaster app. I'm not really sure Why would you be a part of a program that you dont honor when it's time for customers to use it. I come here quite a bit so you know I was very disappointed that I wasn't able to use it today. And while again, the girl was very nice about it, she did say that I could come back another time and hopefully by then they figure out how to redeem points through the system. Come on R&B Tea.... Let's get it together for the customers.
This place has evolved in decor over time. I really do like their teas here and it's usually pretty fast once you order. Only a few times there were one or two people in front of me. Sometimes if I don't feel like chatting I use the kiosk, but in reality because of all the questions and prompting to pay, it's a bit faster to go through the cashier. I haven't played on the claw machines yet but it's pretty to look at. I never win so I don't bother. I generally order the green tea with no sugar and get lychee topping so it sweetens the tea just a little bit. My latest favorite is the Hawaiian Fruit Green Tea. The menu above doesn't give explanation nor does the kiosk really. It states a blend of Hawaiian fruits. Okay?, so this comes in XL only. Well the reason being is because they do put a lot of fruit in it. I wasn't expecting this the first time, and it was so good! I love it. The only downside to this place is that they don't have any hot tea. I was super surprised I didn't notice, probably because I usually go to the tea place down the street. Convenient location in the same plaza as Aldi's. Very small inside, most people just take the order to go. Too loud to actually stay there and work. Great place for a stop over for some great tea.
R&B Tea is a great boba spot in the area. Their drinks are always consistent, and the milk teas are made just right. The touch pad ordering system also makes customizing drinks quick and easy. Definitely one of the most reliable boba shops in the area.
R&B tea doesn't try to be anything it's not, and I think that is its strength. I tried R&B tea for the first time in search of a sweet treat after a nice lunch in the area. I love the wall of cute anime prints, and even their digital ordering screen has an anime character on the homepage. After some deliberation, I ordered a honey black milk tea with grass jelly, 50% sweet, 50% ice. My drink was reasonably priced (under $6? in this economy??) and came out quickly. The tea was definitely pre-brewed and assembled, as my honey was completely unmixed in when I got my drink. However, it dissolved with some time and vigorous shaking, thanks to the well-sealed lid. Once I had it mixed, I took a sip. It is a rather simple, straightforward black tea brew, but I could clearly taste both the honey and the tea, with a pleasant creaminess complimenting both flavors. Their grass jelly is a bit too firm, as I could not get any of it into my straw until I had consumed almost half of my drink. This is the type of spot I would give 5 stars if I were reviewing boba in an area with fewer standout spots. Its simplicity - no tea espresso machine or designer teas, no crazy foams or jellies, just the flavors and textures I grew up drinking - give my experience here a certain nostalgia that I enjoy. And these days, that price can't be beat! R&B tea is a solid choice in SD and one I will keep on my radar if I am in the area. I would love to come back to try their fruit teas, either the strawberry or the peach.
Always been a long time fan of R&B Tea and favor it whenever I'm looking for a boba shop nearby. I like any of their milk tea drinks and I like adding lychee jelly to my drinks instead of boba. Their milk teas are made just right and aren't too watery or milky, and stay consistent. I like the simple ordering method of the touch screen pad, however, there is only one I saw at the store, so you might have to end up waiting at times. To keep it short, I'd highly suggest R&B Tea for your go to boba cravings!
Got the wintermelon green tea with boba and it was delicious! The boba has a nice flavor and good chewing consistency. Lots of places to sit but it's SO HOT INSIDE. we had to go to the Starbucks across the street to sit down because of how hot it was inside the store. Staff is nice tho and made our drinks fast.
I decided to treat myself to some boba and wanted to try this spot out. It was a hit! This boba spot was big and spacious. They had pretty artwork on the walls and they had vending machine games you can play and see if you win a prize. They also had board games you can play if you come with friends or on a cute date. The service was great! The employee that was working was really sweet and nice! She was extremely helpful. The drink that I got was a mango green tea with boba! The boba cups they come in are really cute and durable! You can also change the amount of sugar and ice that you want in your drink. I definitely can't wait to go back and try something different!
We walked to the bubble tea cafe after dinner. This cafe has crane games right as you enter. Cafe is not too big, but there's a few tables and chairs to dine in. We ordered our drinks at the counter and hung out for couple minutes. They will call your name once the drinks are done.
Sold boba option in the San Carlos area. I've been to the one that used to be in convoy and loved it so I was interested to see how this location is. We came on a Tues afternoon and it wasn't too busy. You order at a machine and you get a ticket. They call your order number when it's ready. We got the house milk tea with boba (30% sugar and 50% ice) and the strawberry matcha latte with pudding added. Both drinks had good flavor and the house milk tea had a strong tea presence which I appreciated. My partner said the pudding in his drink was a little firm but still enjoyable.

My go to order is a typical milk tea but I also like the house milk tea, which is just a normal milk tea with their brown sugar syrup. I get it with 30% sugar and it is the perfect sweetness for me. I also love how the milk tea actually has a tea flavor and it's not too milky, but with the perfect creaminess. The vibes in this place is chill with anime posters and decent seating. It seems like there's only one or two people working at times so it does take a little bit if it's busy but they're pretty on it.
The inside of this boba shop is so fun and super clean. The girl behind the counter was very sweet. Ordered the Lychee Green Tea Aloe Vera my new favorite drink from here. If I'm ever in the area I will definitely be stopping by. Thank you R&B Tea for the refreshing drink.
First off, the girl that was working today was soo sweet! They have a BIG menu & I was struggling between drinks. She asked if it was my first time here-- but it wasn't. She asked what drink I had, Thai tea stormy. Then she recommended the brown sugar boba milk and then recommended a popular flavor, green jasmine tea with mango ~ or something like that. Honestly sounded amazing, but I had jasmine tea at home!! I think it's a great quality of customer service to be able to recommend drinks if a customer is struggling. It was noon at the time I came i and so I needed fuel for the day. I already had my heart set on ordering one of the coffee drinks. I mentioned that to her and she gave me descriptions of each which was nice. She described the Hokkaido Coffee as a caramel note one which sounded appealing! I decided to go with that and get brown sugar boba and grass jelly with it. The toppings are .75 cents each. The drink was $5.50! So, $7.55 total~ The drink itself was not bad! Coffee came through, a little too sweet for me and it tasted a little buttery ~ The brown sugar boba was warm and chewy (in a good way). But the grass jelly was in such a large chunk (3 square chunks)-- that it was hard to break it apart to suck and drink. The flavor of the grass jelly wasn't sweet nor was it plain. It was different but good! The texture of it was soft like silken tofu. Overall, cute spot for boba. They have a big menu -- suitable for everyone's taste. You can change the sweetness and ice level. You can order with the worker or you can use the kiosk. They have tables inside and cool anime posters on the wall. Initial D, Rurouni Kenshin, AOT, etc! Fun music and yummy drinks!
Pleasantly surprise with this boba close to home. I got the hazelnut milk tea with boba and as always, I love when they ask for the sugar percentage and ice quantity. They also use vegan creamer for all their milk teas so that's an extra like! I could have had more hazelnut flavor but overall it was really good. Their boba was amazing. Def I'll recommend it!
This is my go to drink spot in my area. I love the stormy drinks, boba and many others. I recommend the honeydew stormy. It is so refreshing! They have some space to work and hang out. A couple of claw machines and a Pokémon card machine that I won a Charzard X box one time. read more
Recently have been getting a tea rather than a boba milk. The mango dragonfruit green tea is my go to! I remove the dragon fruit bits just because I don't enjoy the squishiness. I do add lychee jelly! It adds a bit more sweetness. The workers are always friendly and happy to help. I usually order in the kiosk for easier ordering. If you do need to make modifications you have to order with the workers. There are lots of people who stay and study or play games. Definitely a great spot if you're looking to hangout with friends. read more
Always a fast service and I never gotten a drink here that I didn't like! They also have a partnership with the sushi place next door since you get a discount with them if you get the boba and show the receipt. Not a good place to study but a great place to hang out with friends, they have board games you can rent. read more

Pleasantly surprise with this boba close to home. I got the hazelnut milk tea with boba and as always, I love when they ask for the sugar percentage and ice quantity. This refreshing drink was exactly what i needed after a long tiring day. I ordered the hawaiian green tea and It was absolutely delicious. The service was very friendly and quick! The place seemed very cozy and well decorated based on the little time I spent there waiting for my drink. I was pleasantly surprised with how cool the interior looked! I liked my Taro Milk Tea but honestly, my friend got the honeydew one and it tasted so much better! I would definitely come back again to get my own order of the honeydew drink! Also, the cash register person was friendly - he played great music! You can also order on your own to the computer on the side! read more
Place is clean and someone came out from the back when I came to the counter. They have a strawberry black tea. I asked how does it taste considering I've mostly had strawberry with green tea. They offered to switch the black tea with green tea. It was a good drink. I got less ice and less sweetness. read more

Ok new place had to try. Huge parking lot so lots of parking many stores near by. Very clean ,great vibe, music, the place has kool stuff to look at. Great seating and I seen board games I think you can use. Customer service awesome she explained the different drinks and fast service. My drink was Hawaiian green tea with 30% sugar and golden boba . The flavors are nice and boba was perfect. I will definitely be back.... read more

This is the only place that has nailed the taro flavor for me. I've gone twice in one week and it's been consistent with whoever has made it. The service is quick due to the computer orders and I also I like that they offer a scoop of protein in their drinks so it's a little more guilt free. They have the cutest set up in there too with games to play if you take little ones. This pregnant mama with crazy boba cravings appreciates you guys read more
Used to frequent the convoy location so I'm glad there's another R&B tea open after the convoy location closed down. The thing that stands out most for me is tea quality, and this place doesn't miss. If you still taste the tea after all the syrups and creamer, you know it's good. My top 3 drinks - dragon fruit mango green tea, house milk tea with golden boba (golden boba is key), and jasmine green tea (the tea quality shines here) read more
I stopped in this R&B to have a Brown Sugar Milk to only to learn that they do not make one. The very nice young lady recommended I try their brow rice milk tea because it was suggested that it was somewhat similar. I thought it was okay, and sadly to say it was not reminiscent of a brown sugar milk tea. In fact, it had a slightly bitter after taste that settled on the palate for a while. I missed that roasted brown sugar flavor. The place is nice and offers a good amount of comfortable seating. Service was nice too. read more
Cute little spot I found by chance. Just happened to be in the neighborhood. They have some fun wall art up, and lots of anime ambience going on. They have some tasty boba, and it's great for a little quick treat. There's plenty of parking. Located right off of the freeway in a shopping center, very convenient. First discovered the R&B chain at the location in Kearny Mesa before it closed, where I absolutely fell in love with their Stormies and their mango matcha drink. I got the strawberry stormy here and I have to admit that their stormy series tend to be hit or miss in terms of the quality. In the past I've ordered some stormies that are so smooth and flavorful and delicious, but recently I feel like their Stormies are quite icy. The strawberry stormy is a gorgeous drink but there were some sizable ice chunks in there that really made me feel like I was drinking shaved ice from a straw. I am not sure if it is due to the sugar adjustment (I ordered at 50%) or maybe not blending the drink for long enough? I also felt like the ratio of boba to the drink volume was too small (e.g. by the time I was around halfway done with the drink, most of the boba was gone). Take this rating with a grain of salt though since I've primarily ordered their Stormies but would be open to giving their other series (e.g. milk tea or fruit tea) a try. Also the store itself is new and I love the vibes which are very modern, cute, with some anime references! Clean bathroom and plentiful parking in a strip mall. read more

Really excited about R&B opening here. Lots of parking in the plaza. We ordered roasted oolong milk tea with boba and the tea flavor was good but the boba was clumped together and on the harder side of chewy. Will give them another shot since it's closer to them opening in this location. read more
Went to their grand opening! So excited that a boba shop opened near my house. Dangerous but worth! Now I don't have to drive 20-25 mins to Convoy to get decent boba drinks. The layout is simple and sleek. And the Keanu Reeves royalty pic on the wall love it! Service is great and friendly! I tried out their Jasmine Milk Tea with Boba and their Roasted Oolong Tea with Salted Cheese Cream on top with Grass Jelly. (You can change the sugar level and ice level if you like, I prefer mine half for both.) Both delicious! I'm happy that the drink actually tastes like strong tea and not watered down or being heavy on the creamer/milk. The boba balls aka tapioca balls aka tapioca pearls were soft and chewy consistency. None of that hard chew that exhausts your jaw or the super sized bobas that is soggy because it was left out and soaked in the honey brown sugar too long that it disintegrates. The cheese cream pairs well with the plain tea. It gives it a light milky creamy taste, you get the tea flavor and the hint of sweet and savory. The grass jelly is earthy the way I like it and soft. Will come again to try other drinks! read more

I'm glad to see a new Tea shop open in this area. All the drinks I ordered were good! As with any other shop, you can adjust the level of sweetness and ice that you want. The staff was friendly and accommodating, I ordered like 3 different times. My husband wanted the dragonfruit mango tea, but they were out so he got lychee tea, it was good even though they were out of aloe as well. Plenty of parking spaces available in this plaza. Come on by and grab a drink! read more
